Indigo tried to inspire her employee with the name '~*~ ' which exists on grid. I received this message.

The character "" does not exist.

This was the first time the inspire was attempted.

if that is their actual name, the game doesnt recognize symbols, if that is just to hide their name.... if you copy/pasted the name, it often adds a space before the name when you paste, if you do not delete the space, it will not recognize the name

eta, also if you used the browser dropdown, and ever entered it wron, it might be taking the wrong spelling/extra spaces....


double edit.... i just appraised " ~*~ " and can see that have been around awhile, but i am unsure how the character was even created, let alone made it this long incognito without a bug report, because names with symbols in them were supposed to have been removed cause they mess with coding, i believe was the reason. however, that is why you are getting the quotes with nothing in them, the game does not recognizw ~*~ as a valid name.

I must have missed the no symbols memo. >.< I recall thinking 'oh this won't work' when naming it and being far too amused when it did.

It must have slipped through when there was a bug with the character naming thing. I think.

Anyway, we'll need to rename them. Sorry. What would you like their name to be?

... Why that name? Seems kinda OOC.

It's just a gamer account that I use as a tour guide sometimes in the tut hub. And at the time I wrote PXP Orb, that had just struck me funny.

When I created the ~*~ account, I was thinking of how the late great Prince had just a symbol for his name so I was being a copy cat there. Or as a spin doctor might say, paying homage to his independence and individuality.

Are ANY symbols allowed? Cus if it's not allowable and having a running gag running about isn't kewl either... then can I just pick a number? I'd really rather have a symbol though. ~crosses fingers and toes~ <3

Running gag is fine, symbols aren't allowed though.
