Hey everyone I have some questions about the game, that I would like answered.

Is there a level cap, if so what is it.
Regarding business, you can recruit employes, but do they do anything at all besides eating up my money ?

Thanks.

Hey, Azriel

I'm not sure there is a cap anymore. According to our leaderboards, the highest level at the moment is 80. It would have taken approximately 5-6 years to get that high.

Businesses -- what level skills and attributes do you have? The better results you get, the better your businesses do -- I'd recommend, at first, only hiring one person per business. The higher your Business and Speechcraft, as well as your Charisma and Intelligence, the more choices you'll get and the better chance at a positive outcome for your business dilemmas.

Hope that helps!

There is no level cap, though there is a 'soft cap' somewhere between level 60 and level 70, which is about the time gathering exp becomes significantly proportionally harder.

Prior to that, there's pretty steady leveling, and I know a few people (myself included) who were able to get characters 1-50(ish) in about the space of a year. It just depends on what activities you do on grid, how efficiently your character is built, etc.

Thanks everyone, so there is no level cap. But regarding business it seems i didn't write the question correctly. I was asking what do employees do (Clerical, Craftperson, Janitorial, etc.).

I also noticed that the Daily Dilemmas are not cost effective. So if i dont do it do the business continue to improve (gaining Reputation and Popularit) daily ?

No, the business will just fall inactive until you resume doing the daily dilemma.

I'm still unsure of the other question unless you mean on grid actual activities by the employees, of which there are none. If you mean for roleplay reasons; then so long as it is within game cannon only your own imagination is the limit for what they can do.

More info regarding employees;
NPC's don't care how little they make so they are good to start with at the lowest wages but have limited stats so aren't as helpful for your business.
A player character, on the other hand, will give you better results but may expect better pay. As a player character employee loses some energy every hour (It's small but I forget the amount) for being employed and besides the salary they are paid get no other compensation. Like experience.
Also, employees only receive wages on the days you do that daily dilemma, so if you plan to not do those regularly you may wish to stick to hiring npc employees.

If you stop doing the daily dilemmas, it effectively freezes your business. You no longer gain money for them, your employees (if PCs) no longer get paid, and they no longer acquire rep or pop daily.

Clerical is based on the intel stat, and they make your business harder to sabotage hack.
Janitorial is based on the stamina stat - I believe it relates to janitorial daily dilemmas (involving staff).
Craftsperson is based on the skill stat.
Manager is based on the business stat.
Security is based on the strength stat, and I believe relates to security daily dilemmas (involving staff).
Sales is based on the Charisma stat, and can increase your profits daily.

Honestly, I had a hell of a time looking for the information, as most of what the jobs do relates to the daily dilemmas. For example, if you have the choice to let your security handle a robber, then having someone on your staff with high strength would make you more likely to be successful at that roll, etc.

For the original update, see this post: clicky

Though I believe most of that information is also in the wikia.

Also Alex seems to have ninja'd me.
