“Jesus… *******… Chri…” muttered Aaron Hunter under his breath, his sentence failing to be completed due to the fit of giggles that had erupted within his surprised body.

Word had reached Aaron about some kind of auction at the Necropolis Nightclub, where the lots would be people, offering their services. It sounded like something a little unusual, a change from the regular evening routine. At worst, it may be an opportunity to feed on a goth chick. Those girls always made such an effort with their perfect hair and make up, and their dark and moody clothing. Aaron didn’t mind a bit of gothic rock, bands like Bauhaus, Joy Division, or Siouxsie and the Banshees that had sprung up during the back end of the 1970’s punk era. He’d been engaged in many heated discussions about whether the Misfits were punk, metal, goth, or all of the above, and whether groups like Nightwish were musical virtuosos or just a bag of ********.

At best, a trip to the Necropolis could be full of surprises, while also giving the drummer an opportunity to casually promote the next gig of his band, Breaking Bad. However, Aaron couldn’t have imagined the surprise that had been delivered like a brand new bike on Christmas morning. One of the “slaves” up for auction was Kaspar, a recent acquaintance of Aaron’s.

Kaspar was also a musician, a singer with talent to spare. Yet here he was, opening himself up for judgement like a contestant on American Idol. Once Aaron had curbed his laughter, there was only one thing to do – bid on Kaspar. But wait, how about adding a twist, mixing in a little spice to the dish? Grabbing his phone, Aaron fired off a quick text message, then made his way towards the club’s entrance. If he placed the bids, presumably Kaspar would see, and consider it to be some kind of friendly joke. Aaron needed an accomplice.

Within minutes, Aaron returned from his brief excursion, with his thrall, Poppy, by his side. The plan was simple: Poppy would place the bids while Aaron smirked in the background.

“I bid $2,000,” said the red-haired human.

Kaspar had been keeping a vague eye on the room, pausing to chat to people as they approached or seeing who was peering at different auction cards and asking questions of which participants. The lovely Dom was popular, her friends clearly coming out to bar for her in force and he couldn't help but grin at that. Mostly he'd kept his pretty features somewhat brooding, tossing the occasional wink or flirty smile.

Doing another sweep of the room he swore he saw the back of a familiar frame, a man he knew from the music scene but just as soon as he'd caught sight of him, a flash of those eyes as he turned he was gone. Damn. Kas figured he'd be somewhat amused by it, this didn't seem like his scene nor was it usually Kaspar's but hey, he liked the attention and it was a chance to meet new people.

Another bid was placed while he was distracted, Kas's brow raising as he saw the redhead, not one he recognised.

Lyonel was not exactly fond of these sort of things. He had quite the misadfventure last time he had such an idea. It was hard to recall the female's name but he could never forget the end result. The slave he won after bidding with hopes of gifting his wife with a little alternative amusement turned out to be nothing more than wrapping up a rabid bandit as a gift. One that nearly destroyed their property in the process. His wife had wondered if he had went and lost his mind. His business partner, Thomas Darque, was certain he had but didnt let that get in the way of stopping by to visit and observe the chaos within the home to his. In the end a lesson was learned. Stick with what works when looking for a gift.

This was different though. He had been alerted earlier in the evening by Joilie Sweet that there was an event going on that perhaps he should check out during a free moment between his business meetings. She mentioned bringing his credit cards. It seems what he should not miss involved the 'the little prince that could' as Kaspar had been referred to since the night he was introduced to him. That had his curiosity piqued. Maybe he was playing for a benefit of sorts. The tall killer was all for supporting the Wests in their endeavors. The Old Man taught him that first hand by example many times.

Upon entering it was soon apparent that Eva's and the West's very own rock star was not only a performer but was in fact up for bid in the auction. A brief glance at the current bid left him less than impressed. He was confident that Kaspar was going to pocketing more than a single night's permformance fee.

Twelve thousand.

Once the bid was placed he glanced at his watch then took a seat. Waving off the server offering to bring him something to drink he pulled out his phone and messaged Jolie to cover the next couple meetings. He was going to be unavailable.

Tall, deadly and beautiful, Lyonel West cut a striking figure and Kas wanted to resent it. He tried, but damn, the guy was also likable. He was fairly surprised when the man not only mad a rather impressive bid, but decided to stick around and watch the goings on. Kaspar figured since so many people seemed keen on treating like a show, he'd give one.

His guitar was with him, an acoustic that he slung over his shoulder, making the sure the strap was comfortable before beginning to pluck at the strings. The smirk on his face was positively puckish, playing a familiar tune at first. "And now here's Wonderwall..." His laughter was bright, sharp before it faded, his head shaking.

The tune shifted, dropping the pretense and launching instead into an original, something more upbeat but still with the grungy rock touch he preferred, toned down to ensure it was palatable to a wide array of people without losing his edge entirely. It didn't take long for him to give himself over to the music, letting his voice rise to join the guitar harmoniously.

Ah, what a clever move, thought Aaron as his potential prize began to entertain the gathered crowd. Another bidder, an unknown young man, had already joined the party, and it was surely only a matter of time before Kaspar seduced more potential suitors with his serenading.

Aaron wasn't a rich man, but he possessed a small stash of "fun" cash. A subtle nod of the head to his tattooed partner, and Aaron had given her the signal to place an increased offer.

Responding with obedient swiftness, the human thrall raised both her hand and her voice.

"I'll offer $17,000 for the musician," announced the redhead.

Eva slinked up beside Lyonel tucking her hand into the crook of his arm . A simple smile turned the corners of her mouth as her eyes flashed at the other man that was bidding . "Thirty Five thousand " Her voice rang out .

The redhead bid again, and Kaspar offered her one of his more charming smiles in gratitude, continuing to entertain with his music.

Eva's presence didn't go unnoticed, he was like a moth to a flame when it came to his sire, it was something he wanted to begrudge but she treated him brilliantly and praised him in equal measure if not more so than he did her. Her bid was rather opulent, his brow raising at it, wondering just what she expected of him for that price.

Something that would no doubt have Lyonel chuckling. Kaspar tried to pay attention to the room, to focus on the bidders and see whether anyone was willing to take on the beautiful woman and her husband in a bidding war, or if it had reached it's peak.

A wry grin crept across Aaron's face. Another participant, this time a young woman who was somehow linked to the existing male bidder, muscled in on the proceedings. As the newcomer nestled up next to the handsome young man who was already in contention for Kaspar's services, she offered more than double the current asking price that had been pledged by Aaron.

The affable drummer scrunched up his nose, aiming his gaze in the direction of his thrall before releasing a gentle shake of his head. It was a clear indicator to his bidder by proxy to call it a day. As much as he'd enjoyed having a little giggle, Aaron wasn't going to spend that much hard earned cash to keep the laughter flowing. Nevertheless, he was happy to hang around and watch the evening's entertainment unfold. Maybe somebody else would catch his keen eye.
