--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
* Mayhem wandered in as he got off the phone with a thrall that was shouting about him running out on work and leaving him to take care of everything.* Piers was sitting at the table. He'd pulled his chair out from the table and leaned back in it, one leg propped up on the table and the other on the floor. He had his eyes closed and he didn't bother turning around. "Hey, Ginger. What'd you bring me, babe? I'm hungry."
* Mayhem smacked the other on the back of the head, ".... I'm not a ginger, your babe, or going to feed you."
* Piers hissed and slowly brought his chair back on its four legs. He sat up straighter and turned his head to pout at the man. "It's you, so you are a babe, at least. What brings you to my temporary abode?"
* Mayhem twitched, "Babe refers to a small child or a lover -usually a woman, I am none of those." He sighed and leaned against the table, next to the man to stare down, "This is one of Eve's places. I was just coming to see if she was here since she wasn't in her Hotel room."
* Piers nodded along to what the man was saying, mostly trying to be polite. He would say what he wanted, but he wasn't a complete asshole. "She's not. You just missed her," he lied, shrugging his shoulders. Piers hadn't seen Eve for some time. He folded his hands atop the table and grinned at Jayd. "Feel free to have a seat."
* Mayhem listened to the man talk. Damn. Oh well. Seeing Eve was only one of his objectives; the other was because he was in the area and ran away from Dante who was trying to get him to go to an unimportant business party. He eyed that grin, distrustingly, "I'm leaning comfortably against the table, aren't I? I like it like this, I can look down at you." He had a smug look on his sarcastic-assed little face. "What've you been up to since your change?"
* Piers scoffed, shaking his head at Jayd. Of course the guy had to ruin their moment by being such a smug ********. Piers leaned forward then and put his head down on folded arms. "I've been forwarding calls and avoiding ****. When I'm not feeling like I'm fifteen years old, breaking into old ladies' sheds." He made a very simple statement in reference to his issues with breaking and entering.
* Mayhem snickered, "Is breaking into old ladies sheds to get over the pain of not feeling the joys of your merchandise? Or are you like me, one of those of us that can still feel the effects of Toxins? If not, I'm sure I can offer you something to keep you busy and your mind off it."
* Piers licked his lips, his tongue darting out as if he were suddenly in need of a drink. "I haven't tried. I attracted too much attention," he frowned, trailing off. He looked hungry for answers and for something more. "What kind of distraction are you talking about? You want me to lift things for you, babe?"
* Mayhem raised a hand like he wanted to smack Piers on the head again for calling him babe. But he pushed the hand into his pocket, "It can be kinda awkward working at your human job after changing, and if I recall you said you did Mechanic work?"
* Piers hid his own smug smile and nodded, "Yeah. I did. I'm still a mechanic. Every now and then, I actually go to work." He'd never been a good employee, so it wasn't much of a surprise that nothing changed. Sometimes he had to leave early or stay late; his hours were weird. "I spend most of time avoiding the crowd I was running with. That means avoiding my job."
* Mayhem dug into his shoulder bag and snagged out a pamphlet Dante had been working on for Jayd's newest business, "It's still under construction, but it's open."
* Piers politely plucked the pamphlet from the man's hands and looked it over, flipping the pages open. "You're offering me a job at Malevolent Machinery," he stated, looking up from the pages with raised brows. "You haven't seen my work. You know next to **** about me. You'd be taking a risk." He closed the pamphlet and lightly tapped it against Jayd's arm.
* Mayhem Shrugged, "I get sent all of the new kids in Andras, at least I'm aware you have a background in Mechanics. You said so when you were high, people lack that little thing in their head that keeps them from saying the truth when they're mind is not right due to influences from substances. Even if not that, at that time of our meeting, you'd have no reason to lie to me. It's not like I was a girl to impress and drag back to your pad with speaking of a good job."
* Piers pressed his lips together in thought. He folded the pamphlet in two and stuff it down into the right pocket of his jeans. "My charm is usually enough," he joked, "but I'll take you up on the offer. I'd like to work at your shop."
* Mayhem grinned, sardonically. He held his sides, laughing a sound that sounded way to sinister to be a friendly laugh. He eyed the other man with an evil glint in his eyes, "Good luck working your charm here. Dante --my thrall-- if you don't know what those are, ask someone else, takes most control of the workers."
