Vampire Secrecy

As the vampire secrecy level is now showing as "fully aware", what are the implications? Can I start selling "I <3 Vampires!" T-shirts, or should I perhaps grow garlic?

Where does this official collapse of the masquerade leave the game? This seems to be quite a significant moment.

I've honestly no clue. I saw that earlier, and I'm hoping David will have something to say about it - but he's gone for a few more days. I'd love to know, too, because it'd be interesting to see what happens with certain characters.

If you start selling t-shirts, though, I'll take a dozen. :))

I've discussed this on a few private boards briefly. I think David has a plan and we should wait for official word.

On a side note... my bet is on no more crownets, coming soon to a forum near you.

I know others would miss it, but I wouldn't. I don't even use it.

But, I agree. I'd prefer the official word. I'll continue the stories I have right now as if everything is fine and dandy, I suppose.

I would suggest waiting for word from David before moving forward with any secrecy ending roleplay.

Yes, very interested in this too. Keen to see what he'll say.

I too would prefer to have official word from The David.

Why?
It's not run by the crow, but by the admin guy...who is apparently its own entity. He/she/it took away the abilities for humans to see, so I imagine it will remain secure through whatever means he/she secured it.
Honestly, it was meant to fall and get to this point. Yes, people made decisions that helped it, but it was inevitable.
The only way off the list is by killing and that can't even be done...but it does beg to question that if someone or something so powerful can control a crownet area, for the vampire's benefit (so they say), why haven't they helped the community find things to help us maintain secrecy? or deleted a percentage of info every night to maintain vampire secrecy? Surely, if they can hack a crownet, they can hack some police cam/footages.

Yes I concur, only if the Administrator was telling the truth. The administrator 'says he made it safe' - what if he/she/it lied? What if it was the plan all along? to have the masquerade fail?

And if the masquerade was meant to fail; and with skirmishes gone, and killing gone, what will remain? What becomes the point of it then? To earn lots of money? To have the most powers (which are mostly useless then)? What keeps a vampire tied to Harper Rock?

>.> These are all very good questions that your characters should totally bring up and be asking.

I can't/won't answer them because I'm not sure exactly what information David wants published in public, but I would definitely love to see these viewpoints/questions come up in roleplay, especially when David weighs in on how he wants secrecy to officially end.

I will confirm though, that the Administrator is very pro-secrecy, hence setting up Helheim to help enforce it. However that doesn't mean characters would necessarily believe that - and they certainly would have some room to assume the Admin is lying.
