I've been repeatedly advised to look for hitmen in order to lower Bjorn's bounty.


Does killing hitmen have any effect on the bounty or do they have to hit Bjorn for it to affect the bounty?

Killing them has nothing to do with removing ones bounty.
Is it a personal bounty or a masquerade type bounty?

Whoever put it up, didn't specify the reason.

Bjorn was on the violations list twelve times for over a month, then the bounty went up hours before it went down to two violations, where he is now. So I'm assuming it is a masquerade bounty.

What I don't understand is how to make it go down.

Because even when he was critically wounded by someone, the number didn't go down.

OKay, so if it's a personal bounty (which it sounds like it is vs violations) yes. Find hitmen and let them shoot him. Unfortunately. But it will get rid of the bounty...I think (don't quote me) each hit takes 1k off the total.

What I didn't understand was why killing them had no effect.
I mistakenly thought that simply killing them would do the trick.

I suppose a hitman hit equals 10% of the bounty rather than 1k...
He was hit four times and it's down by 40k.
Which is good news.
I guess the other three he sneaked up on and killed were lost opportunities.

Yeah, there's no way to get rid of any bounty other than...die, cripple or do what you're doing on the personal bounty front.
I'm not sure who told you killing them would lower it, but I've never heard or seen that and they could misunderstand what someone told them or was like a telephone affect. I say I like green peas and then four people later it turns into I like green seaweed or something crazy.

Good luck with this! I hope you get it down (though I don't think/know if someone is really actively pursuing personal bounties).

Your question's already been answered - but I wanted to say you should [if you're not already] do something RP wise with this! Trying to lower the bounty, that is. Maybe you can find someone to cripple him and 'fake his death' or something. I don't know. >>

Crippling doesn't remove the bounty on grid. Only hitmen or being sent to the SR.
