I dont know how I feel about this.. I am leaning toward 'no'.
Couple of reasons.. it would make more sense rp wise that paladins would discover vamplings more so than aged vampires.
from an ooc poiint of view.. even if its not a pain to code.. would it not slow the game back down? THe point of getting rid of the need for IDS was to speed it up. Would we not be slowing it back down again?
Part of me would rather the safety go, vs. hiding them.
The lvl 10 safety prevents characters under to be able to go to events in private abodes. We have had a hell of a time trying to get new characters into events at private places because of that. It is discouraging to new players that want to take part in the event only to be frustrated by the 'character under lvl 10 cannot enter private abodes"
If the safety was gone.. that would fix both problems. With the lock out rule in effect, (locked out of private abodes if you fight) there are less chances for characters under level 10 to be attacked.. unless they goad it on..
The lvl 10 safety was to protect newbies from being hunter to masq violations. Now there is no masq.. so there are no violators to be hunted.
So do we need the lvl 10 safety anymore?

I can totally feel that POV.
The seeing/meeting newer vampires than older ones...but it sucks to waste anima multiple times a day and get no real return from it.
And idk about the level ten thing. I think that ties in to a lot of diff things-like the tut, and I think pi's sanctuary too. Like I heard (IDK if it's true or not) once you hit a certain level you cannot buy property from there? Anyone know that to be true or not?

Also to the point of the paladin power.. does the Vampire character's willpower have anything to do with being able to resist the paladin power?
Perhaps the lower levels are being found as the stronger vampires can avoid it?
I do not know.. hence the question.
As to the purchase question, I vaguely remember a character under 10 purchasing an apt and unable to go in it due to being under level ten. But it was reported.. so I dont know it if was fixed or not.

It was changed so you couldnt buy them under level 10 I think.
The level 10 safety was added to keep people from creating alts to do scouting as I recall.
Instead of totally doing away with the safety, maybe restrict new characters to the tutorial until level 10 so you can't leave until then?

I don't like that idea, only because of live rp events and such. Sorry

I don't like it because I like to have new childer meet with Alex on grid bewtween checklist tasks and get pressies plus sometimes take pop quizzes.
(no I am not kidding, lol)

I have recently done the tutorial with Wynn.. and she was lvl 8 when she finished the tutorial.. forcing her to stay in the tutorial for two more levels would have been boring.. and if I didn't know the game, I would have been inclined to quit.
So I do not like the idea of forcing people to stay in the tutorial . Wynn maximized all her energy use so she was a higher level than someone who may rush through the tutorial. Therefore they would be stuck in it longer, with more levels to gain before getting out.
However, I do believe there should be a change. What that change is .. I am not sure.

Passing items is easily fixed by using the auctions, though. One of the checklist tasks is to use the auction anyway, so it's not out of the way to do so.
Honestly, I think Chats needs to be added to the checklist so new players especially know it's there.
I was going to ask about how long it takes for someone to hit 10, but knowing you don't finish the tutorial at level 10 kinda of changes my mind about needing to stay there until then. One possible fix to that is to redesign the tutorial to ensure it covers all the points a new player needs and gets them to level 10 by the end, but that's likely more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks, thought there was something like that.
