Rise of the New gods is a new browser-based MMO that's just gone into open beta today. Choose to be the god or goddess of practically anything you like, and establish yourself as a powerful deity.

Gain disciples, recruit champions, perform miracles, quest for dozens of new abilities, answer prayers, and engage in turn-based tactical combat against rival gods or monsters, for honour, pantheon or territory! Each time you gain a new rank you'll unlock more powerful aspects for your character to rule over, and eventually you'll be able to establish your own temple in one of the world's many regions. Gain enough disciples and become a supreme deity of your chosen aspect, or even the almighty of dark / light or chaos!

Though the game is focussed mainly on roleplaying and PVP, the aim in Rise of the New Gods is what ever you choose it to be.

It's similar to Path of the Vampire in many ways, but much easier to learn. One of the main differences you'll find in Rise is that there's no overnight gang-banging of offline people; the battle system in this game allows for you to plan your next move, call in allies to join the battle, and even gives luck bonuses to those who are outnumbered (fortune favours the brave, after all).

There's still a lot of work to be done, but it's shaping up nicely. If you enjoyed Path or RBC it's worth a look.

Rise of the New Gods is dedicated to Monica AKA Majica, who asked me many times over the years for me to make this game, and was very excited when I told her I would make it happen. Sadly, she passed away around a month ago. As such, there is an in-game temple dedicated to the muse and mother of Rise, Monica. We miss you.
