"You have email"

Sovereign liked technology. He loved it. Whenever he ventured down into the sewers he was even careful only to travel in areas that his phone wouldn't lose signal, it was that important to him. Not that traveling in the sewers happened often, as his prefered position of choice was sat on a chair infront of a computer.
Today was no exception.
As he sat browsing CrowNet in one tab and Battlefield 2 strategies in another, his eyes flickered to the corner of the screen as he noticed the little envelope sign pop up, indicating that he had a new email awaiting him.
Expecting it to be confirmation of his purchase of Empire: Total War through Steam, he was surprised to see that it was something totally different. From an uncle he never knew he had.. In Nigeria.. who needed his bank details in order to release a large sum of money, of which a certain share he'd keep.
Sovereign had of course come across these kinds of scams as a human, before his rebirth. He'd been told once that these scammers had programs that needed only a list of email addresses to be fed into it, and it'd automatically churn out dozens and dozens of these kinds of emails, some asking for money and some for bank information in the hope that someone might fall for it.
He thought that this attempt was pretty poor.
Then he thought that for them to keep doing it, eventually the emails must get to people that would fall for it. Perhaps the oldest in the city, the ones not quite used to emails and these kinds of “scams” might be easy targets for it?
Finally, he figured that an automatic program churning out these emails might not be so difficult to create…
