An apology and a slide.

She had spent many nights walking the streets of harper rock, so many people out and about, she often wondered what it would be like to just enjoy the city. She was walking in a pair of black denim, figure hugging, jeans and a black cotton shirt covered by a black hoodie. She drew the hoodie up over her hair as she let her eyes scan the parks she had walked past.

She skipped along the side walk as she passed several men and smiled sweetly at them as she passed by. She spun slightly as she removed the hoodie and felt the gentle breeze through her hair, it was a lovely night for a walk. Her black leather doc martins stomped on the ground as she made her way to the new park.

She was told this one had what she was seeking, so many had disappointed her to the brink of tears. She caught the scent of flowers as she made her way to the park, a smile growing on her lips as she heard the children having fun. Could this place be the one she sought? Did it have the cruel item she needed, that she longed for?

She rounded the corner and there before her, in its perfect glory was the slide. A slide! Here, finally!. She giggled as she climbed it and then she felt like she was in heaven as she slid down it. She was lost in the joys, the thrill and the adrenalin she felt as she made her way back down it and laughed loudly. She kept sliding down the slide several times as she joyfully laughed at the joy she was having.

It wasn't to late of a night Mortll sighed she was here stuck working yet again , she loved working with the flowers she really did it was one of her passions turned into her favorite job. Yet lately it was getting too hum drum. She blamed Doc he had gotten under her skin to the point of her daydreaming constantly of other places she could be or things she could be doing. Suddenly the huge place seemed a bit too claustrophobic now that she had started thinking about him.

She slipped on a light shawl and Headed out the shop doors which were in the park a quick walk around the lake would cool her off and clear her head. It was a beautiful night the humans scattered lightly around the park enjoying the scenery . Mortll walked slowly filling her lungs with the crisp night air. She rounded the bend in the walking trail as it went by a well lit area she noticed a parent and child standing there she couldn't help but over hear their conversation. The child was tugging on her mothers sleeve "But Mommy why cant I go on the slide " The mother bent down and told the child " Im not letting you on that slide while there is a stranger on there and that's just it Annie If that grown girl gets off there and leaves then you can get on the slide and play but your just going to have to wait or go play on the swings until she gets done " the girls lip puckered and she stamped her foot " But I want to slide " The mother pulled the girls hand " Don't get a attitude with me Come on go to the swings or we will go home !" The girl looked as if she were about to cry as she reluctantly went in the direction her mother was almost pulling her.

Mortll all most laughed until she glanced up at the girl that was occupying the slide . She gulped "**** " she whispered under her breath . It had been awhile since she had seen that face but it was burnt into her memory . She walked closer to the slide partly out of curiosity partly out of a desire to apologies to the girl for the circumstances of their last meeting Her dilemma was exactly how did you tell someone Hey im sorry I killed you when they had accepted the fight ?"

The wind whipped through her blonde hair as she actually felt happy, she needed a slide at the complex she was staying at. Her blue eyes scanning the park as she caught the scent of another person, not human so much, she couldn't hear the heartbeat correctly. She gathered it was someone like her, the undead as they say in movies. Her laughter filled the area as she sped down the slide and onto the clear white sand.

Her toes wiggled in the sand as she twirled around and noticed the woman, Mortll? Hmm Jesse said Mortll right? She smiled at the woman and then waved as she darted back up the slide and slid down it, she really loved slides, had to do with her childhood, nothing bad happens on slides. She stood at the bottom of the slide as she looked at Mortll again and walked towards her.

After a few steps she poked her tongue out playfully and laughed, it was still musical as she noticed the shaved ice stand behind her. She loved shaved ice, it was great and always made her happy, maybe it would be a fun treat. Jesse had said not to worry about Mortll, so she didn't feel threatened, besides she was having fun. How many days do you find a slide in a city you searched for one? Her eyes moved over the woman as she tilted her head and smiled to Mortll.

As she got closer to Mortll she seemed to walk past her like you would anyone else, and kept walking to the shaved ice vendor and ordered a blue one and a red one. She paid the vendor and walked back to Mortll offering her the red one, surely the red was good enough cause she loved the blue. Her tongue slid over the shaved ice as she laughed and slowly ate some leaving her lips stained blue from the dye.

" They are yummy, and they make your lips turn different colours sometimes. " Her voice was soft, gentle and quiet as she ate more. The allurist girl smiled as she licked the shaved ice, she was only 21 but seemed to act like a 17 year old sometimes. Her innocence seemed to shine through her actions when she did odd things, but her age did help her blend into the crowd when she needed to hide.

Mortll watched as the girl slid down the slide quite cheerfully She could see now what she couldn't see earlier she was quite a innocent . Though a innocent with a gun and sword without them fully knowing how to handle one yet was just asking for trouble . She watched as the girl practically skipped to the shaved ice vendor she wasn't expecting her to come back and try to hand her one She looked at the outstretched hand shaking her head "No you go ahead and eat it , Im on a special diet " She smiled at the girl. "Im glad to see your out and about and that I ran into you . I would like to offer you a apology for over reacting a bit to your slip up I normally do not loose my head and use that much force " She shrugged her shoulders a bit uncomfortably
" Why did you accept the duel ? Did you not understand what it was ?"

The girl seemed to be quite cheerful it was almost catching Mortll looked at her quizzically.

Her eyes watched Mortll as she finished the blue shaved ice and move to the red one, she ate it oddly as she hoped the desired effect was reached. She wanted half blue half red lips as she giggled at the sudden chill running down the allurists throat. She looked around as Mortll spoke and then smiled to her. " Not really, it was all new and odd to me back then. And it is all fine, Jesse said it was dealt with and to move on so I have."

Her voice held not hatred or malice, just joy and happiness as she looked at Mortll. Her hair blew in the breeze as she spun around on her foot and she seemed lost in the thrill of the twirl before she looked at Mortll. " So what would you like to do? Because I would love to explore the flowers here, they are sooo blooming beautiful." She smiled sweetly as she looked at her. " Also family might check in on me later, but I really want to find a blue rose for Jesse and Renee and a white and yellow one for Tara."

Mortll cringed as she heard the names Jessie she didn't know much about other than he had attacked her while she was resting at Docs Him breaking in there instead of confronting her face to face when she was aware was enough to piss her off. She knew Renee that was the girl she had met at the Handlebar and had taken up with Simon Ward a panty waste of a vampire that tended to whine and cry to others if he had a backbone it was microscopic the girl was in for a rude awakening if she thought he would ever stick up for her he wouldn't even stick up for himself. This girl here (Stormy ) was the cheerful type that normally had Mortll running to get away from a conversation but she had brought up something that was dear to Mortll's cold heart Roses .

"Come with me and I will show you something you wont believe ... " she started to walk back in the direction she had came. Only glancing back once to see if the girl was coming or not .
She entered the shop the fragrance of flowers sweetening the air she did not stop by the shop or even go into the gardens she took a left and went up the stairs to the roof at the top it opened up. Into a huge sanctuary a large field strewn with blossoms and trees tall ornamental grasses There were also hidden doors that lead to her secret hot houses. Mortll made her way to one door and opened it There was no mistaking what type of flowers that lay inside. The fragrant smell of roses assaulted her and she inhaled deeply. There were every type of rose here imaginable some that had never been seen by other eyes than Mortlls and now her childe Leonitus that worked for her.

Now these, these were her real childer her babies she had been cultivating, collecting, and experimenting for the last 4 years for the results that laid before her and she was damn proud of it .

She smiled as she tilted her head, she should put the past behind her, after all it is best to move on when you want to learn. Sticking to the past makes you repeat them, but if you learn and move on then you wont. She nodded at Mortlls offer and hesitantly at first followed. When she looked back she blushed and stepped forward and followed her normally.

She watched several people take over her slide as she frowned, she was going to steal that and put it somewhere safe one night. Her blue eyes moved over everyone they passed as she lightly skipped behind the woman, she seemed full of sugar. Her eyes scanned over the building as she waited for a moment and then slipped into the store, she was thankful she could. The scent of flowers hit her as she seemed to smile widely and tried to take in the sight. Her hands reached for them when she noticed Mortll move off and followed, she shouldn't linger if Mortll was leading somewhere.

She followed closer then before as she walked up the stairs and into the night air on the roof as she blinked. It seemed another realm really, so many flowers she felt like she could lounge about them and not waste a single moment. Her eyes darted from one flower to the other before she noticed Mortll had moved and skipped over to her. When the door open she felt her jaw drop.

" So many roses, you must be in heaven here. I could spend my life here and not waste a single second ever." Her voice was soft as she spoke and took in the sight that was before her. She simply adored roses, they were to her like chocolate was to humans, simply perfect and made her happy. She reached forward and gently caressed a single rose as she seemed lost in bliss.

This was Mortlls sanctuary the place she went to when all else seemed bad in the world she had shown very few it. Why she was showing this girl she did not know . She watched as the girl lit up at seeing her beauties. "These are the old world roses ... they aren't your basic hot house hybrid Tea roses that everyone in America has seemed to fall in love with" she pointed at the roses their heads of multitudes of petals , many of them in intricate designs it seemed. "Further in the back are climbing roses Jacobs coat and many, many more. These over here are The normal Tea roses and the Hybrids of each verity". "Come look at the Galicia roses "she pointed at the huge round blooms each blossom forming such a beautiful intricate design "and the Damask roses."
She led the way further into the huge hot house "Over there are the China roses " She pointed to the looser petalted roses. She walked up to a pale pink rose with a multitude of petals they seemed to form a spiral on the inside " This is the Bourbon they are believed to have originated in Madagascar " she caressed the soft petals and picked up a pair of pruning sheers nearby and snipped the rose and quickly cleaned up the thorns and foliage handing it to Stormy " Here this one is for you Now what did you want to get for your friends ?" she looked at the girl quizzically
