Time is Transient. (Open: Side Story - Trouble in the Deep)

((OOC Note: Refer to the link to learn more about this thread. I don't care about time, nor the prize. I feel that this side story should get some more light, since it hasn't been clear whether or not it's been used.))

Refer to Dice Rolls for how I made the guards react:

((IC Start))
Carefully sectioned off from the rest of the city, hidden behind layers of literal yellow tape and large and hastily constructed steel and cement block walls, they are working on a new project. It is impossible to get a look from above, because there are tarps covering the construction area, and even if there were not, the cement walls are capped by sheets of steel. At all hours of the day, trucks come and go from the area through the single entrance, through a set of intimidating metal gates. Those gates are guarded at all times by a pair of sirens who change shifts at confusing intervals (thus making it hard to figure out when guard changes will occur). The trucks enter empty and exit the small construction compound filled with rock and dirt. Occasionally, explosions can be heard from inside, though they are localized and only send minor tremors through the city blocks surrounding.
The time? A crisp early morning, with people busy to get to cafes to get coffee and read the news. Not Eldecrok today though. In is usual Trenchcoat and Fedora, he looked at the gate and approached it, only to be called out by two guards.

"Hey there! You!" Called one of the Guards. This one was more of a butler than an actual guard. He wore butler's clothes and his gun holster was quite visible, as well as the knife hanging from his belt. He seemed calm and composed, as though he were a true statue. Even his shout was civilized.

"Me?" Replied Eldecrok, looking up from the base of the gate.

"Yeah, YOU!" Called the other. This one was a true guard, rifle and all. He seemed angry about something, and almost trigger happy.

"Oh yeah, Mind if I have a quick chat really fast? I'm curious as to what's going on. Heard some loud noises here, and I want to try and help out so people don't get mad."

"No, I'm sorry. It is private business." The butler guard shifts position a bit to get a clear view of Eldecrok.

"Pardon me sir, but I am in independent journalist." Technically true, he did do some news reporting... Occasionally. He had done a column for an independent news station, but it was hardly well known.

"Ha!" Cried one of the guards. "Yeah right. You're too cliché in those clothes. Go back to your Film Noir Movies." Both of the guards laughed hysterically.

Eldecrok tries to bribe the guards with a bit of cash, but was ignored as the guards continued to laugh. "Come on guys. We're all civil right? What's wrong with a bit of morning coffee and a bit of gossip? I don't want to know too much, I'm just bored is all."

"NO!" Replied the guards in unison. "Now get lost before we shoot you."

And so, for that day, Eldecrok sighed and continued his life... for that day. The Butler's will to deny people has dropped, while the Armored Guard appears to be even more angry. The two guards start to have an argument over the matter.

"Should we have let him through?"

"NO!"

"Hey, don't yell at me like that!"

OOC Notes:

Wow, 4 fails in a row. And the Door-Face Technique failed too. Well now, to anyone who wants to join will have something interesting to do. Appeals to one guard may work better than the other.
