A doorman stands outside of the building and has been instructed to turn away anyone who isn’t listed on the guest list. The pool hall itself is nothing special. The place is obviously closed for a private function but when you walk in there are no additional decorations that show as much. There are half a dozen or so pool tables, a small bar and a modest seating area. The music styling for the night consists of alternative rock bands like Nickelback, Halestorm, Cheap Trick, etc. The bar staff is one lone human, Skylar’s new thrall, and her name is Sapphire. The petite brunette isn’t much of a conversationalist and while friendly and accommodating doesn’t appear to be fit for anything more than bar tending or possibly stripping. The bar, being closed to the public, has been furnished with blood courtesy of Elliot. Party favours are about the only sign that there is in fact a celebration going on but much like the couple, they aren’t what people would expect. There are a number of small canvas bags that read “Best Wishes” on them and inside each are a couple of multi-coloured wishbones sourced from a variety of birds.

I don't like parties, but here we are. I'm looking around and I'm sure I can do this. There's going to be no one else here but those that RSVP'd, so it can't be all that bad. Hosting a party, that is. I know at least half the guest list, so it should be fine.
I'm not wearing anything fancy. I told other people to wear what they wanted to. I hate, HATE dressing up. **** that ****. This is who I am and I wasn't going to pretend to be something I wasn't. I was wearing black jeans, my typical black boots and a black shirt that said, "Love Bites, But so do I." It amused me.
I'm trying to play pool, or rather, learn how to play pool. I'm not good at it, but Skylar's giving me the run down before the party starts. Here's hoping things go alright.

I look at Ric and smile. I’m not sure if he’ll be able to keep his promises for the night but I know he’ll try. I know he hates large gatherings and being social and stuff, so we needed something in place to make the whole thing more bearable for him. Taking five minutes out here and there should help him stick it out.
Having finished chalking my cue, I rub my fingers together to get rid of the dust. I thought about wiping them on my soft leather pants but that didn’t seem like the best idea, and I’m sure as **** not wiping them on my top.
I hold the cue, rubber end resting on the floor, as I look at the table. Instinctively my other hand comes up to twist the ring that now sits on my ring finger. I’m not used to it being there yet. Doubt Ric is either, but putting off wearing them now they’re finished would be, well, dumb. Of course I’d have to take the thing off to show it off properly, as all the decoration is on the inside; they’re less memorable this way, just the way Ric likes it.

Busty flew through the sewers on the way to the QZ it was almost time, almost time for wedding of her sire. Quickly she sped to the apartment, only slowing to slay a feral on the way to the elevator. A quick shower, then she slipped into her new dress She had bought it for the occasion, Pyper said she looked nice in it. She hoped it was true. She settled on the sofa and waited, her Pyper would be home soon. Quietly she tapped her foot as she waited.

I take my shot and stand back from the table.
“Nervous babe?”
I glance over at the bar and roll my eyes to see Sapphire fixing her make-up in a hand mirror. I’m not sure how I ended up with her exactly. She just kinda attached herself to me. I’m not sure she’s the kinda girl I wanna hang around with but she seems to be accepting the world she’s found herself in.
I’ve had a couple of drinks at this point but not enough to give me a buzz or anything; just enough to help me focus on the party and numb the thoughts of Dillon that were still plaguing my every waking moment. I kinda have to hope that dies down eventually, though to be fair this pain is pretty new. I’m not all that experienced when it comes to grieving either. If Elliot shows, like he said he would, I’ll have to hope he doesn’t pick up on my pain.
I look Ric over. Yeah. He killed my best friend but my god is he gorgeous. I smile and glance over at the door. It’s probably about time people started rolling in.

Collecting had become a more enjoyable venture for Pyper. The use of guns were more effective for the creatures in the tunnels. This night she didn't focus too much on shoving the relics Charles needed into her bag. She had five for him already. She recently lightened the load, putting three translucent jewels in Nerissa's pocket. The diamonds had been the last coveted object. Something of an obsession. It was the act of working, of seeing a physical pile of her success that pleased her. She let go of the gems out of necessity. Charles had divulged in her about his use for these specific objects, and Charles meant more than gems.
She hadn't realized the time. Or that they were going to be late if she didn't get back to the apartment now. By the time the door opened, the blonde would have just enough time to get ready. As it stood, her shapeless black attire was her work attire. The extracurricular activities she and her mentor holed themselves up in secrecy in order to do. The killing, the dissecting.
"I'm sorry, Beverly. I forgot about time. I will, be quick." Yet even the frantic Telepath pauses to set a kiss to the other set of lips.
Then she hustled and put herself
together.

Nerissa walked into the apartment and saw Beverly and Pyper getting ready. "Oh yeah, that thing was tonight!" Without another word she quickly put on a black leather jacket over her purple tank top and joined the other women. "Mind if I go with you? I'm not too familiar with the way." She tied her long hair into a ponytail to keep it out of her face

I lean down closer to the table and try to get a better alignment of the cue ball and the balls we just racked up and broke. I glance up at Skylar and shake my head. "No." I'm not nervous. I just don't know how to be a host. Still, that doesn't make me nervous. There are a lot of things I don't know. This is a step towards progression.
"Are you?" I ask before I take a shot at the balls on the table, stand and put the cue stick behind my arms and use it to stretch out my back. My eyes fall on the wishbones I made for the occasion and I nod. It was a good idea, along with Skylar's 'best wishes' idea to go along with it.

I think he must have caught me watching him cos now he’s posing with the pool cue. I guess he figures he’s gonna lose and so is trying to distract me. I’m good at the game but I tend to play better some days than others.
“I’m not nervous. I worried for you though. I mean I think you’ll be able to stick it out. I’m just wondering how you’re gonna handle things later on when I’m drunk and singing on the bar. If you’re lucky I might even keep my clothes on.”
I’m teasing him of course, well, with the last part. The singing on the bar, I’d definitely do. The stripping part would require a lot more alcohol and a lot of incentive. Not that Ricky isn’t incentive enough for me to get naked. I’m just not the sort to whip my top off and bare all without good reason. And no. a bottle jack is not reason enough.

The allurist was nervous, unsure of what was expected. Seventeen years cloistered, had deprived her of many things. Weddings and parties were not the most of these. She watched as Nerissa and Pyper readied. Her eyes traced their forms, pleasure in the smile that graced her lips. One was hers, one she would not touch. She counted herself blessed now. Now that she was free. Free of them. Free at last. Smiling she rose, and slipped towards the door. She was ready, and would be accompanied by two of the most beautiful women she had ever seen. "To the party?"
