It was as if she could feel the magic trapped within the pages of the Tome, begging for release only achieved by its usage. Keara had given it to her a week or so ago, but Shya had yet to try it out. Although it would have potentially been better to do so sooner rather than later, the brunette couldn't bring herself to enter the family home. For the past 3 or so months, she had served as an outlier of the lineage, and it was habit to pretend she didn't exist. Now, that was all supposed to change. Shya hated changed.
A soft meow from the far side of the room signaled Cirrus' discontent with the lack of attention he was receiving, causing her to turn and face the mere months old kitten. For a feline, you sure are needy..." she said to the animal with a wrinkle of her nose. Despite her protests, she wandered to meet the kitten as he settled down under the crafting bench. She crouched down and scratched behind his ears, listening to the calming sound of his purr.
"Sorry, Cirrus, but I don't think you should come with me, tonight. With seven dogs running around the Asylum, even Keara may not be able to keep you safe. Besides, I have no idea how Enver would react if you got cat hair on his crisp suit," she explained, as if he could actually understand a word she was saying. There was no evidence to suggest that he could, but it hardly bothered her to have a one-sided conversation.
With a quick sigh, she stood and stared down at the Tome, once more. Chewing on her lip, she nodded to herself and began to focus. With no clear idea how the object worked, she ran her hand over the cover and tried to imagine what she wanted to happen. For the object to take her to the Asylum, the family social hub. And with a single blink, she found herself standing in a large room. It was no longer the apartment in West Towers.
Shya's lips parted as she took in her surroundings, and the various faces. No one seemed surprised by her appearance, leading her to believe that this sort of thing happened fairly often. Except, not one of them knew who she was, or where she came from. They just accepted that she was there, without question. Her eyebrows furrowed and she tried to consider the reasons behind such behavior. It was possible that the Tome was the only way into the Asylum, and in that case, Keara and Enver were likely the only two with the ability to grant their lineage with the Tomes.
But, now...she simply felt lost. Enver was nowhere to be seen, and while he would have been her first choice of a tour, Keara would have been a nice second. Except, she wasn't there, either. With the only other member of the lineage that she knew being Peter, she had to assume he was at the shelter. That meant she was completely alone, with people she didn't know.
Maybe it was it better that way...

Family.
A word Lorde didn't use lightly. Three years as a vampire and Lorde had more than she had originally had as a family, she had Enver and then his wife Keara and her family. Her side of the family was huge, but also very accepting of Lorde and how she could be sometimes. The woman could sometimes vanish at random points of time and no one would ask her where she went, she was grateful. Lorde craved alone time sometimes. Who didn't? The funny part was. Three years down the line and the woman didn't have a single friend outside the vedarian family. Not that she minded. Lorde wasn't socially inclined. She didn't get that social fever trait from her sire when he made her, it must've skipped a generation.
Her childer? They had vanished too leaving her alone with her own thoughts in the castle. The vampires here were big and well toned but she killed them like they were nothing, aside from the overlords, and the shifters. They had kicked her *** over and over leaving her to scamper away with nothing left of her pride. It was good training for her thought, she was starting to learn their moves. How their bodies worked so one day she may be able to take them out but that was an adventure for another day. Her hair was strapped tightly into a bun sitting on top of her head, she wore grey jogging bottoms and a black sports bra. Sweat dripped from her forehead and trickled down to her chin where it dropped onto the pale flesh of her chest. The stronger she became the bigger and more muscular she became. Nifty trait of a killer. She was already quite toned.
Her sword was in her hand, dripped blood after a good training session, she breathed a sigh of relief. The anger and the rage was out of her for the night, grabbing her tome from her rucksack that held trinkets from her kills and ammo mostly for her gun. She opened the parchment of paper and read the magical words aloud only to find herself vanishing and then reappearing inside the attic of the asylum. She dropped her rucksack on the ground, as well as her bloodied blade and pulled her hair out of the bun and let the blonde hair fall onto her shoulders. A faint tug of a familiar bond pulled her direction to a woman with brown hair. She blinked a few times. Who was she?
She walked over to the woman. Coughed for her attention. "Hi." Subtle Lorde.

The Attic was a place of social interaction, but knowing no one made it hard for any interaction to occur. And while she was there in hopes of coming into contact with the family she supposedly had, it was beginning to seem like a hopeless endeavour. Shya could feel the slight shake in her hands as she looked around, her eyes wide as she took it all in. It was the beginnings of anxiety, but she knew it wouldn't progress much further. It never did.
Besides, there was always a chance that Enver would appear, and if he did, then he could introduce her to anyone of importance. He would be surprised enough to see her there, no doubt. Once upon a time, she had told him that she would never consider him family, or those around him. Family was something you cherished, and guarded when it was in danger. And frankly, Shya wasn't sure she was capable of such a thing. It had been so long since she had let herself love someone that much, and that sole person was a continually disappointment. She would not open herself up to those crushing emotions, again.
But, then she had to wonder why she was here. if that were the case.
The clear greeting startled Shya as she whipped around, only to find herself face to face with a woman. Taking a step back, she cleared her throat and quickly looked around to ensure that she was the object of the hello. Knowing it probably looked strange, she returned her attention to the woman, "Hello..." Her voice was monotone, and flat. There was no inflection, no signs of interest. Do I...know you?"
The brunette could feel the tug of the bond that she didn't fully understand, though it somewhat resembled the bond she shared with Enver. This woman was family, somehow.

Lorde found herself watching the other woman curiously as she took a moment to look around herself before looking back at the blonde killer with a curious stare that simply said ' are you talking to me? ' Lorde found herself nodding and making her way over to the shop counter and plucked a cloth from the counter top and began to wipe at her face, wiping away all the sweat that resided there. "Yes I'm talking to you." She gave off a laugh. Talking to other people wasnt her forte but she was going to give this one hell of a try! She even flashed the woman a smile. Fangs on show, it couldn't be helped. Her fangs could never be put away. She was stuck with them. Damn curse.
The woman in front of her spoke then. She returned the greeting, that was a good sign. Right? Though her tone of voice seemed monotone, was that boredom she was sensing there? She frowned. She didn't realise she was already so boring just by saying Hi. She shrugged her shoulders in defeat already. Then there was a question erupting from the brunettes mouth. Did she know her?
Lorde didn't know her. But she felt a pull to the woman, an invisible rope tying the two together. "Don't think so. I just felt like I knew you. " there was a shrug of her shoulders. "I'm Lorde." She said finally. Extending her hand to the woman in a formal greeting. If she took the hand and shook it that would be a good sign and a victory for her. She had officially been social and maybe Enver would be proud of her.
She chucked away the cloth then.

The woman's laugh filled the air between them and Shya found that the sound wasn't as annoying to her as laughter usually was. When she lacked the ability to feel the amusement, forcing a laugh was as much as a chore as dishes or laundry. Still, for the moment, she simply felt at ease and so, offered a nod to the woman that was opposite her. It was a confirmation that this woman was indeed speaking to her. It would make introductions easier, and Shya now felt free to speak.
The answer to her question came soon after and Shya nodded, again. She was not the only one feeling the strange pull, then. A bond that the brunette knew nothing of, but could hardly deny. "I feel that same tug. Do you know what it means?" she questioned the woman, hoping that she could offer an explanation. There was a deep seeded desire to understand, and being who she was, she could not ignore it. No matter the possible complexity.
And not even a moment later, the woman introduced herself as Lorde and extended her hand in greeting. Chocolate eyes focused on the hand, her teeth soon pushing into the flesh of her lip. Without reaching, she replied, "Forgive me, but I am not a particularly...tactile individual. However, my name is Shya..." Lifting her gaze to Lorde's face once more, she struggling to create a sincere smile, but it fell a little short. As it always did.
"This is my first time coming here, and I find myself a little overwhelmed," she confessed to the woman, shrugging up a single shoulder. Maybe Lorde could help, maybe not. But there was no harm in trying.

Lorde noticed this woman didn't take her hand and instantly withdrew it and let it rest at her side. She didn't say anything else. Simply stared at the woman silence hung between the two. Then she spoke asking about the tugging feeling, the only thing she could see it being was this was another of Enver's childer. She knew he had sired, but she never actually heard the name - or if she had heard the name she hadn't paid much attention.
"Are you a childe of Enver?" She asked casually, the more she focused on the tug that brought her closer to Shya, the more it reminded her of Darian. The **** he was, and how he was a sibling of hers. Even though he tried to attack her several times. The ********.
She introduced herself as Shya then.
Lorde -did- remember that name from the Vedarian crownet, and let her eyes focus on the woman and smiled. She remembered there was a small amount of arguments about her, she didn't know the specifics though. Lorde kept herself to herself. More focusing on finding someone who could divorce her and Eel, more than anything else.
Then she spoke about this being her first time in the attic and raised an eyebrow. She had never been here before? How odd. "This is the first time you've been here?" She asked curiously. Shaking her head. "Really?" She moved closer to the woman, "how long have you been a vampire for?"
