The Meeting (invite only)

I can honestly say that I was mildly excited to head to Veil towers. Whether it was the possibility of all my questions being answered, or maybe that this MAY BE what I was seeking... change, excitement, something different. I was never a risk taker, never one to walk the line... but tonight, I wanted to step outside the proverbial box..tonight may be different. Or so I had hoped.
I hurried down the street, not fully realizing how fast I was going. Being a vampire had its perks... I was much faster than I had expected. I arrived at Veil towers in less than seven minutes. As the note had requested... I entered the building, walked to the main desk and stated my intention. " Hi, I am here to meet someone named T... I was asked to leave my name and wait here for them". The door attendant was very cordial and asked me to sit and wait..they said this with a rather off-putting smile. This sparked my curiosity even more... what did I get myself into?

Pressing the power button on his bluetooth Trahir opens the door to his haven on the 12th floor and heads toward the elevator. He had been expecting the curious fledgling to show up tomorrow evening but tonight will do. He doubts she will have time to get back to her apartment before dawn with all of her questions answered. He doubts she will have anywhere near the answers she wants by then though he might be able to help a little bit.
He's more interesting in ascertaining the quality of her person than he is at actually playing Q & A with her.
Stepping into the elevator he hits the G button and hums along idly with the classical music selection playing for the descent. Tonight he is wearing a pair of black pants over cowboys boots and a black button up shirt. A simple gold chain around his neck with a stylized golden serpent eating it's tail to form a Mobius strip completes the ensemble. As the elevator gives it's cheery little "ding" he steps out into the lobby and heads toward the appointed seating area.
"Corentine my dear, a pleasure," he says amicably, taking her hands and leaning in to brush a soft kiss against her cheek. "I've been meaning to meet with you for several days now. Come upstairs, you must be chilled to the bone from the long walk over."

“Hello, it is nice to meet you”. What kind of response is that? I mean I do not even know this person, vampire. He is alarmingly large… not large as in obtuse. Large as in his aura has such a presence, one that sort of makes me think before speaking. I am not use to feeling this way, not use to feeling out of place… at this moment, I feel seriously out of place.
I am sizing him up… wondering if I have any chance against him, if we chose to fight or battle…or whatever. I always approach situation like this… always a battle or a war. I am not sure that this is what this is. Not sure what this is, at all. What I am sure of, is this man seems to have the aura of an opportunist. He walks that way, dresses that way...simply carries himself in that manner. Amusingly, I am not one that will allow myself to become part of any opportunity for him.
Cori always approaches new meetings in this way. Basically, it’s what do they want from me...what are they looking to gain. I stand up and meet his gaze with one of my own… the kind of gaze that says “Best not to even try anything with me… you will fail”. I follow his lead and we head up to his abode.

[The following transcript was a live chat roleplay]
Trahir Trahison: The man who invited her is quiet during the ride up in the elevator. He leads the way down the corridor when it stops on the 12th floor and, arriving at one of the apartments unlocks and opens it. As the door from the hallway opens Corentine can see from her vantage point that the apartment is very spartan, nothing with much personality at all. It looks as though a small table and two chairs were dragged in just for this occasion. From the hallway she can see the bedroom to the left with a large king sized bed and two nightstands, a leather bound journal residing on one of them. The living room, straight ahead is where the place setting resides. A single bottle of blood between two glasses with napkins are all that adorn the table. Above them is a self portrait of the vampire who invited her. Whether or not he sketched it is questionable. In the far corner of the room are two lounge chairs, another bottle and another pair of glasses. The corner directly to the right contains a desk with a computer and there is a room beyond it down a short corridor into which Corentine can not see. The vampire she met motions inside. "Please after you Miss Corentine. It's not much, it could certainly use a woman's touch but I just purchased it and haven't yet gotten around to furnishing or renovating."
Corentine: Cori scans the entire apartment. Not much to look at and typical male fixtures. You cannot really expect men to gain a sense of style, merely by becoming a vampire. There are no windows… not that she expected them, being the sun vs vamp thing. Cori makes a quick mental note of the positions of all furniture, the proximity of the door to each etc. Reasons for this being… an escape route, always need an escape route. “It is quite a nice apartment”, Cori says… with a tone that borders on monotone. “Can I ask why you have brought me here?”
Trahir Trahison: Walking over to the table Trahir pulls out one of the high-back chairs and motions for her to sit. "M'lady I would be happy to answer all your questions that I have answers to if you would but join me for a meal. I believe some of the answers you seek I can offer."
Corentine: Without any hesitation, Cori walks over to the table... of course, she chooses to sit in the chair that he has not pulled out. In no way will this mock chivalry work on her... never has and never will. " Let us get down to business." The questions Cori has are retrieved from her memory with great speed. As she sits, she prepares to ask questions in an order. From those of greatest importance to those that could be seen as trivial. She knows that she may not have the opportunity to ask them all...
Trahir Trahison: He arches a brow appraising her but makes no mention of the slight. He is aware of the movement within the genders away from chivalry and toward an egalitarian approach and judging by what little he knows of the lady the femist stigma is alive and well within her. He himself does not sit immediately. Instead he reaches for the bottle and the bar key on the table and pops the cork. The heavy coppery aroma of blood fills the air as he does. "Business waits a moment as we observe the niceties and social conventions.". He pours the thick liquid first into the glass before her and then into his own. "An excellent vintage, relatively recent though. Tell me what you think. Boden '06."
Corentine: “I am sure the drink will taste just fine”. It is still quite difficult to grasp that what she will be drinking is human blood. She is sure it will get easier, with time… hopefully. As he stands above her, yes she noticed that he chose not to sit, but to take a position of authority over her… so predictable they are, she begins to profile him. Cori does this whenever she meets someone new…she has become quite proficient in it. He is dressed like some biker at one of those bars off the highway... that attire coupled with his long hair is amusing to her. It screams of attention seeking and “Hey look at me, I am a badass!” He does have something about him that she cannot quite figure out...it makes her curious…she is intrigued. His eyes, so simple, yet they can tell a person’s entire story. “So, can you tell me why I was turned into one of the undead?” She knows this question is almost impossible to answer, it requires speculation. She wants to see him struggle a bit, maybe it will help to ease them into deeper conversation.
Trahir Trahison: “We are dead things of spirit and meat,” Trahir begins, “and yet we are not so fallen that we cannot make more of ourselves than we are. We are, by inclination, solitary hunters, but we find ourselves tonight in peaceful company. We carry in every drop of our blood a polluting cruelty… but steeped in hunger though we may be, humanity remains. We can be more than parasites and killers. We can be civil and eloquent monsters. Our dead eyes can still appreciate beauty and we can still refine ourselves to become more than we were in life." He sits and lifts his glass toward her in toast. "You were made what you call 'undead' for two reasons. One was because a vampire didn't wish to dehumanize themselves by staining their souls with your murder."
Corentine: "Uh, can you try and speak not like someone from Shakespeare?" she smirks whilst saying it. I mean come on, who the hell speaks like this?
Trahir Trahison: Again the eyebrow raises and a completely cold gaze settles upon Cori. It's like looking into the eyes of a shark. He brings the glass to his lips and takes a long sip from it, the liquid sloshing only briefly as he sets it down between them. "tell me what you think of the vintage Corentine." There is a finality to the imperative. Also there is a weight in his words she can tangibly feel. It's not as though she is being compelled by otherworldly means, it means... resonates within her. The feeling reminiscent of when Jon spoke to her immediately after her embrace.
Corentine: She takes the glass to her lips and allows a small amount to slip onto her tongue. A small drop escapes from the corner of her mouth, which she quickly remedies by using her tongue to retrieve it. The thought of drinking blood still disgusts her… but this, this tastes unworldly. She feels him, not in the physical sense, but she feels him within her soul. That look, more like a gaze into her… it means something. Cori just isn’t sure to as what…not even sure, if at this moment, she wants to know. The combination of the exquisite taste of the drink and his stare, is a tad too much for her to handle, at that moment. Cori does something that she has never done…never! She lowers her eyes from his, lowers her head a slight bit, as well.
Trahir Trahison: Trahir doesn't press any advantage. He simply speaks to her. "The blood is a mixture of a gentleman named Wayne Borden's and my own mortal blood." He himself looks down as well, waiting for the tell-tale motion from his periphery that she is attempting to reclaim his gaze. "You and I are very much alike Miss Corentine. One could say we are blood related though in no convention humans could fathom. I prefer the term co-sanginous personally."
Corentine: “What do you mean, related?” She wonders if all vampires are, in an odd sort of way. Thinking that may suck if you are looking for any sort of vampire love connection…but who is looking for that nowadays. A question, spurred by his most recent words...slips from her mouth. “Are WE related in any way?” She knows that they cannot be, as far as their mortal blood is concerned...but there is certainly some kind of connection…she just is not sure to as what. It certainly must be a strong connection, as her lowering of her eyes...as if submitting would require her to have some sort of respect for the stranger seated in front of her.
Trahir Trahison: Keeping his gaze averted for her benefit he lifts his glass once more, the blood in the mouthful consumed feels and tastes enraged, he can feel the madness, the cold calculation, the ferocity and hatred bubbling up within it, hatred turned to lust, Lust turned to the worst dominance... evil. He chose this blood specifically. A snare, a lure, a chain, he thinks, all in a single drop of sanguine liquid... Blood. Yes, blood. "We are of the same line," he states simply. "Quartermaine is the name of our lineage."
Corentine: Cori took another sip from the glass, this time, it was more of a gulp than a sip. She then closed her eyes, Boden… you have got to be kidding me? Boden the serial killer, the one who surely would be a prime test subject for Freud? So, this is a serial killers blood...the kind of serial killer that only came up once every few decades. He was warped, deranged...he was a woman killer. Not just a killer, but a defiler. This, the thought of consuming one who was, in her mind...evil incarnate, was actually refreshing. Not refreshing in an ice tea on a hot day sort of way, refreshing as in vindication. As she swallowed this thick, coppery tasting fluid... Cori smiled. “Quite a selection you have chosen for me this evening, care to tell me why?”
Trahir Trahison: Trahir sat watching her. There were several reasons why the vintage was selected. It was far from happenstance. Nor was the second bottle on the other side of the room for that matter. The primary reason will do though. She isn't likely wanting a novel. "Because opposites attract". He finds that answer fitting. Her sire, his childe is the opposite of Trahir and she in turn is opposite of Revelation/Jon."I thought it might be pleasing to the palate."

[The following transcript was a live chat roleplay]
Corentine: “It is quite heavenly, I am glad you chose
it,” she said with a slight smile… realizing she used heavenly as a
descriptor made Cori her smile even wider. This man, well
vampire...seemingly has planned this entire evening. Why is it that I feel
as though I am being sized up… for what purpose? “Trahir, can you tell me
about the need for blood? If we, as vampires, don’t consume it…what would
happen?”
Trahir Trahison: "We would weaken and pass into the
shadow realm upon suffering injury." He swallows the rest of the contents
of his wine glass and refreshes both glasses.. "Within the shadow realm we
exist in pure spirit form. Once there you can not easily break free and
rejoin with your flesh. You would slowly go insane and perhaps eventually
dissipate into nothingness." A small smile plays at one corner of his
mouth. "I'm glad you like the vitae, it wasn't easily acquired."
Corentine: “Is there a way for us to acquire blood,
without killing humans?” Cori has been wondering this…as being a cold
blooded killer is not quite what she had planned for her life. Of course,
there are many she could kill… without hesitation. Running through some of
the prisons would be a grand thing...enjoyable at that. “When were you
turned into a vampire?” she blurted out. “Have you ever turned anyone,
yourself?” Questions flew like rapid fire bullets from Cori’s mouth.
Trahir Trahison: Trahir steeples his fingers in front of
his chin as she asks her questions in a flurry. That small smile broadens
to curl up both sides of the mouth creating dimples on his pale cheeks.
"You can drink from animals though the result would be less than
satisfying, you can acquire blood bags at the shops you find around the
area as long as you are not too disfigured by injury. Or you could drink
from other vampires although that is a change that you likely do not wish
to undergo. It renders all other blood as air to a man dying of thirst.
Naught but Wampyr blood could sustain you once you commit to that path". He
circles his index finger around the lip of his glass lazily. "Like you I am
young in the blood. Unlike you and like your sire I know not the
circumstances of my own embrace". His eyes are on the rim of his glass as
he speaks, his voice mellow and even-toned.
Corentine: Cori senses that she asked a question that
may have made him a tad uncomfortable. As uncomfortable as a vampire can
get. She watches his movements, little nuances...a change in his facial
expression, his hands become more active. What question bothered him?
“That is very informative, thank you…so have you turned any humans,
yourself?” She knew that by avoiding this question, that it was which made
his whole demeanor change...but why?
Trahir Trahison: Trahir looks up directly into her eyes.
His head doesn't move, he meets her gaze with a look usually reserved for
boxers in the ring. His eyes are shaded by his brow, blue turning almost
black in the dimly lit room. "Yes. I have. The vampire I sired embraced his
own childe within hours of my siring him. She saw me through the window as
she was struggling through the death throes of her last breath". The finger
continues it's orbit around the inside of the glass as he speaks.
Corentine: Cori sits back in her chair...she finishes
off the full glass Trahir just poured for her. Sort of like old college
days, when you guzzle beers during that dumb drinking game. It is then,
like a flash of lightening...it hits her. Not just a little shock, but
enough to make her entire body jump. Cori gets up from the chair and heads
towards the door… “It was you, you were there!! You watched that animal
do this to me!!” She had enough of this man, vampire...she
knew, knew full well that this vampire had turned Jon… who then
turned her. He was like a grandfather… “This conversation is over and no
others will happen from here on out!!” She did not realize that she was in
essence, screaming this... screaming this as she headed towards her only
escape route... the door.
Trahir Trahison: He doesn't make a move to stop her, he
could. He could be at the door in an instant but that wouldn't be wise.
"You wanted answers. I offer them. There is more you need to know Miss
Corentine and precious few with as much reason to teach you as I. Please
return to your seat and prove to me that you are the strong person I
believe you to be and not some overly-emotional wench bent of
self-destruction over ill-humor."
Corentine: She wanted to walk right out the door…walk
out and never return. At this moment her disdain for him grew…grew at each
passing second. He allowed this, he watched it all go down. He watched
me die!! I realize that vampires are not human… but they once were and
I am hoping that some reserve some sense of humanity within them. The
images that had seared her brain over the past few days, all came at once.
That Doors song, Jim Morrison...he fits that image. It was then, that Cori
stopped...not sure if it was the tone in his voice or her craving for
curiosity that stopped her in her tracks. At that moment in time...she
stood there, frozen...and pondering.
Trahir Trahison: His back is to her. He doesn't watch
her, merely continues to stare at his finger tracing the rim of the glass.
Apart from that movement the entire room could be vacant. There is no
stirring of air, not even from the intake and exhalation of air from the
two of them. Breathing is only useful to the vampire for speaking, only
necessitated by the passing of air over vocal chords to make the correct
sounds for communication. He says no more, merely waits. If she walks out
now it means little. The seed has been planted and he knows her sire is too
dim to teach her anything but how to fit in with the idiots drinking 40
ounce bottles of malt liquor at the local 7-11. She will come around now or
later. It matters not which to him.
Corentine: Part of her wants to keep walking… as she
knows that by turning around and sitting, will give him a win of sorts, he
will get some sort of warped satisfaction from it. BUT… by walking out
now, her questions will not all be answered...she is sure, over time, they
would be. Unfortunately, she is an immediate gratification type of woman…
she wants what she wants, now... never later. Patience was never one of
her finest virtues. “Alright, Trahir... you win this one.” He won this
one... what the hell did that even mean?? Cori turns and returns to the
table...but does not sit, she stands... looking down upon him.
Trahir Trahison: Remaining seated he allows Cornetine
her own win. He looks up to her, giving away the advantage of body
position, perceived dominance if an outsider were trying to judge the
situation. He lets his finger desist in it's circular motion, crooking it
instead to draw the glass closer to him and then delicately brings it to
his lips and drains it as she did hers. "Please, continue your inquiry
miss. There is a bed in the other room. I don't believe you will have
sufficient time to make your way back to your apartment before dawn..." He
sets the glass down almost delicately. "You'll be safe here during the day,
you have my word."
Corentine: With every move she makes, he seemingly
counters it…he knows what she is thinking, feeling... can he really know
her? That is not even possible... he is merely a man. Men are simple
beings with simple needs...predictable as the rising sun. Did he just
invite me to stay here… with him? Cori, with a slight bit of dissension,
sits back in the chair… her eyes meet his. She vows, at that moment, that
they will never lower from his or anyone’s gaze, again. “Tell me about
you, Trahir... who is this man that sits in front of me?”
Trahir Trahison: He meets her gaze evenly. There is no
competition offered, no prize to be won. He isn't trying to overpower her
nor does he show any discomfit at her level stare. "I, like you, am dead. A
shell of what was. Hollow and empty with but the echo of humanity
resonating and resounding through decrepit flesh and shattered soul. You
ask about me but what you mean to ask is what circumstances formed me in
mortality and set me on the path leading to this condition. That answer
will not glean you insight into what you have become. It will not help you
to survive the requiem, the dirge your existence has metamorphosed into. It
will only give you the glimpse of a man's pain. Pain that has lost it's
chance to be reconciled. You should ask something more pertinant to your
own survival and success."
Corentine: “Why don’t you let me decide what I find
pertinent or not”, she says with a louder than normal tone. He doesn’t
seem to realize that in understanding him she will, maybe, understand
herself. To know where one came from, relatively speaking, will give
insight into who one is. She wants to know more about this new life…but in
a way, she wants to learn about him. He seems so aloof, so distant...but
as she knows, the eyes don’t lie...and his eyes have a hundred stories to
tell. How can she let him know that she wants to know it all...she has an
unquenchable thirst, not just for blood…but for knowledge. With every
passing moment that they are within one another’s company, she wants to
know about him...she wants an in...and this may be a way she can get it.
“Why did you call me here?” “Was it merely to inform me of the
intricacies of being a vampire?”

Trahir Trahison Rising he walks over to the table at the
far side of the room and retrieves the bottle from it. He makes his way
back over to where they have been sitting, popping the cork on this new
vintage as he approaches. "All the answers that you seek can be found in
the aftermath of my own embrace. The time of mortality is as much a
foundation as the formative years of humanity to be sure but within my
personal history there lies no answers to satisfy your thirst for
knowledge." Pouring the first of the bottle into her glass and the next
draw of the exquisite blood into his own he remarks "This is a hybrid. Much
like a Cabernet-Merlot or a Shiraz-Cabernet mix. Please let me know what
you think" He seats himself, and places his hand on the stem of his own
glass showing his willingness to partake first if she remains untrusting.
Corentine Cori is curious to as why he goes to retrieve
another bottle. The one that was recently uncorked is still half full.
She was quite enjoying the taste… knowing that she was consuming the blood
of a defiler of women resonated in a way with her. Maybe it was the
feeling of vindication for all his victims, that she enjoyed… still, why a
new bottle? Something tells her that Trahir enjoys playing with her...as
if she is a pawn on a chess board and he is the hand that moves her.
“Honestly, Trahir…I want to hear your history, it seems vital to my own”.
Cori is not sure to as why...but something deep within her compels her to
stay with this line of questioning. Cori pushes her glass towards him,
“Only a half a glass, please”.
Trahir Trahison Reaching over he pushes the cork down
into the first bottle with a single finger. To the naked eye is would
appear uncorked. His eyes meets hers as his hand withdraws and settles on
the table in front of him, palm down on a napkin. "Some of us can channel
the blood to great effects Miss Corentine. All of these effects are a
matter of spirit and flesh. All of them affect only us and sometimes
through them we can affect others." He sips the new glass, the blood of two
lovers murdered with a single bullet, perhaps a single thrust of a blade...
he knows not their story only that their stars crossed with that of the
reaper and now what is left of them exists only to slake the thirst of the
dead. "Memories are entirely mutable. Should we choose to, with some
effort, we can... lose them." It's not an answer, but it should be enough
to give her something to ponder, perhaps alter her line of questioning.
Corentine She watches every subtle move he makes… some
of them seem purposeful, as if they are being made for her. Maybe to
distract her, maybe it is merely a show... that is yet to be seen. Before
she asks another question, Cori reaches for the glass and brings it to her
mouth, tipping it ever so slightly so that the thick fluid slowly flows to
the rim, meeting her lips. She doesn’t drink, yet… just meets his eyes
with a gaze of her own. It is then, that she opens her lips, just a bit
and allows the thick fluid to enter her mouth. As she drinks, her eyes
close… she feels this “vintage” more than the other… it is a different
feeling, one that touches something deep within her.

[-The following is a live chat transcript-]
Trahir Trahison He watches her as she slowly drinks. He selected these bottles for their polarity. One, the total detachment from humanity, the hatred, the forced dominance of another sentient being, the overpowering and destruction of that being, the evil within the blood. He believe she would enjoy it since from what he saw of he it was more and less of her own qualities than she could know. The second bottle though... co-dependency... love. The entwining of two souls, two people becoming one, an emotional and physical connection unfathomable to those baser creatures lacking reason. Not senseless rutting brought on by the instinct to reproduce, but the co-joining of two souls hoping to find those parts of themselves missing within the core of the other. Yes, he thinks. The resultant reaction of her imbibing the vital fluid, the essence of not one, but both sides of a union of such spiritual power should be informative. This should tell him what he wants to know of her.
Corentine As she drinks, she hears his words...”memories are mutable”. Does he even realize that memories make us who we are? They are tiny learning moments that help us grow and develop… they mold our personas and how we interact with others. Why the hell would anyone want to mute them? Well, unless those memories are unpleasant, even scary for someone…then maybe, you would want them gone...forgotten. She savors the drink...wishing she had asked for a full glass, as she wants more...so much more. She focuses and feels…passion, desire, love and loss…all of it at once. It’s as if she feels them, the ones whose blood she is drinking, it surely has to be the blood of more than one person. Is it possible that two individuals can have these feelings, this bond? How can I feel them, in this way…The intensity of the thoughts that are circling around in her head cause both pain and great pleasure…she is aware that both are showing upon her face. She brings the glass to the table with great force, surprised that it does not break… “That was interesting,” she said in a low tone.
Trahir Trahison "You asked about my history. You just tasted the most important part of it. That was lost to me less than a week prior to my embrace. An accident. What matters of my history, my past you know as well as anyone now."He doesn't avert his eyes. He chooses to keep them locked on her own as he poses his own question, rhetorical for the moment as he feels a weight settling into his very essence, his bones beginning to feel heavy. Dawn is imminent. They are of course safe within the confines of the apartment, but the effects of the sun upon the driving force within is telling. "Do you think now that my experiences shall help determine your path?" He knows that she will weaken with daybreak faster than he, possibly not by much though...

[The following is a live chat transcript]
Trahir Trahison The second evening in a row the he's had a visitor, Trahir feels positively social. "Miss Corentine Ann, people are going to say we're in love". He had told her she was welcome any time and it seems she has taken it to heart. This pleases him. "Did you not get enough answers last visit, have you decided to make this your haven, or are you just here for the company?" He is seated at the table with a newspaper in front of him, the headlines something about the serial killings in the city as usual.
Corentine She took a step into the apartment and again, scanned every corner. She thought for a moment about saying something sarcastic...but thought twice. “Good Evening Trahir, you are looking rested tonight.” She does not know why she has returned…maybe to get more questions answered.
Trahir Trahison "As are you. You were sleeping like the dead when I left earlier." There is an amused glimmer to his eyes as he sets the newspaper down in the table and rises, pulling out the seat for her. "Please," he says motioning to the seat.
Corentine Cori seemed more receptive to his invite this time…she walked over to the table and sat down. She tucked her hair behind her ears and placed both elbows upon the table, resting her chin on her hands. “So, are you ready for more questions?”
Trahir Trahison Coming around to the opposite side of the table and sitting down he makes a motion with his hand as if imploring her to continue. The only light in the apartment is from the computer screen in the far corner and a single candle on the edge of the table.
Corentine The questions had filled her head, all day. She found herself, once again, neatly organizing them in to order. Preparation was key when dealing with a character such as Trahir. Cori followed him with her eyes, not moving her head at all. “ So, tell me…why did you sit upon the fire escape and watch my turning?” “ What interest was it of yours?”
Trahir Trahison He clasps his hands in front of him and rests them on the table leaning forward and keeping his gaze on hers. "You were sired by a vampire I sired. I had to make sure he didn't leave a mess that could impact the masquerade."
Corentine As he spoke, she recalled how angry Revelation was when she did not come back to her own apartment that first night. She honestly did not care, as HE was the one who did this to her…HE is the one she is chained to for all the rest of her immortal life. Not the kind of specimen that she would have chosen, not at all. “So you allowed him to do this?’ Cori isn’t at all sure if Trahir knows what type of human Revelation was and what kind of vampire she believes he will become.
Trahir Trahison "I had thought about stopping him, but by that time the fangs were out and you had seen too much. Bythhat time it was either clean up a mess or embrace you myself. We have the ability to feed and cause a loss of memory in our victims... most of us. Sometimes that is not the case. It was his first feeding so I had to make sure."
Corentine It was as he spoke that she felt her non-existent blood start to boil. The words he spoke were not comforting or what she wanted to hear. “You mean you could have done it yourself, but didn’t?” Cori wanted to scream at that moment. So this one allowed her to be turned by, well… an idiot. “ Am I chained to him for eternity?”
Trahir Trahison Trahir nods. "In essences yes, it could have been me. The Embrace takes a bit out of us to do... without mystical means we are limited in how much we can splinter the spiritual essence within in order to propagate as we do." He tilts his head to one side, dark hair falling over one eye for a moment before he pushes it back, letting the candlelight illuminate his face again. "You would wish me to sire you?"
Corentine She hesitates…knowing her answer but not wanting to share it with him. It would give him some sort of edge over her...a proverbial upper hand. “Well Trahir, I do suppose that after learning about Revelation and then getting a glimpse into who you are, I would have chosen you.” Her tone was confident and sure...her gaze never left his. “Of course, this is because I sense that you have more knowledge to share with me than he does...no other reason.”
Trahir Trahison "Quite so, Miss Corentine." He doesn't dispute her or seem perturbed by her claim in the least. "I was a student of the occult prior to my Embrace. I had run into vampires before I ever was one." His brow furrows slightly, possibly the first sign of humanity she has witnessed, though it is gone in an instant and could have been the shadow cast by the dancing flame.
Cori gets up from her chair and makes her way over to Trahir... pulling the chair she once occupied behind her. Positioning said chair so that when she sat, she was within a half a foot of him. Cori sat down, crossed her legs and placed her hands upon the table within inches of his. “I am not understanding what we have in common, I just do not see it?” She really saw no similarities between her and this “man" in front of her. He dressed like a biker and had long dark hair...not at all the type with whom she would associate. But, truth be told...he had something, there was something about him that drew her, dare I say attracted her to him. “So, where do we go from here?”

[The following is a live chat transcript]
Trahir Trahison He's momentarily grateful that she was
not sired to the Allurist path, that may have been too much for him.He
appraises her a long moment before speaking. "It leaves you with a more
secure haven than you have now, with Mr. Masterson. It allows you a more
knowledgeable teacher should you continue to take advantage of that and
beyond that, time will tell." He hated that expression truth be told, but
found it apt at the moment. "You are free to stay here as often as you
choose. Either with me or in the room to your right".
Corentine "I am grateful for your kindness and
hospitality", she said with a softer than usual tone." So are you freeing
yourself up to be my teacher?"
Trahir Trahison Freeing himself up might be a gross
exaggeration. More like he was willing to share his time. He wasn't used to
being alone and this woman, this beautiful
blissfully-unaware-of-her-new-nature vampire, was perfect company. "In
essence, yes," he says. "So long as you heed my instructions when we hunt
and do nothing that endangers the masquerade".
Corentine "Masquerade?" He will need to explain this,
in detail..she is not quite sure what he means. " Can you elaborate a bit
more on that, please?" She positions her body so that she is closer to him
than before.
Trahir Trahison "The Masquerade," he states, "is what
keeps the humans from destroying us while we lie torpid during the daylight
hours. Older vampires can rise and walk even during the daytime, that will
come to you in time. Younger vampires tend to be more careless. Drunk with
the heady power coursing through newly dead veins they take to the racks,
the clubs, heedless of the need for secrecy and caution. They find for
themselves a quick and brutal end more often than not".
Corentine “I have never been one to make a spectacle of
myself, so feel confident that I can uphold the masquerade.” She was
comfortable in the fact that she could go along with just about
anything...as long as it proved beneficial. It did not have to benefit her
alone...never had to benefit solely her, not as a human and certainly not
as a vampire. “Why are you alone?” Cori felt that in order to get some of
her questions answered she had to be blunt...this was blunt.
Trahir Trahison Trahir lets out a small chuckle. "I'm
not alone. You're right here."
Corentine " That is not what I meant", she couldn't
help but smile.
Trahir Trahison He knew what she had meant. He sits back
a bit in his chair and lets out a long sigh. "I don't know my sire, much
like your own sire, I was never truly introduced." The details of his
embrace are hazy, not in the same way as his mortal years, those are forced
aside, his embrace he simply doesn't recall clearly. "Since then I haven't
found company I should enjoy and thus, you are here. Company I enjoy".
Corentine She smiles, once again…did he show a bit of
humanity, for just a moment. He actually, maybe, has feelings deep inside
that dark shell…or maybe not, it could be part of the game, time will tell.
“Do you have anything left to drink, Trahir?” She is curious if there is
anything like “rum” for vampires...she would love to have something like
that, now. “Is there anything similar to alcohol for vampires...I could use
a drink.”
Trahir Trahison "I was never a drinker when I was mortal
death has not changed that. It was never about a moral high ground, I
simply never acquired a taste for the stuff. All I have is the remainders
of the other nights bottles. Personally I prefer to hunt." He reaches out
and traces one finger over her outstretched hand out of the blue "Live
prey... warm rush of blood... much more... satisfying." That last bit said
as his head lowers slightly, casting his face into darkness but for the
gleam in his eyes reflecting the candlelight.
Corentine She wanted to pull away, as soon as she felt
him touch her...but didn’t. “I have not done that yet...hunted.” She
caught a few stray cats and worked a guard at a blood bank over...used her
feminine ways to get a few bags to last her a few nights. Hunting…it
seemed interesting enough. She knew that she needed to be exposed to this,
she needed to make her first kill. Why not with him...he made her feel
secure. Cori turned her hand...the one that he as touching...over, and
grasped his fingers within her palm. “I do think that I would like to,
hunt.”
