We are adding to your duties (Yuri)

Wilson had not had a chance to do as much digging as he had hoped. It took him a while to nail down the names that tied back to the shell companies that had a myriad front companies interlaced leading to dead end after dead end. Just when he thought he had made progress.. his administrative assistant Stella quit. She just up and quit. That meant that it was now going to take double the amount of time to get information, because he didn’t have that extra set of eyes to pull and duplicate records. Apparently, Stella felt her life as an administrative assistant wasn't as fulfilling as her possible life with a concert Roadie missing his two front teeth.

It took another couple of days before he managed to hire someone to replace Stella, even though she didn't have that much experience. He hoped that she was a quick study. He didn’t have that much time to train her, and this job was pressing on him. He had to pull his weight. Wilson knew he couldn’t be wrong on this one. Mistakes could be a death sentence to someone and as long as that someone was guilty as hell, he didn’t mind fingering them. But he knew if he was wrong.. he would lose sleep over it for a least a week. He hated when that happened.

Wilson was just about the close up the office for the night, when his email dinged, letting him know he had gotten mail. He read it. It was from his new administrative assistant. She was just sharing her email address with him, and asking about the next day. It was a fortuitous email. He thanked her and replied, with her duties. Since he had already given her the key to the office, he didn't have to show up in the morning to tell her what to do. This way, he could go straight to the stake out, to follow the man he thought was leader of the Triad.

Yuri was typing up an entry for her online journal when she received a mail from her new boss. Clicking the notification, the email pops up on her screen.
Thank you. I Have been busy with a case.. When you
get into the office tomorrow; there is a file on
my desk with a list of names. I need you to go the
court house and pull any records you can find on
them.

I will be in, in the afternoon.

Yuri replied with a simple 'noted' before continuing her journal entry. She went to sleep that night wondering what kind of case was he working on but didn't manage to ponder on it for long as sleep soon claimed her. The day's job hunting (which finally ended in success) and grocery shopping had exhausted her. Looks like some stamina training was in order.

The next morning, Yuri was up early, dropped by the office she was going to be returning to frequently (or at least she hoped to for as long as she could), and found an envelope sitting on Wilson's table. She opened the envelope swiftly and withdrew a piece of paper from it.

'Park Jae-sung... a fellow Korean. Wonder what he did. Huang Bingwen, Takeda Akito, Nguyen Cai-Be' She scanned the list briefly making sure it was the one Wilson had mentioned before leaving the office and making her way to the court house at a brisk pace.

As she passed people on the walk way, men and women alike stared at her. Yuri brushed it off being used to it, she was a foreigner here after all. Always had been since the age of 7. There was also the fact that she used to be a model, so who could blame the poor souls? She cheers herself up and smiled at the next person that looked her way.

Refocusing herself, she soon arrives at the court house with a little direction help from passer-bys. As she passes the security guards, she greets them with a slight nod of her head and a faint smile before heading in the direction of the front counter staff and queried where she could find the records. It was her first time here after all. After identifying herself as Wilson's new assistant, Yuri finds herself logging into a terminal and pulling out record after record on the people whom were on the list and any other little information she could find on them.

After half an hour worth of researching, the 18 year old could no longer find anything else on the listed people and leaves the court house satisfied after printing out the records she had gathered. On her way back to the office, Yuri realized she was famished and checked her watch to find that it was already noon. She happily stops by a cafe and bought two sets of sandwiches accompanied with a coffee and a tea not sure which one Wilson would prefer. If memory served her right, he would be coming into the office any time now.

With that note in mind, Yuri rushed back to the office managing not to spill the drinks and place the records on Wilson's desk along with the club sandwich and both drinks before sitting down at her own to enjoy her meal.

It had been a long morning. Long and disappointing. Wilson had hoped to pin down the main leader of the Triad, but it had been a total bust. A waste. Well no.. not a complete waste, because he had been able to categorically discount all the names on his list. As he headed back to the office, he held out little hope that his assistant had found anything either. It was frustrating. He needed a break. They needed to find that ever elusive key man.

Entering the office, Wilson paused. He smelled coffee. Good coffee, coffee that had that revitalizing effect on people. Not the cheap kind. Then he saw it. His assistant had brought him food and.. coffee. As soon as he could swing it, she was getting a raise. Stella never brought coffee, much less food. She went out of her way to tell him it was sexist and demeaning. More and more he was realizing, the day that toothless Roadie swept Stella off her feet, was the best day of his life!

“Thank you!” Wilson looked at Yuri with a genuinely appreciative face, then he saw files stacked neatly on his desk, he took a large drink from the coffee. “Nice..” he savored it for a moment before saying, “So any trouble? Everything go alright?” He didn’t wait for her to answer as he started to scan the documents she had brought back with her. He was adept at multitasking, and would be hearing everything she said, even though it would look like he wasn't paying attention. It was one of his little gifts. People would think he wasn’t paying attention and they would say something that he could then use to his advantage.

Taking a bite from the sandwich, he paused and looked at Yuri pointedly. He chewed for a moment, swallowed then said, “If a call comes in from the Night Lords, or the Handle Bar.. put them through. They are our clients. They have us on retainer. So we keep them happy. If they are happy, they pay their bills on time, we get paid on time.” He paused, “Which brings me to point number two. At times there will be the need to deliver documents to the Handle Bar.” He paused again. “I want you to be careful. It’s not located in the best of areas.. and it’s a biker bar. Only go during the day. Never at night. Got it?” Another pause, “How do you feel about carrying a concealed weapon? Not that you would ever have to use it.. but better safe than sorry…”

Yuri had just finished her meal when the sound of the office door opening caught her attention. Looking up, she finds Wilson entering looking none too happy. Upon spotting the meal that awaited him like a sitting duck on his desk, the man brightened considerably.

"Good afternoon! Bad day?" She greeted and smiled faintly at his gratefulness for the meal, specifically the coffee from the way he savored it. Yuri made a mental note to get coffee from that same cafe from then onward if time allowed.

She took a quick sip of her tea to wash down some of her lunch before going to stand by Wilson.

"There were no problems acquiring the records. I simply told them i was your new assistant and will be heading there whenever you need me to starting today." She reported.

She nodded to his words, just to show she had been listening, even taking out a piece of paper and pen to note down the stuff he said knowing herself to be rather forgetful. The recently legal teen didn't want to mess up her first proper job by simply forgetting something.

'Delivery of documents to a biker bar? I guess he does business there often? Does he own a bike?' Yuri wondered and sneaked a glance at him but it ended up being an outright blank stare. One that would easily be noticed.

"Got it. A weapon? I guess it would be good but... I've never used one before." She told him without a moment's consideration, her eyes blank.

Having been brought up in Singapore for the majority of her life, there was no chance for usage of a weapon and neither did they allow people to own weapons there, much less carry it around. So to say, Yuri was being exposed to something extremely foreign. She was not against learning to wield it though, just that it may require some time.
