Visions of the Past (Doc, Mortll)

by Kendall (DELETED 3432)
Kendall blinked as she realized what she was doing. The slight woman scrambled up from the floor and dropped Mason’s shirt as if it were on fire.

“Damn, this can’t be happening. Get a grip!”

The words spoken to the empty air seemed only to make her more nervous. She looked lovingly at Mason’s side of the bed as tears began silently to slip down her cheeks again. Mason had been gone for weeks without a word and she was worried. She had tried every way to contact him and nothing. Not even Mortll could get a response. She felt that she would feel it if he were dead. The bond they shared was unbreakable, even without the benefit of the legal tie neither could walk away from the other but maybe this time there was not going to be a choice.

Kendall was shaking with emotion as she sat down on her computer, the picture of her and her sister the background. Her eyes scanned down to the date as her hand raised to caress the beloved face of her sister Riley. She had been almost a year but the pain would never leave. She had failed her miserably.

The twins had been through so much in their short lifetimes. They had survived the mental institution, the mental abuse, the violent rapes, the electro-shock therapy, the physical abuse…all of it had ended the night Mortll turned them immortal. If only the memories and the damage of what had been done to them would have. She knew Riley had been struggling and being with Mason had made her felt betrayed after what the men had done to them in the hospital. She should have spent more time with her sister and maybe she would be here.

Grabbing her gun and her sword, Kendall made a swift decision and headed out into the night. She did not have the nerve to kill herself for that was what she wanted this night. Without Riley and Mason, she had no reason to live. Each day had become a chore to her giving her no reason to continue to come back. Surely, someone would fight her back and give her the wish she so desperately wanted.

Seeing the first victim standing alone on the street she raised her gun and took aim. She them fall a feral smile crossed her features. Walking up to, the man who now lay bleeding on the sidewalk she chuckled, the sound making her seem demented. The man held a hand up begging for help. She kicked him in the ribs making spit blood out onto the ground.

“I did you a favor.”

The man began to cry and something snapped in Kendall. Take her sword she began to stab him over and over trying to get him to shut up. By time she was finished her muscles were on fire from the exertion. A maniacal laugh escaped her lips as she realized she almost had decapitated the man.

“Oops, my bad.”

Shaking her head, the woman continued onward heading for the park, her gun hanging from her hand. Spotting a couple in the throes of passion, she walked up and watched waiting for them to notice her. She rolled her eyes as the woman found her climax, as the man yelled for anyone to hear that his was there, she shot him and then shot the woman in the head as she began to scream. Shaking her head, she looked down at them, hearing the gurgle in their throat as the end was near.

“Why? Because I can’t find my ******* husband. I think he’s dead.”

Nodding as if she were merely bidding them a good evening, she kept walking. Shots could be heard moving their way through the park. Panicked citizens screamed as they feared they would be next. It all confused Kendall wondering what was happening, why were people fleeing the park. It was such a beautiful night why were they leaving.

As she contemplated this disturbing thought she was knocked to the ground and felt arms around her as her gun was ripped from her hand.

“By all that’s holy, give me my ******* gun back.”

Her eyes glazed as she looked up at the officer trying to comprehend why he had her gun and she did not.

“Will you get off me? I’m a married a woman and my husband will have my hide if he knew you were on top of me.”

The struggles began in earnest as Kendall tried to dislodge herself from the two officers holding her down. Her mind was so far gone she thought they were the doctors from the asylum where she and Riley had been held.

“I’m not taking that anymore. Please….leave us be. We haven’t done anything….Riley…run, please run!”

She was screaming, the officers looking around only to find nothing but realizing now what they had on their hands. They started going through her pockets only to find a cell phone. They dialed down to where a listing for Mom was contained and dialed. Kendall began to cry, wracking sobs, as she mumbled, “Please…don’t hurt us anymore, please.”

Vaguely she registered that the officer was speaking, “Yes, we’re at the park, she will be booked for third degree murder, but ma’am, she’s not in her right mind so we’ll be taking her to the hospital first. Yes, that is actually, where we had planned to take her. They have holding cells there.”

The ambulance pulled up as Kendall began to fight like a demon. Her mind locked into the first time she had been sent away with her sister, knowing what happened in places like that. A paramedic quickly slid a shot into her arm as she thrashed, taking four grown men to keep her down. A few minutes later the familiar pull of the medicine became apparent as she grew quiet, the tears sliding silently down her face as she looked at them helpless.

Doc got the call that there was a involuntary psychiatric hold coming in hot. He met them at the steps as the police and the ambulance pulled up.

The paramedic hopped out of the back “She’s quiet now Doc.” The paramedic knew Dr. Nilson from the hospital. “But your don’t have to be a psychiatrist to tell she is not in her right mind.”

Doc watched as the patient was taken out of the back of the ambulance. He looked at her, he didn’t know her. But he could tell she was a vampire the minute he saw her. “Vitals?”

The paramedic looked sheepish. “Look Doc.. we had to hit her with Thorazine to get her calm enough to take down. She was freaking about about being touched. I figured you.. could.. you know..take her vitals…” his voice trailed off apologetically.

“Not a problem. How much Thorazine?” Normally Doc would have ripped him a new one, but this time the guy’s lazy attitude just saved the Masquerade.

The answer came swiftly and professionally. The paramedic’s respect for the Doctor just just went up a few steps. “30 cc’s.”

Doc looked at him, “30 cc’s? Then we need to get her into a cell Now.” He moved aside and waved them through.

The paramedic didn’t understand the urgency. “Doc.. she will be out of it for a while. We have time.”

“No Sam..” He called the paramedic by his name. “..we do not. Look at her. 30 cc’s should have put her out. But she is awake, and look at her eyes. Wide open and focused. She is watching everything going on, hearing and ..” he gestured, “understanding every word we are saying.”

“Cell five..” Doc called out the nurses station.

A few minutes later, Jane in Security (Her name was really Wolffyn, but Doc couldn’t be fucked to remember it.) threw the switch and the metal door was unlocked. They headed to through the first metal door, as Doc swiped the keypad with his key, to open the second set of glass doors, allowing the paramedics to go through and un-restrain their patient. He snapped his fingers and tapped his watch, in a signal to get her in and out fast.

“I don’t get it Doc.. how is it wearing off so fast?”

Yes the Thorazine was going to wear off fast. Because the patient was a vampire. Vampires metabolize medicines and chemicals ten, sometimes twenty times faster than humans. But Doc couldn’t tell him that. His thoughts were going into overdrive, what he said now would be brought up in the court case. A court case that could never happen with a vampire. He had to give himself some openings in case things went sideways.

“You saw her before the Thorazine, I did not. But apparently she was in a crazed state where she could hurt someone…”

Sam the paramedic cut him off, “Hurt someone?! Doc she killed three couples, that I know of.. who knows how many other dead are there. She executed them. Shot them all in the head. Talking to someone who wasn’t there.. ” He shook his head. “This is a bad one.”

Doc’s hopes fell. He had hoped to say the patient suffered a cardiac arrest and sweep the whole matter under the rug. But six dead, in a mass shooting. There will be no sweeping this under the rug. “Sounds like she was hopped up on illicit drugs. No wonder the Thorazine is wearing off fast. Drugs can counteract one another. And.. if she is a habitual user, she could have fucked her system up so bad, that it has built up a tolerance to the drugs. I am guessing that is what is happening here.”

The paramedic nodded, “You know I think you’re right.” He sighed, “You know by the time we left, it was mass hysteria out there. Parents converging on the park because their kids weren’t home yet. Boyfriends looking for girlfriends. This one is going to be watched close. I don’t envy you.”

Doc didn’t envy himself either. He has a masquerade breach about to happen and cops and the press would be all over the place soon. As soon as the paramedics left. He called Security Jane. “I have a job for you.”

Her phone rang she glared at it ... It was about the 20th time it hand rang this evening. She was about to let it go to voice mail when the thought that It might actually be Doc struck her mind she glared at the number ... it was listed under Harper Rock PD. How the hell did the Harper Rock PD get her private number she punched the button and said " Hello ?" apprehensively.

Hello Is this a Kendall's Mother? The voice on the other end asked. Mortll glared at the phone for a moment " Who may I ask is Calling " Mam this is Officer Callahan with the Harper Rock Police Department Do you know a Kendall Mam this number is listed under her Phone as Mom ?" Mortll paused a moment her mind racing this couldn't be good no good at all . "Im not exactly her Mother I was her legal guardian What is wrong officer Callahan?" The officers voice paused a moment " Mam she has been taken into custody and is begin taken to the Hospital for a Mental Evaluation. Can we ask you a few questions ? Mortlls voice grew stone cold "Which hospital ?" She knew this routine all too well she wasn't giving them any information they did not ask and this officer hadn't even asked her name yet "Mam can we get you to come in and ask for some information ?" Mortll hung the phone up. She would handle legal ramifications later right now the masquerade counted and one of them in the hospital wasn't a good idea at all.

She didn't waste any time She hit the speed dial for Docs number ...

Doc: “Yours? This one is yours!?” Doc pulled the phone away from his ear and let loose with a string violent and explosive expletives. After what might have seemed like an eternity, he finally place the phone back to his ear and said in a decisive flat tone. “Murder. That’s what she’s done. Multiple murder. She decided she was going to re-enact the serial killer Zodiac from the 1960’s. Body count stands at six. But that could rise.” He went silent as he counted in order to keep his calm. Why would she sire such a ******* nut job?! She had to know this was not going to end well! Pause over, he said coldly and analytically. “You need to find a junkie that looks like her. Not tomorrow. Now. We have no time to waste. Forensics will be here to take her prints soon. I can put them off for a few hours. But that is it. Find a junkie. I will expect you two hours.” He disconnected the call, and called Jane in Security. “Change of plans. We are going into lock down. Now. No one in.. no one out.”

Mortll: She could tell he wasn't happy but she had no time to worry about whether he was happy mad or giddy all she needed was a bit of his help and that she was getting. She loaded her gun and tucked it away she rummaged around in her drawer for the case she didn't take the case with her often It was rare that she actually took anyone alive or at least set out to take them alive. She tucked it in the inside pocket of her jacket and headed out. One good thing about being a vampire is that you noticed a lot more than a human does. She already knew the perfect place to look there was a girl that looked like Kendall and her Riley She didn't have that same spark that same smile but her build was similar and she was homeless she even had the same hair color, Mortll had noticed her when hunting she had actually fed from the girl on occasion. It didn't take her long to track her down ... the syringe went into the woman's neck and the trunk of Mortll’s car slammed down. She looked around the alley was still vacant and no one was looking out of their windows. Fishing her phone out of her pocket Mortll phoned Doc and waited for his answer .

Doc: It was about ninety minutes later when his phone rang again. recognizing Mortll’s number he answered. “Give me good news.” His words were still clipped and abrupt, but they weren’t as cold as previously when they spoke. He glanced at his watch. Under two hours. That gave them another hour before forensics was due to descend upon them; if .. if she had good news.

Mortll: She didn't wait for any pleasantries she simply said "I've got her where do you need her?"

Doc: “We are in lock down. Front gate is locked. No cars in or out. You will need to scale the wall in the back. There is an alley with a security light, so you will have to wait until it goes out. I will throw the breaker on it. I will give you ten minutes to get yourself and your package over the wall before the light gets switched back on. Text me when you are in place. I will throw the switch.”

Mortll: "I wont need 10." She had been driving toward the hospital and she pulled the car over listening to him she was glad she had all of the killer powers she had. "I can pretty much Jump from here. Let me know when.” She checked the area it was pretty deserted she guessed all the excitement was focused on what Kendall had done and many were probably hunkered down in their homes with the doors locked. She opened the trunk and pulled the dead weight of the drugged woman out being careful not to damage her. She had her in a fireman's carry over her shoulders and Waited for the word to go.

Doc: Doc sighed, he disconnected. He clearly said, she was supposed to text him when she was in place. Frustration level went up a notch. He headed to the breakers, she wouldn’t have to know when, if she saw the lights go out. He flipped the switch. The lights went dark. He set his watch. In precisely ten minutes he was turning the lights back on.

Mortll: Mortll looked around the building the hospital was still a block away she noticed the alley light go out she picked her spot and took a running leap. The weight of the girl wasn't much but it was the first time she had super jumped with a weight other than her own she stumbled a bit as she landed but caught herself she looked around She pulled out her phone and texted him. It wasn't easy texting one handed and balancing a woman over your shoulders but she managed it, * Text* ‘I’m here.’

Doc: Doc texted her back quickly, *Text* ‘Side entrance on the right back corner. Key code is 12012.’ Hitting send, he then sent Jane a text. ‘Seventy minutes until end of lockdown.’

Mortll: Mortll went to the door and punched in the code she managed to get the woman through the door It was a relief to get her out of the open sight of the outdoors. She looked around for a wheel chair or anything to lay the woman down on, she did not spy anything right away . She leaned a little against the wall with the woman and fished her phone back out of her pocket *Text* “I’m in; now where?’

Doc: Doc got the text as he rounded the corner. He didn’t say anything, he was still angry. He was trying to tell himself to calm down, but at the moment silence was his friend. He moved directly toward them. He picked up the prone female and headed back the way he came. Reaching cell number 5, he swiped the keypad, and entered. The metal door had been left open, since Doc have been going in every ten minutes to re-administer Thorazine until they could switch the girls out. Dropping the girl on the bed, he started to strip her. Hearing Mortll follow him in, he said flatly. “Strip her. This one, needs those clothes.”

"--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--"
Mortll: Mortll knew he was angry but she didn't have time to address anything but the problem at hand. She moved quickly undressing her childe. She brushed the hair out of the womans face. Everything had been so rough on her Mortll didn't want to lose her like this. She wondered what had finally made her snap the woman had been resilient She had a spark like Mortll had never seen. She had endured so much and her mind had still been sound when Mortll had turned her ... she knew that Riley's death had played into it but she had been holding on. Mason being gone had to have just been the last straw. Kendall must have finally just given over to the need to lash out and had lashed out at anything that was near. Mortll sighed and handed the clothes over to Doc. Without saying a word. The Talk would come later she knew and judging from his demeanor a good dose of anger would be coming with it .

Doc: Doc took the clothes from Mortll and tossed her the junkie’s clothes. He roughly redressed the female. She would need some bruises, one of the paramedics had delighted in filling the staff with all the gory details while Doc and the other Paramedic moved her into the cell. Rumor had it, it took four police officers to hold her down while the drug was administered. She would need bruises from that restraint. So he was none too gentle in the redressing task. He withdrew a vial and syringe from his jacket pocket. This was a cocktail mixture of his own design. One he used in the early days of chemical restraint. It tended to make the experiments babbling idiots, so he had retired it. But he kept it, and now he was glad he had.

Mortll: Mortll looked at the clothes she didn't exactly want to put them on her childe but it seemed best for now she was really wanting to whisk her away from all the problems and take care of her She was usually able to fix anything She rarely ever needed help. This situation was a new one for her ... She was relying on the man over there working on the other woman cleaning up what her childe had done. It was far from over with she knew. She glanced back at him. When she had finished.

Doc: "Upstairs." It was the unfinished floor. But it would have to do. He waited for Mortll to carry her childe out, and he injected the human with the chemical lobotomy. He exited the cell, and called down the hall, "Close cell five!" The glass doors slid shut and the metal door groaned as the mechanical bars slid home. One more he called down the hall, as he looked at his watch, "Lock down ends in twenty-two minutes people. Be prepared for the forensics team. Call me if I am needed." He motioned Mortll to the stairwell.

Mortll: Mortll moved down the hall to the stairs She stopped at the door waiting for him to catch up she carefully bumped the door open and started to climb .

Doc: “Last Cell on the right." Inside the cell, she would see a shock cage. At the moment that was the only way he had to contain her once the drugs wore off.

Mortll: Mortll carried her inside and she saw the shock cage and Turned .. “Is that necessary? It might break her down a lot further; and she wont trust you. It is bad enough you are a Doctor; and she doesn't trust Doctors. All she ever had, was abuse from doctors."

Doc: Was she ******* serious?! "She killed six ******* people, Mortll. And when she comes to, how do you expect me to keep her here? 'oh sorry dear.. you have been a bad girl.. you need to stay here..'” He snorted derisively, “Riiiiight... I am sure she will completely understand ‘that’ in her fugue rattled brain. What the **** was I thinking..? " The sarcasm was dripping heavily.

Mortll: Mortll gritted her teeth “... Yeah and you haven't ever just went overboard and done things you shouldn't have ... ?" She broke off before she said anything else. This wasn't the time. Mortll just knew what it was going to do to Kendall when she woke up in that thing. At least Mortll would be nearby hopefully keeping an eye on her .

Doc: "We aren't talking about me here, Mortll. We are talking about a supernatural being, one that is not in her right ******* mind.. who just assassinated six people in full view of at least a hundred eye witnesses. And you think it is simply something 'that she shouldn't have done? Wake the **** up! If she doesn't go into that cage.. she could very well become a rogue. For all I know she may be already there. And if she is, I will put her down myself."

Mortll: Mortll knew the deal she just didn't like it. Nor did she like the situation. Anything she said would be viewed as arguing at this point. She carried Kendall over to the cage being careful not to touch it. It was a good thing that Kendall was unconscious still. Mortll let her drop into the cage as carefully as she could and watched as it zapped her childe and locked her up tight .

Doc: Doc pointed to another cell. "You can stay there.” He gave her a pointed look. “Do not let the nuns see you." He then turned on his heel and strode off back down to the main floor.

Kendall felt herself drifting in and out of consciousness, the medicine seeming to be never ending. She opened her eyes and smiled at Riley standing next to the bed. “I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you honey and that I hurt you being with Mason. Riles I love him and now I can’t find him. He really is a good man. I wish you would see that. He wants to take care of both us, be our protector.” Her face moving into a frown as Riley hissed at her. “If he wants to protect us then where the hell is he Kendall? He left you because he’s a man. He used you and he left you. Face the facts.”

Kendall screamed at her sister, “No, No, No Riles. He love me and I think he’s hurt or lost. He’ll be back, you wait and see.”

The guard outside of the door looked in to see whom the girl was talking too. Seeing no one he alerted the nurse that the drugs were wearing off again.

Kendall tried to stand, only collapsing on the floor, she heard the door open once again, feeling the bite of the needle and the blackness closing in on her once again. In her dream she was floating but could not see anything, it was peaceful but an air of panic seemed to surround it. It made no sense in her fractured mind. A familiar voice seemed to keep intruding but Mortll’s words made no sense the things.

She felt her body as it was slowly laid down; she smiled as she looked up into Mason’s eyes, knowing the hours of pleasure that would soon follow. She tried to reach up to caress his face but quickly pulled her hand back as she felt the shock, a keening wail coming from her lips as his face turned into the doctor she had killed after her turning. She tried to get away from the shock, from the demon doctor, scrambling to the corner looking for protection. As her back hit the walls, she was shocked again and thrown to the floor. Her screams loud and reverberating around the room as she continued looking for protection. In her drugged state, her actions were like a cornered animal. The doctor’s face floating in the mind’s eye, she tried to crawl to a different corner as the medicine fully took hold as she collapsed in the middle of the cage, the floor being the only surface that would not hurt her.

Kendall lay still as death; tears sliding from her eyes unknowingly to her as her mind finally gave up and let the drug do its work.

Mortll supposed this was her fault she had been feeling so sentimental when she found the 2 women cowering in the crypt she had been turned in ... She had listened to their story and knew what it was like to be persecuted. Though the level of abuse they had suffered was much greater than she had ever endured . She had been missing Lady Rabies Merry and Perry and the others that had went on instead of living their lives . She thought that maybe just maybe she could help right a few wrongs .... Now here she was with The strong one in a drugged mass being held . She wished she could touch the woman and comfort her. She watched as she came too enough to thrash about the shock cage a bit and collapsed in a heap in the center.

Mortll felt helpless ... then she heard her grand ma mas crackled old voice speaking to her MA Cherie You know what to do comfort the childe like I used to comfort you remember your demons ...use them to chase away hers... Make her spirits leave her be let her rest . Mortll couldn't touch her because of the shock cage but she started talking to her Telling her that she was there Then she started to sing her the lullaby the old woman used to sing to her when the demons had attacked her had haunted her ...
Au clair de la lune
Les objets sont bleus
Plaignons l'infortune
De ce malheureux
Las ! sa fille est morte
Ce n'est pas un jeu
Ouvrez-lui la porte
Pour l'amour de Dieu.
Her voice was soft but still resonated through out the chamber.

Doc winced tightly as he shut the lid of the cesspool. The paladin’s blade had sunk deeply into the muscles of his upper arm; and now that the body was dumped, and the immediacy of the event was over, the pain radiated sharply. He tied his handkerchief as best he could around the wounded arm. Now the it was over, he was tired and he realized that he had let his anger over Mortll’s childe going ******* nuts and killing a bunch of innocent humans, that he had to clean up.

He had let his anger get the best of him. He had seen the red hair and immediately let the anger that was boiling just under the surface, get the best of him, and the fight was on. He took his anger and frustration about Kendall out on the paladin. He wasn’t upset that he killed the paladin. No. He was upset that he started the fight in the bar. A bar where he was known to be the ‘father’ of a couple of the employees. He had jealously guarded his reputation and in one weak moment he committed domestic violence against ‘his wife’. Luckily she retaliated. It did not make the situation any better, but given it happened in a biker bar, it would hopefully be overlooked as a common place event. It wasn’t like they were all upstanding law abiding citizens. And he was even luckier that none of his spawn were there at the time.

As Doc thought back over the nights events, he made it back to Winterbrook. He entered in through the side door he had directed Mortll to earlier. He wasn’t going to let the Penguins catch sight of his wound, it would raise too many questions. There he was skulking about in his own place, rounding up medical supplies so he could get his wound stitched up. Once he got the supplied he needed, he headed upstairs where he heard Mortll singing to the girl in the cage. “A little help…”

Mortll glanced up at the sound of his voice she had been lost heavily in thought as she sat singing the old woman's voice had vanished only to be replaced by her parents they never really said much except reassured her that they were still there . She shook her head partially clearing it of the voices and partially in acknowledgement. She was brimming with curiosity, but thought it best to wait and see what he said she knew how he got when anyone got overly questioning with him he shut up like a clam and damn you for asking .
You would never find out unless he wished it . She took the items from him and motioned for him to take a seat she went ahead and cut the ruined jacket and shirt from him and quickly cleaned up the wound . She judged it was from a knife . Her hands were steady as she grasped the curved needle in the forceps and laid them readily on the tray the local anesthetic would wear off quickly . She took great pleasure in giving him the shot and she quickly went to work silently stitching up his arm.

Kendall drifted in and out of consciousness. At times, she heard Mortll’s voice and a small smile would cross her lips. Another time she would hear a male voice and the tears would begin again because it was not Mason.

“Dead, he’s dead,” she mumbled as she laid there

She opened her eyes, everything blurry. Kendall tried to look around but it was taking too much effort. She struggled to clear her mind knowing she would be raped soon. It was what always happened when the doctors had drugged them. Her eyes closed as realized that Riley was gone and now Mason.

“Die…please….mama,” she whispered.

The drugs were wearing off and she could feel it. She opened her eyes, saw Mortll stitching up Doc’s arm, and wondered what was going on. She rolled to her back, looked around, and reached out to touch the wall only to be shocked again. The scream echoed around the small room as the girl held her hand to her chest trying to sit up. She only made it to her knees, her hands on the ground, her head hung down in defeat.

“Where am I?”

Her mind was confused, her body hurt, her heart hurt. She looked up into the eyes of Doc; his look angry as the memories of what she had done came flooding back to her. Her eyes grew wide.

“No…no…please….no…oh no, no, no!”
