Clicki for Wiki Explanation
So I’ve always had this dark desire to turn one of my Vampires into a Necurat. <.<
I’ve given the linked Wiki page a read a number of times now and it makes me kinda excited still. However, I just wanted to know first before I go ahead with my dastardly plan, what are your experiences with Necuratism.
- Do you like the idea, as a player?
- Do you not like it?
- Do you think it’s valuable to the story/game?
- Does it add something or take away something from the story/game/your character?
- Is your character a Necurat?
- What is it like to play a Necurat RP/Grid wise?
- What is your character’s opinion of Necurats and Necuratism?
It would be super cool to hear your opinions. :3

1) I'm neutral on the idea, it has its uses. It was great when it first came out, you had that extra power. It was taken away, and now people go down that route in my opinion for the writing plots.
2) I do.
3) It was, but then it was nerfed. Now as said before it's just for plot lines now.
4) I don't know. It depends on the players preference I think.
5) Opal is, yes. I made her one for RP purposes before she was turned she was a sorcerer/blood thief, she went through a phase when drinking vampire blood gave her power, a buzz. She misses that buzz and fed on her sire (Kallista) to get that feeling back. Old habits die hard.
6) You feed through the more commands section of the grid, it's okay to feed on. If you have a willing donor.
7) Opal doesn't know what this is. She still thinks she's a blood thief, as she feeds on vampire blood.

- Do you like the idea, as a player? I have no preference one way or another. All my characters that know about this 'lifestyle' have differing views on it, but me, a player? IDC one way or another.
- Do you not like it? Not at all.
- Do you think it’s valuable to the story/game? It's not valuable for grid play-it's more damaging than value for a couple reasons.
1. If you don't have a donor and just take, people will be pissed and potential negative story lines/concepts.
2. A lot of powers have no use for n-rats. Well, maybe not a lot, but a couple. Lure Human is one of those. Summon spirit-no one's gonna let you take 3 pints instead of one. Maybe, but is rare.
- Does it add something or take away something from the story/game/your character?
It takes away powers from the grid aspect of things and potential rp too. Like, Ric is an n-rat, and in reality, no way would he -not- get summon spirits to help faction out, but I can't get it for him, because good luck getting blood off people. But, for Ric, being an n-rat is the way to go. He was a bt for a long time and this was just 'natural' to him. So it just made sense to me to take him that way.
- Is your character a Necurat? Yes. Just Ric atm. Never know what the future holds. >.>
- What is it like to play a Necurat RP/Grid wise?
Other than the powers not being able to be utilized...no different to anything else. ;)
- What is your character’s opinion of Necurats and Necuratism?
As I said above, each have different views, but Ric...doesn't see anything as bad or good. This was just a natural progression for him. Does he flaunt it? No. He is aware it's not a likeable practice, but nothing Ric does is overly likeable. so >.>

Mordechai was one of the first, he turned the day it came out. To me, because i concentrate on grid play, it is now just a useless item for rp only. As some have said, it makes grid play harder with no discernible advantage. Once it was nerfed on grid, i dumped it, cause it was useless except for pretty stories.

It's true in the sense for pretty stories/plotlines
Opal/Kelly are having a dispute about Opal's taste for vampire blood. >.> it's funsies. He thinks shes feral. Opal doesn't think she's feral.

That's some awesome insight right there. Thank you guys. :3
What is this power you speak of, however? The one that was nerfed? >.>
ETA: Stupid auto-correct. I meant AWESOME not AWFUL!

N'rats used to gain exp (and pxp?) faster than regular vampies.

had a base of 20 blood instead of 10, 2 pxp per night, I dont remember extra xp just for being one, but the added blood let you fiught bigger creatures, and added pxp let you get powers faster which strengthened the char and let you gain more xp.
the only draw back, was that death was permanent, not a vacation in the SR

That’s kinda shitty, I won’t sugar-coat it. :/
I presume that since all the benefits (PXP/blood count boost) were eliminated, that the permanent death thing is also gone?
Seems like something of an extreme compromise when you consider that you’re more likely to die as a Necurat due to the culture of Harper Rock. >.>
Had that unbalance anything to do with why it was eliminated?
I still think it's cool for RP, regardless.
