Wise Men Say... ((Austin Hughes and Mirella - Open))

Post by Judah Marck »

Please note: This thread is set sometime in the first week of April.

Song

Only fools rush in, and while Judah von der Marck could be a damnable fool he wasn't exactly rushing. How long had it been? Nine years since he'd first been kissed by Austin? Yes, nine whole years and it had taken that many years ups and downs, of joy and sorrow for him to say they'd try. He'd been utterly absorbed in planning for the family gathering, it was only weeks away now, approximately two and he'd been terribly neglectful.

Even when he dropped by to visit he was distant, distracted and totally scattered. Austin's patience was positively saintly, he let the man chatter about the family history, about things that clearly made very little sense to anyone outside of it. He could get himself into a cycle of talking that was unlikely to end until Austin made it end, physically shutting the man up by reminding him of a need that was greater.

Basically, he owed him.

The man hummed to himself, singing along in crooning tones as he headed over to the man's house, knuckles rapping out in time with his song upon Austin's door.

Austin sat his kitchen table turned desk as he looked over all the photos he'd take on this last trip. Normally he'd be at his actual desk but sadly it was not big enough for the work he was doing. The head secretary of the church had asked for a large art piece to show some of the work they had done. She hadn't asked him directly but had asked one of the juniors named Kelly if she would work on it and in turn Kelly came to him for photos for the piece. He was more than happy to. So now, spread before him, were stacks of photos to be divided up and gone throw. Even if she hadn't asked he'd be doing this anyway, just in digital format for his blog he wrote. Though almost all the photos when on that unless they were just really God awful.

His head turned from the photos in his towards the door as he heard a knock. He placed them down among the stacks that still needed to be gone throw, as he stood and made his was towards the front door.

"You are a horrible guard dog, you know that?" He said as he pasted the sofa with the still sleeping down sprawled out upon it.

He quickly unlocked the door and opened it with a smirk on his face as he saw Judah before him."Hey lover boy." He said as he pulled Jude into and embrace in a hope to distract him what he had just been called.

His song cut off as the door opened, positively beaming up at the man who filled the door frame. "Hi the-..." He didn't get to finish, he was tugged into an embrace and referred to as "lover boy" seriously? Jude weaselled his way out of the embrace, ducking and dodging around Austin to get inside the apartment. "Oooh, no you don't! Not a chance, Hughes, not letting that one slip." His smiled had turned cheeky, but there was an edge there. "Lover boy? I mean, even Jedi is judging you for that one, just look at his shame."

He pointed with amusement towards the sprawled dog, who had only seemed to notice who had come in the door. His fluffy little head popped up, looking quickly between the two men before rolling over and straight off the couch. He skidded slightly as he ran towards Jude, almost bumping into legs. "Yes, your daddy is a big silly, huh?" He cooed as the dog flopped ON his feet, Judah crouching to give him affection. "But we like him anyway, don't we? Yes we do! We might just have to call him Pooky if he insists on ridiculous nicknames."

Jude chuckled, dropping the voice he used specifically for Jedi, clearly addressing Austin once more. "Or Cutie Butt, sweetie pie? I think i'll stick to Hughes, or "Hey, man". I mean, "Hey man, you wanna make out?" totally works, doesn't it?" He frowned slightly in thought, maybe he should consider working on a more affectionate name for Austin, one not born of friendship and playful jostling. He'd call Anna things like "my love", "sweetheart" "dearest", why shouldn't Austin in turn get some of that?

Time, he needed time to figure that out.

"So... What do you say to a date night? Take my Pooky sugar pie honey bunch lover bun buns out on the town, hm?" He was heading the right way for an *** kicking and he'd just arrived.

Austin rolled his eyes and shook his head, not only at Judah but also at Jedi. "Should of named you Judas or Benedict Arnold." He said to the white fluff ball at Jude's feet. "You're supposed to be on my team.I mean, I bought that sofa for you and everything." The dogs simply picked his head up and yawned at him.

"You've ruined my dog, you know that right?" He said to Judah but in truth, the dog had always been that way.

"Where shall we go and are you sure you're ready to go out with me? Where other people will be? People that aren't covered in fur and walk on all fours?" He wasn't trying to discourage the outing, just wanted to make sure he was ready. Though most people wouldn't think they were more than just friends due to the lack of pda and pet names. "Also, shut up and kiss me before I have to kick your ads, pumpkin."

"Ruined him? Nooo, look he's perfect! He loves me, yes he does! He's just like his daddy, rolls over and shows his belly to me for pets." Yep, he was asking to be chased around the house for sure. The pair often ended up in stupid bro-style wrestling matches, Austin always having the reach advantage but Judah was surprisingly wily and definitely fast. Back in the day it would've ended up at an awkward point, the two panting, staring at each other until one said "Mercy" and they broke apart. Now? It was quickly becoming the aim, pin the other to steal a kiss.

Judah did as commanded, strolling back over to the man and leaving Jedi to sulk. "Well, yeah? We can't stay cooped up inside forever, plus we used to go out all the time what's the problem? We can go to a pub maybe, grab a drink and bite to eat? No big deal, Hughes. I'm hunnngry." He whined piteously, creeping closer to the man.

"Kick my ***? Bro, i'd like to see you try. As for kisses..." He laughed, leaning up with the aid of a hand on Austin's hip, the other tucked behind his neck to pull the other man in towards him. "Whatever you want, sweet bottom." He smirked, offering a lingering kiss of greeting.

As they kissed, Austin wrapped his owned hands around Judah's sides, leaning into the man before the kiss ended. "I'll let that belly rub comment slide for now, but only because I'm hungry too."He smirked and let out a soft chuckle as he let go of the grip he hadon the man. "But I will be kicking your *** sometime before the evening is up." He slapped his *** as he walked over to the closet to grab a jacket, his keys and wallet.

"Be good. No wild parties while I'm gone." He said as he turned back to Jedi who had sulked his way back up onto the sofa. He was either man about them leaving or, more likely, mad that he had stopped getting rubbed.

"So Where are we going my sweet cheeked sugar daddy?" Two could play this game and often did. Only time would tell who would be the winner of this name calling match. Though chances are they run out of things to call one another before either of them would actually give up.

He gave a little huff of disappointment as Austin pulled away, though he couldn't help the cheeky grin over being informed he'd gotten away with his teasing. The slap of his backside made Judah jump slightly, as narrowing on the man's back. "Oh REALLY? You're going to kick my ***? Seriously? We'll see about that, Hughes, now get your butt into gear." He laughed, watching Jedi sulk away, disappointed they weren't sticking around to cuddle with him on the couch and watch movies no doubt, or that Jude wouldn't be sneaking him scraps when Austin wasn't looking.

When Austin returned Jude grabbed for the lapels of the man's coat, hauling him towards him for another kiss. "Am I ever, Pooky!" He cooed, reaching down to pinch the man's backside. "I'll race you!" He grinned devilishly, turning to grab for the door handle, tossing it open and bailing as fast as he could. He didn't stop until he'd reached his car, unlocking it and flinging himself lazily into the front seat, trying to look chill even as his breathing was sped up with the excitement.

Austin went to take off after the man but was forced to stop and lock the door. "I hope you trip!" He called out after the man. He didn't really want him to trip, just lose somehow. After the door was shut and locked he jogged after him and once he reached the car slid into the seat."Cheater." He grinned at him.

"So where are we going? Restaurant? Pub? Karaoke bar perhaps?" To Austin it didn't matter, as long as Jude was with him he'd be just as happy as he was when they stayed in for the evening. Though he did kinda enjoy the thought of not having to cook for that evening. "We could always hit up one of those swanky new movie theaters that have real food and beer. But then I couldn't talk and continue to get on your nerves if we did that my sugar plum."He gave the man a big toothy grin this time as he picked his cheek. Yep one of the would be in trouble tonight, which could be both good and bad depending on howyou look it.

"Cheat? I would NEVER! I am just fast, and you are getting old. Obviously. I've got my youthful exuberance on my side, Hughes." He laughed, knowing full well they were the same age this year, both twenty nine and acting like they were still nineteen. "Up for some punch drunk love? A bit of the old wet your whistle." He put on an accent, giving an exaggerated wink before sobering somewhat, taking a more serious expression on. "What I mean to say is, let's go to a pub. Food, drinks, and an open mic/karaoke night... You down, clown? You cool fool? You in, sweetikins?"

Jude leant across to steal a final kiss before buckling in and starting the car, steering out onto the street. "So... Any news for me? Any excitement in your life i've missed?"

"Honey," Austin cut his eyes over to Judah. "You're faster than me, not younger." He smirked. He could of called him and old man and made a comment about him being the head of his church, while Austin was still a youth pastor, focusing on youth, but it didn't really mean much.

A chuckle came from him as he returned the kiss. "Pub is fine, snuggle bunny." He buckled up and relaxed into the seat and the car began to move. "Well I'm helping one of the youths with an art project. She wants to use some of the photos that I took while in Nepal, so I'm having to go through the time consuming task of looking at every single one I took."He was being overly dramatic by making it sound a lot harder than it really was. He didn't mind doing it at all. It kept him busy in what would normally be down time.

"I might also be getting a roommate. Not one hundred percent sure just yet." The woman had contacted him about his spare room but they hadn't set up a date for her to come check things out just yet. He was hopeful though. It would be nice to have someone who could watch after the place when he went on long missions trip, or just trips in general.
