Mortll looks at her watch she wasn't in the best of moods boredom had set in and when that happened she usually came up with some idea or project that got her into major trouble usually the type that ended up with her in the shadow realm for a week or so ... Doc had put a stop to most of that, She was never bored around him she could be with him, he would just be reading or something and she couldn't find it in herself to be one bit discontent. Here she was in a bar full of people and bored as ******* hell. A waitress approached her Pretty thing with Blonde hair and fake nails , Mortll bet the boobs were not real either. She read the name tag on the woman's tight shirt where the aforementioned were about to pop out of their lodging. It said Jane a grin appeared on her face it was time to try her new trick out

The waitress sat a drink down on the table and said it was from the gentleman at the bar Mortll glanced over at the obvious looser and grabbed the waitress by the wrist. The woman looked stunned and her gaze became intent on Mortll then she shook her head "Go take the drink and throw it in the mans face" .... she said it in a low voice The woman nodded and "Said yes Miss" in a low voice She walked over and threw the drink into the mans face it dripped from him as anger contorted his features. Mortll said "hit him with the glass " in the woman's mind and Jane looked startled as she smashed the glass against his temple "Now hit him in the nose and kick him in the nuts and Say I Quit"

The waitress was shaking as the man lay crumpled up on the floor moaning, the bar tender was screaming at her to get out. She had a blank look on her face then suddenly burst into tears and ran out the door.
Mortll smiled wickedly as she got up and left the bar She found the girl outside mascara leaving wicked trails down her face and she was blubbering about going to loose her apartment. Mortll handed her a silk hanky and a business card ... I need a personal assistant I like how you handled yourself back there .. you just have to do errands for me and help me keep things in order Its a live in job you get your own room ... What do you say Just Jane ?

Just Jane looked at her in awe she couldn't believe what she was hearing Mortll nodded The woman started to ask what else she had to do Mortll was in her head in a second saying "don't ask" ... Just Jane smiled "Where do i go Miss Mortll?"Mortll smiled" that's a good girl "she thought at the woman. The woman had not a clue what she had unwittingly gotten herself into by just having the name Jane but Mortll was going to test her limits hopefully she didn't break her too soon. She sent the girl off with some money to the mall to buy a new wardrobe and gave her the address to her Ivy bluff apartment with directions to have the maid service clean it for her personal use . Mortll decided the rest of the night could be spent with a nice long walk out near the river she was soon taking a path that her and Charles had taken before smiling with and humming with a little pip to her step

Jane: Shaking hands grasp the phone and dial the number .

Doc: He was surprised to see her number, "Hello Mortll." Wouldn't it be a kick in the teeth if she knew before he did too.

Jane: Jane waits impatiently as a string of curse words echoed behind her The woman was going to die " Hello relief are you her Doctor she needs a doctor I didn't mean to do it but .. "Mortll yelled "Don't go near my blood damn you get me some more towels and there is a medical kit what the hell are you doing ***** hurry up ." The shaking voice of Jane continued "Could you please come help me ... I accidently shot her "

Doc: He recognized Mortll's voice, "Who the **** are you? And where the **** are you?"

Jane: "Jane, I'mmm Jane and I'm at a flower shop some funny sounding name its in Honeymead next to West Towers Please can you hurry "

Doc: "Where did you shoot her ? Do not tell me the flower shop, where on the body?"

Jane: "Her... her shoulder its bleeding and she wont let me touch her or call a ambulance So I took her phone to see if she had a Doctor on it ... You are her Doctor right?"
Mortll let out another string of curse words "Where are those towels and I need that kit Hurry your *** up will you "

Doc: *Doc didn't bother to drive, he hit a portal straight to Honeymead. He was at Mortll's flower shop in less than ten minutes. He had only sidetracked enough to get his medical bag. Striding in, he called for her.* MORTLL! *his tone brooked no argument

Mortll: Mortll jumped as she heard him calling her name she Glared at the blonde as the woman ran towards the door "***** if you had anything to do with him showing up I'm going to ******* kill you . I'm in here she called from the couch in her office ."

Doc: Doc headed toward the back, shoving past a blonde, giving her a look that clearly said, 'stfu'. Doc was in a foul mood. Was it Mortll's fault? No. It was something he should have known better about. he tried levity, it fell flat, "Shooting yourself for my attention, though effective, unnecessary." He looked at her face, he knew enough to keep his blank. She deserved someone not chained to a crazy liar. He broke his gaze away and started cutting the fabric from the wound.

Mortll: She glared at him her eyes had reverted to narrow slits ... her Dragomir heritage showing through "I didn't ******* shoot myself and I didn't ******* call you I'm going to kill that little ***** when I get my hands on her .... I can dig the thing out myself you know ... and how the hell did you find out I was shot anyway?" she glanced towards the door where Jane was shuffling nervously from one foot to another she let out a small whimper at Mortlls gaze and ran out the door "

Doc: "Fine. My apologies on invading your personal space. " He voice polite and professional. Had it been Cat, Minx, **** even Cytherea, he would have said '**** you, shut the **** up' and gone to work. But not with Mortll. No. He knew she had her boundaries and he respected them. He sat the medical bag down beside her. "Feel free to use what you need." He would not be recollecting it. He even tossed a bone to the blonde, "Your neighbor was concerned when they heard gunfire." He lied evenly. "Be sure to rest once you get it out." He turned and left.

Mortll: Mortll picked the bag up and flung it at his retreating head ... she grimaced at the pain in her shoulder as she had to get up and retrieve a pair of forceps and sterilized them again, pulling the bloody bullet out of her shoulder she bandaged it and found one of her work shirts curling up on the sofa His scent was still heavy in the air and the pain in her chest outmatched the pain in her shoulder.

Mortll: Jane looks at the new apartment building she was supposed to be going to the new apartment and taking measurements for new drapes... she got on the elevator and punched at the number 4 the elevator opened and she got out and looked around (the elevator door closes and # is clearly lit up above its stainless steel doors )

Mortll: Jane looked at the paper again her vision blurred all this staying awake at night had gotten to her . She got off the elevator and went to the apartment door all she needed to do was get window measurements Mortll had been adamant that she not **** this up ... Jane had been so frightened but the woman had taken her in and given her so many nice things ... She barely did look at the apartment door The knob turned freely in her hand The place was beautiful Mortll did have excellent taste she went to measure the first window and her vision blurred again she couldn't read the tape measure Maybe if she just rested her eyes a moment She sat down on the bed ... and was soon fast asleep .

Doc: It had been a long day. He found out he turned ANOTHER one by merely feeding. He sighed, he just wanted to get back to the sanctuary. The one place that was his. Not his and the spawns. Not his and the Ball and Chain. Not his and the Sire.. or his and the faction.. the one.. that was just plain.. HIS. The sun was about to come up and he was dead tired after being up for nearly 20 hours. He didn't even bother to undress, he just feel face first on to his bed.

Mortll: Jane felt the weight of the man on the bed and she came up shrieking and flailing. She bounced off the bed and started screaming at the top of her lungs. She started to make a run for the door and call the cops when she made it to safety. The man had broken into Mortlls apartment but as she made a run for the door her heal on her shoe twisted and gave way snapping off. She flew face first into the hallway in a ungraceful sprawl .


Doc: The shrieking startled him into a bolt right position, he was on his feet in a nanosecond, hand gun pulled and aimed into the back of the of the burglar. He racked the gun, chambering the bullet, as he spit out through gritted teeth. "WHAT the ****.. ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" He seethed. He had just come off 12 hours of surgery.. to a ******* burglar. "You want your next syllables to count."

Mortll: Jane was scrambling backwards on her *** trying to regain her footing when she heard the question " What am i doing here What are you doing In Mortlls apartment ? "Her voice was shaking "Nobody is supposed to be here ..." She screwed up her courage " Im Im going to call the police if you don't get out "


Doc: "Yes.. you do that.. and they will find that I... am the owner of ###.. not Mortll..."

Mortll: Jane looked mortified Ohhh my God ... this is ### ? Im so sorry ... then she noticed who the man was holding the gun ... her face went pale '' Ohhh god noooo she started to wail please You cant tell her .... she will kill me you please don't tell her that i did this .... after ... " Sobs started to wrack her body and her chest was heaving . ' Please Doctor ... "

Doc: "SHUT THE **** UP OR I WILL **** SHOOT YOU!"
Doc: Doc seethed. He wasn't sleepy now. ****! "Get. Out." He He counted.
Doc: "Now."

Mortll: That's all she had to hear she was scrambling for the door it wasn't until the elevator doors closed behind her that she felt she could even breath again Mortll wasn't going to be happy Mortll would probably do what the Doctor had threatened to do if she found out ... but how long could she hide .

Mortll: Mortll really didn't want to do this ... She doubted he even wanted to hear from her but under the circumstances it was something that needed to be done and She was the one that had to do it She expected him to bent out of shape and he would probably not even listen but she would have to try at least . She picked up her phone and dialed his number .

Doc: Doc answered the phone, his voice was tired, weary almost. He hadn't slept the previous day, and now he just laid awake staring at the ceiling because of the Blonde Bimbo. "Yea..." The slang word was used versus his usual clearly enunciated words.

Mortll: Mortll bit her lip he sounded tired she almost hung up " Im Sorry Jane bothered you ... You wont be seeing her again if she broke anything or did anything just send me the bill and ill get it fixed .... You sound tired are you ok ?"

Mortll: she didn't mean to ask the last part it just came out once it was out there she couldn't take it back she should have just texted him .

Mortll: "Im sorry you should have shot her i almost did If it makes you feel better she's shoveling **** until she has blisters on her hands for the next week Thats one thing she can't possibly **** up " she paused "You really need your rest ... you don't get enough sleep never have ... I should let you go "

Mortll: She was thinking about how he would sleep after she gave him a massage and was trying desperately to push the thoughts out of her head

Doc: "I know I should.. which is why I am lying here staring at the ceiling, willing myself to get sleepy once more." He paused, "How are you?"

Mortll: "as well as can be expected Shoulder is better. Don't think about sleep .... Think about the water in Rio ... and how it sounded the waves on the beach and the balmy air and ocean breezes You will be sleeping like a baby in no time "

Doc: "Yea.. I'll give it a try..Oh hey.. do me a favor.. Don't tell anyone about this place.. I lose more places.. once people know. Spawns move in.. a friend of a friend of someone needs a place for a few nights.. and then I never get it back. I just want one place .. for me. Alright?"

Mortll: Mortll laughed "I promise i wont I bought a place there as well Jane was supposed to get me curtain measurements Im sorry she invaded your privacy You've still got keys to my Trailer if you need a quick comfortable place near your work I don't go there ..." Her voice cracked she had started to say she had bought the place in Sanctuary to be by herself again to be away from all the memories that her place in West towers held. She bit her lip. God why did this have to be so difficult... She couldn't make him do anything he didn't want to do. She didn't want someone that didn't want her... She sighed audibly, "Your secret is safe with me."

Doc: Doc heard the sigh, he couldn't even imagine how or what this must be like for her. It started out .. the of them having fun. Someone to talk to, someone to laugh with at the stupid **** people posted on the crow; but then it changed. They both went into this saying, 'you need to pull the trigger.. pull it.. ' but somewhere along the line it changed. But **** him, if he knew when it happened. 'For what it is worth, and I am not saying this to piss you off; or to upset you.. I want you to know, I do not regret 'us'. Not one bit. Even if my language went to hell because of you."

Mortll: She closed her eyes "I didn't end this ... you gave it up because well you don't know what you want ... i understand that but Every time i'm around you is like wanting you To have what i had and that isn't possible because of well you. So it makes it hard i don't know what to feel it's like a ******* roller coaster; happy to see you walk in the door and pissed at you all at the same time. I just can't really believe that you want to be with her ... It makes this so ******* confusing. I feel like I went from a solid ‘know who i am’ person to a ‘total ******* mess’; That needs to get back how she was. But that person no longer exists because of you." Her voice had been steady but it cracked "I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep but every time i try It feels like something is missing.”

Mortll: “So your not the only one not sleeping well..”

Doc: Doc was silent for a long moment. "I don't expect your understanding. I really don't. But I .. she's my wife. As much as I want to be with you.. I also want to be with her. It is an untenable situation. We, you and I, had something good. Cyth and I .. we had something great for a short period of time.. before it all went to hell. Will it ever be great again? I have no idea. Do I have to try.. ? Yes. I do. I may be acting the fool. Probably am."

Mortll: "I understand ... I really do and that just makes it even harder ... I knew better than to get my hopes up ... I didn't really expect you to love me ... But it hurt when you didn't. That sounds like crazy lady talk i know," she laughed a tight little tense laugh.

Doc: "You sell yourself short. You and I are a lot alike in that regard."

Mortll: What the **** was that supposed to mean she was screaming it in her head .... Did he love her was this just one of his fucked up things he got in his head that he thought was the right thing to do ... Was his need to self destruct everything that was good that damn bad ... She rubbed her brow ... "Charles i'm too tired for cryptic ... What does that mean?"

Doc: 'It means you can do ******* better than me, Mortll!"

Mortll: "I have done better than you ... none of them made me happy nor was I content ... I don't want better. I want my match and I’m a ******* mess ... "

Doc: "The last thing I wanted, was to hurt you. But I could not continue to live in denial. Yes I am going to try to work things out with the wife; I am may fail. But if I didn't try I would have always wondered 'what if'. I have to try. And if that means you have to hate me, so you can get past it.. I will accept that."

Mortll: “I don’t want to hate you.”

Mortll: “I just wished you loved me more. “I’ve thought about leaving selling it all and just taking my risk out there ... a thousand other thoughts have crossed my mind as well; “what if”... no I can’t bring myself to play games or try to get you to change your mind.”

Doc: *He wanted to tell her no, but he didn't have that right.* “I am not going to change my mind. I may fail. She may decide too much has happened. Unless she divorces me.. I gotta try.”

Mortll: “Just get some sleep; think about the beach or something you need your rest; you don't get it you start doing rash things ... and your focus ... Jane wont bother you again.” She hit the button on the phone. Jane didn't know what her actions had cost Mortll ... Mortll would make her pay would she kill her no but by the time She was finished with her the woman would be wishing she was dead and probably be much less of a whimpy *** ***** ..; Mortll laid the phone down on the table and closed her eyes... Even if he ended it with his wife, she couldn't fix what was wrong ... He would have to do it ... He would have to actually man up and fight for her and prove that he cared.
