The cab ride was eye-opening. We passed many areas which I had visited on my last "vacation" here. I saw the tunnel entrances to the sewers where I honed my slice and dice techniques, Veil tower (the memories there I would like to erase) and numerous other landmarks where I had learned how to become a creature of the night, so to speak.

It was then, we reached Lancaster's.

I paid the cab driver and gave him a substantial tip. " Thanks Lady!" he replied. I do have to say, the first step I took towards the bar was exceptionally difficult. I felt as though each of my Choos had been manufactured from cement. I took a deep breath, out of habit, and took the remaining steps towards the front door. My mind was buzzing with random thoughts. Who would be in there? What would I say? Should I just act casual and sit down at a table or maybe head to the bar...I really was not sure of that yet.

I entered the door to the bar and stood in the doorway for what seemed like hours. My natural instinct was to analyze. I quickly scanned the room to ensure exits had not changed, I quickly counted how many bodies were present. It was then I made my way over to a table in the corner. I was able to have my back against the wall and see the entrance, quite well, from there. I sat down quickly and placed my bag under the table. I was sure to put it out of the way of my feet, in case I had to get up quickly. Reaching around to the small of my back, I felt to see if Bonfire was secure, she was. I knew that Demeter was on my hip and fully loaded. After checking and analyzing, I exhaled that breath I had taken minutes before. I sat and watched…an awaited a possible server to arrive or anyone else….
In every battle there comes a time when both sides consider themselves beaten, then he who continues the attack wins.
