More Commands, Mode

Hi. If you click on the More Commands button there is a Mode option with things like Sentry and Retaliation. I cannot find information about these different settings in the Wiki. They aren't on the More Commands page. What do they do? Getting bitten and ending up in a random place on the grid sucks, so an option to retaliate etc sounds cool. Thanks!

IIRC (bear in mind, the grid isn't exactly my forte), retaliation mode makes it so that your character will attack back anyone who tries to attack them, though because it's like a standard skirmish attack, they may or may not hit accurately.

Sentry mode is like that, but it will make your character swipe at anyone on their 'enemy' list, on the relationship page of the character menu dropdown (top left corner). See here for more details.

Sentinel is exactly like Sentry mode, but more accurate. However you have to buy a relic to use it. Sentinel's Gauntlet I think is what it's called.

The last mode (Flee I think it is), makes it so you have for your character to displace after being attacked. Means that the ones attacking them have to track them down again.

Currently the only power effecting the modes is 'Vigilance'. And normally, each mode takes 1 energy per hour they are active, deducting it from your hourly energy gain.

Thanks for pointing out that wasn't on the wiki, by the way. I've added a note to the talk page. If you find any other gaps, feel free to bring them up. <3

Thanks for the information. When everyone on the grid shows up as human, it's difficult to try and work out who's potentially going to bite you!

My only advice for that would be to stick to high security areas. There are certain banks that work really well, for example. I would also avoid areas that are traditionally high traffic for vampires, like the caverns, catacombs, sewers, etc. Those tend to make human characters stick out like a sore thumb.

But if you do find your character bitten a lot, you can always just buy blood packs for them from the shops.

The very best way to deal with the problem you are having is, if you know anybody with one or can find one, the Sanguivore's Bane relic. You still lose blood but aren't displaced, and your attacker loses a pint rather than gaining one. Teach 'em real fast to bite on populous areas. >:D

sentinel is close to, but not exactly like sentry...sentry aims for people on your enemies list, sentinel hits anyone that enters your sqr. in regards to your original post, keep in mind that biting is not considered an attack, and none of those will work on the vampire. Although the 'Bane is the best solution it is very hard for a new human to get one, unless they know established players that can hook them up... the easier and sure method is the one that azraeth brought up, high security squares for resting.... while most choose banks, there are actually methods that some nefarious vampires use...*whistles innocently* to bite all the humans located on a single place, such as wickbridge bank, etc... but you can find even higher security places by stopping on b&e areas [ie factory warehouse, office] that have high initial security...many of these can start at 5-8 security with noone on them, so just 2-3 security jacks them higher than most vampires will attempt. this is how i park my thralls, and they are never bitten. Within a dedicated hunting area, one a 'bane' will help you, along with the fact that most vamps are now leery of biting humans camped in those spots cause most that do have banes. If you have any more questions, be sure to ask, even though humans are tasty, most of us will help you out *winks*
