Reboot (Kale)

Charlie needed a night out, needed something to clear her mind. Of course, when one had a photographic memory and was always connected mentally to the Internet, clearing one's mind was always a bit tricky. In this case, coming to a place filled with electronics probably wasn't the best idea, but the music was something that spoke to her. Plus, people here were often nerds like her. She was in dire need of getting her Nerdy on.
The techno music thrummed through her the moment she entered Nightmode and it brought a smile to her face. She let her chocolate eyes travel the area, the games, the computers, the bar. Oh yes! The bar! She nearly skipped over to it and leaned against it, waiting for someone to take her order. Yes, she could have gone to Lancaster's to get a drink, but tonight it was the atmosphere she wanted more than the drink. Waiting sucked, but it allowed her to take in those who were in the gamer's dream. The people playing the arcade games, the people playing the computer games, the thieves ripping people off, the gangsters and their shady deals. There were all kinds of people here tonight.

He'd followed the scent of death inside.
So many within this place. The noises were strange, dizzying. Rings and zips and bells and blips.
Kale smouldered a growl as he stepped through the building's door, ducking to keep his forehead from smacking into the building's ceiling. At almost eight feet in height, he was a difficult frame to encompass in any building.
The roof of the place - this ... A ... R ... C ... A ... D ... E .... Arc... ade?
Whatever it was, it could have been taller.
He didn't bother to hide his fangs. They could not retract, and most "goth" humans seemed to think they were cosmetic. What was the point in hiding the secret amongst those that emulated it?
Kale's worn combat boots dock-docked over the concrete ground as he explored this strange place of light and laser. Humans crowded around small arcade machines. Blinking lights and mashed buttons took a back seat to the stench of blood and sweat and excitement and... food..
His throat rumbled a coal-deep growl and he looked over at the bar, searching for the strongest scent.
There it was, at the bar. Making niceties with a bartender. She smelled delicious, like the scent humans chased at the cooking fire.
Kale's thirst stirred lazily within his mind, his conscious thoughts immediately focused razor-sharp on this one. Yet.... she smelled.... different, somehow...
He made for her immediately, hands flexing involuntarily, anticipating either the hunt or the talk. Kale did not talk much. Words frustrated and evaded him. But Mother would want him to learn. Mother would want talk.
For Mother, he would talk.
"Kale," he rumbled, voice a smouldering furnace as he approached the female. He didn't hold out his hand, barely even inclined his head. Already, the angry feeling of discomfort threatened to wel within him. His black cotton shirt - sleeves rolled up roughly and stained here and there with blood - raised up and down gently with his measured, deep breathing and freakish lungs.
How must his introduction have looked to this poor female? A demonic-breathing, sabre-toothed behemoth with more muscles than the entire Mr Universe contest had simply arrived before her and spoke his name.
Kale did not know.
Hunt, or Talk.
The girl would choose.

"What can I get you?"
Charlie looked around to the bartender as he spoke to her, so with her back to the door, she had not seen the large man enter the club, instead she glanced at the drink list and then smirked a little as she replied "Sex on the beach, thanks." She added a little wink and then turned back just in time to see the large male heading her way. She hadn't seen a male as large as him since 'The Orc' as she so enjoyed calling the guy, of course, he probably hadn't enjoyed that nickname which is probably why she hadn't seen hide nor hair of the guy in nearly a year.
The closer the male got, the more she could see of him, and it was the fangs that she spotted that sealed the deal. Charlie began to wonder if he was coming to her, but then she had been so alone for so long, she could use a good talk with someone. And this one, she hadn't seen him before, she didn't have an idea of who he was - that is until he offered his name to her. The bar tender tapped her on the shoulder and she glanced back just long enough to pay for her drink before she glanced up at the male. "Hello Kale, I'm Charlie." She said softly and then raised the drink to her lips and took a sip of the sweet drink. Oh how she wished she could feel the effects of the liquor, not that there was much in the drink. The bartender must have pegged her for a feather weight.
As she lowered the drink, she glanced to the seat that was vacated almost as soon as it became clear that the large man was heading her way. "Would you like to sit down?" She asked with a gentle tone, once more bringing the drink to her lips and taking another sip of the drink. "You're new to town aren't you?" She added, it was one of those 'here's your sign' kind of questions, but she had been surprised before.
