Day of Restoration: Festival at Redheart Arena

Redheart Arena, home to the local ice hockey team, has been transformed for one it’s legendary festival events. The rink has become a dancefloor and a stage has been set up on which local bands were invited to come and play. Much like any festival, concession stands littered the perimeter and all manner of food and drink were available (for an inflated price of course). The arena itself is decked out with silver and gold bunting, which plays into the fire and ice theme for the event. Seating is limited, but each small seating area has a little table with four chairs, the table is covered in a simple red table cloth with a small centrepiece which consists of a small silver vase with a few red and white carnations in it. Tiki torches are strategically placed throughout the arena, though mainly in the concession areas where staff can keep an eye on proceedings. To fit in with the theme, the arena also maintains a thin, low laying layer of artificial smoke, which is maintained by smoke machines at every exit. Festival goers are fitted with a plastic silver bracelet as they enter the arena and pay a modest entry fee; this bracelet allows them to come and go from the venue as they like.

I practically run to the stage which is a chore in heels I can tell you, not to mention that the f’ing things are brand new. Stupid dress code. I fiddle with the waist band of my equally new trousers as I wait for the organiser to pull out the paperwork. Having found the list she starts rattling off band names to me.
“Look I just need the time for Electric Lies. I think we’re up early.”
I could have used my superpowers to get us bumped closer to the headliners but that might have drawn undue attention our way. Dillon wasn’t thrilled by our position but he had to concede that we were lucky to get a spot at all, all things considered.
I fold my arms across my t-shirt and try not to tap my foot with impatience as I wait for the information I need.

Beverly was wandering the streets, picking up discarded items that she could reuse into creative works when she noticed a large sign before the arena. A party. She finally had a few dollars in her bank account, and decided she would buy a ticket. Her life had been cloistered, and she had no idea what to expect, but she want to experience life, and a party sounded just right. She looked down at her dress, it was her only one, but it was clean. Slipping into line, she offered cash to the woman who was selling small bracelets, then slipped quietly inside. The arena was huge, but the settings, and atmosphere gave an intimate feel to it.

I finally get told when we're up and take out my phone to text Dillon and let him know. I'm kinda surprised he's not here already to be honest, I mean he's the one that booked the thing. Well actually no, that's a lie, I did but it was his idea and he did get me a face to face with the organiser so that I could persuade them to put us in the line-up.
I walk back towards the entrance, phone still in hand as I now tap out a text to Ric. This really isn't his scene but he should know where I am and what I'm up to. I think I told him a couple of days ago, but it never hurts to double up on stuff like this. I’m not really looking where I’m going but that’s kinda normal for me anyways.

Jana approached the arena apprehensively, her left hand fluttering over the red gemstones that trailed opp her throat. She had no plans to perform tonight, this was just for fun. So she paid the cover charge and wandered inside. Her
corset and
leather pants marked her as a performer, even if she wasn't performing. She was done up as a being of flames, darkness and fire. Red flames on black leather, creeping up her throat. Oh, she loved it! Even though she was a being of water, this party was dedicated to flame and freeze. And she loved it.

Two events based on Bancroft's announcements. If there was information to be had -- if this was a move by their new "benefactor" -- it was necessary to attend one of these events. He opted for the one attended by humans: there would be enough eyes elsewhere. It was more important to observe the humans who responded to the invitation.
There had almost been an incident at the door when the staffer couldn't get the bracelet on properly. The illusionary human form of the human and the physiological truth were in conflict: his real hand was several sizes larger. A bit of supernatural confusion, and he got the bracelet on by cutting it open first.
Once inside, he made his way down to the first row overlooking the court. One of the first here... punctuality was not a common human trait for social events. He would have to remember that.

Beverly started to wander amongst the tables, looking at the decorations. Her hands slid over the cloth on the tables absorbing the textures. So much was new and strange to her, she had never seen such extravagance before. She must be early as she only saw two others walking the room that did not wear the uniforms of employees, one of them looked familiar, the one busy on her phone. Moving closer she smiled softly and called out "Skyler?" It was the woman her sire had introduced her to

I look up just in time to avoid crashing into some girl in fetish gear.
“Nice trousers.”
I compliment the trousers she has on and begin to walk on my way. I’m not lying, they are kinda nice. I can’t really pull off stuff like that. I can barely pull of the gold trousers I have on. To add insult to injury the things – while clinging in all the right places – make moving about almost as much of a chore as the new heels do. As much as I l love being a girl, there are times in my life when I really wish I was a guy; this being one of them.
“Oh hey babe.”
My reply to Beverly is automatic, as is my smile, but that doesn’t mean they’re fake. I mean them. It just takes me a moment to recognise her.

Beverly returned the smile as her eyes followed the woman with the flame red hair. She was beautiful. Her outfit so different than anything the allurist had ever seen before. Looking down at her self she shook her head as it rose to meet Skylar's eye's. "They probably dont make something like that...to fit something like these." Glancing around she turned back, "Is Roderic here, I do not see him anywhere" It was obvious that the man walking to the front was not her sire, though he walked with purpose, something that Roderic always did. Once more she turned in a slow circle, her eyes drinking it all in. "I have never seen anything like this before. What is going to be done here?"

I giggle as she hints at the fact that her boobs make dress shopping a nightmare, and then answer her question.
“If Ric’s here he’s hiding in a corner somewhere. I told him I’d be here tonight but I don’t think he’ll show. Too many people.”
I gesture with my hand to the growing crowd around us.
“And you have to stick around ‘kay. I’m gonna be on stage later. We’re playing covers but that’s not a problem really. You kinda have to build a fan base before you can play your own stuff.”
I realise I’ve gone all musician like on the woman and throw my arms around her by way of greeting, apology and goodbye.
“I hate to dash off but I need to go kick my drummer out of bed. I’ll be back in a bit, ‘kay? Don’t go anywhere.”
I smile and head for the exit.
