UPDATE: Doing Away With IDs (read 2nd post also!)

I'm in the process of making it so that you won't need to recognise the identity of a human / vampire in order to see them on grid.

So far identities have been mostly done away with, and the grid view has been updated. You can also now feed on specific human targets via the More Commands menu ("+").

There's still quite a lot to do, which I'll get through tomorrow. I'll make humans a little less vulnerable to bites, and vampires a little less recognisable as vampires. I also need to replace a Paladin power, and change the Blood Thief turning quest.

This is mostly happening in order to speed the game up (which I think it already has a little), but it'll also make the game less complicated.

This update is being applied to both Blood and Path.

Almost finished with this update now. Some new changes:

The Paladin power, Collective Recognition remains, but has been re-purposed. The power now automatically shows the race of a vampire on their character sheet when you view it. Yes, this means that paladins with this power can now be roleplayed as being able to tell vampires apart from humans. You can roleplay this as having something to do with the fact that everyone knows vampires exist now, so the paladins have become better at spotting them (and the limited hive-mind aspect of this power allows for instant recognition, upon examination). Tier 2 of Collective Recognition isn't yet fully coded, but it will also allow for double the chance of resisting a bite attempt from a vampire, in addition to the tier 1 functionality.

Vampire Hunter (another Paladin power) has also been tweaked slightly. Instead of randomly selecting a vampire's location based on which vampire IDs you have, it now gives you the location of a random vampire who is currently in a public location. It also gives the name of the vampire you've found.

Blood Thief quests (dual class or standard) have also now been changed so as not to require identities anymore. Sort of. Instead, it will now read your character's memories and look to see if you've recently spotted a vampire feeding or using powers etc. You only need 1 vampire memory for the standard class, and 3 for the dual class.
