I hadn't thought about her in months. Maybe close to a year. Not until I was in the sewers one night and some guy fed off me. I wasn't bothered by the guy feeding off me. It was a fact of life. This life. The vampire one. But when he fed off me, I was surprised there were still some Blood Thieves around and were actively 'stealing' blood from vampires. Stealing, being used loosely, because I didn't say he could have it, but it didn't bother me either. Taking, is probably more apt of a word to use.
I had been thinking of working on a project. A new business. A cover for what was really going on. A ruse, you could say. And she would be perfect. As I walked the wooded area in search of some hides, I grabbed out my phone and sent the woman a text. 'Hey, Momma.' I hit send and wait for her to reply. I don't know if she will reply, because it's been a while since we talked. Women sort of got pissed off about that sort of stuff, but she didn't seem the type. To get hung up on the small ******** talks. I don't even know if she's still alive. But there was only one way to find out, I guess.
I pocket the phone, collect the hides I had and stuffed them in a pack, before I head back to the skirts of the city. If she was alive, I would need to get cleaned up, just because it was proper etiquette, then think of a place to meet her and get down to business. I sling the pack over my shoulders, and tome to the Eyrie, head in to my hut, dump the sack on a bench and head to the bathroom to get cleaned up. Even if the woman let me down, I still should get somewhat cleaned up before I get home. Animal guts, blood and dirt wasn't something Skylar was probably looking forwards to seeing, if I had to wrap up my night early.

Mb was wiping down a couple tables as her phone buzzed. Pulling it from her vest pocket she read her texted. Laughing softly to herself she began typing in a reply. “**** Ricky boy. Been forever. ” Placing the cell back she grabbed a couple empty glasses and moved behind the bar.
Glancing up at the clock. “Perfect timing.” It had been a while since she had even talked to him. He had been her number one source for a quick meal, but she had started working here and a lot of things fell at the waste side. After her girls left Rick had been her only friend she knew before coming to this town. Not too mention he had no problem with her past time.
Moving to the front of the bar, she sat on one of the stools, counting the tips she had gotten while waiting for a return text. She had enough saved up by now to get her own place and honestly her boss was great but having his Clubhouse back without her hanging around would probably a bonus. Not the he ever brought it up. It was just time, she found herself in a weird funk of sorts. Wasn’t the whole reason for coming to this town was for something different? This place was just a little too close to her father’s when she was growing up. Granted she loved her old man and she liked everyone here, but maybe a bit of a life outside the bar would do her good. Keep it as her job, but not her life.

My process of cleaning up consisted of me basically wiping off my face and cleaning up my hands. I did change my shirt too, only because of the blood and tear in the thing. I get her text after I've 'cleaned up,' and grin. Just a little. Not too much, but it was good to know she was still alive. Though, somehow I didn't think she wouldn't be. The woman had too much spunk in her to be taken down and if she was taken down, remained down. It just wasn't in our make up. People like her and me.
'Got some free time tonight?' I reply to her text, still grinning. 'I was thinking we could do dinner. If you were hungry.' Yeah, I was more or less telling her if she needed it, I would give her some of my blood. I might be a vampire, but I still had ties to some blood thieves and would rather they get from a willing donor, then end up in the hospital, or worse. Especially if you were someone like Momma. 'Clubhouse, or somewhere a little more...intimate?' I was ******* with her of course. MB knew I didn't do intimate, but I knew she would know that I meant somewhere more personal. Private, even.

MB smiled reading his text. Yeah she could use a bit of a pick me up and Rick as strange as he was, was one of her favorite people. The man might of been a bit off even when she had been his dealer back home, but he was always honest and a generally good guy when it came to her. Pushing her tips in the inner pocket of her cut, she tuned toward the rest of the bar. She could have him come here, there were a few places they could sit that most would not know what was up. Shaking her head she hit reply on her cell.
Sure, lets meet up. Def. not here. Starting to wondering if I will melt if I step outside or something.
She was having a hard time remembering the last time she had gone out. A time not involving some overzealous vamp making a midnight snack out of her. If it wasn't for the fact that she had on occasion did the same to them, she might of been pissed about the it.
Just give me a spot and I will ride over there.

I think about where we could go for a good twenty seconds. 'There's this empty power plant in the coastside district. See you there in twenty.' I type in the exact street name, hit send and look at the time on my phone. I could be there in a matter of seconds, but she couldn't. Not without a little vampire help.
I drop through a fadeportal and wait at the station it spits me out at. If I was going to be giving Momma a snack, then I'll need to get one of my own first. I don't know if I'm just lucky, or attuned to things, but it doesn't take me long to find a vampire roaming the streets. I guess that's just how things are when you're in their world for so long. Anyone's world. You just start to notice things you might not have before. The lack of breathing. The cold skin, and the feeling you get when you're by them. Of death. Or maybe not so much death, but just lacking any tall tell signs of life in them.
I give the vampire a hundred bucks and send him on his way. I'm not taking the guy on a date or something. No need to cozy up and shoot the **** with him. Then, I slip off down a dark alley and teleport to the location I texted to Momma. I don't go in. I just wait against the metal fence that has a metal 'private property' sign on it.
