Dying for the high life? : Tiamat

Demi started the day like any other. The alarm beside her bed shrieking at her over and over despite slamming the snooze button into oblivion. Though once her bedside lamp came on with the timer and flooded the room with artificial orange light and elongated shadows that danced across the walls like some kind of horror film nightmare.

It took her a few hours to get ready, showered and dressed before heading out into the darkness, she worked the night shift in a 24 hour clothing store at the mall, it was hellish but the money was good and the customers were always so talkative, she loved it. Just not the hours. Stepping onto the empty subway and rode without a ticket, it was rare she paid for it since she only did one stop and no one bothered to check the tickets anymore, why waste the money on scraps of paper?

Stepping off the tram, the chocolate woman moved through the mall and into the back of the store, getting quickly dressed before moving out onto the shop floor with her broad smile. Making sure the place was clean and tidy before a customer could come in and complain. The day staff never were very good at cleaning!

"Demi! You're late. Again!"

The voice boomed out over the cashier and she sighed inwardly. The clock on the wall was actually 20 minutes fast so if she was late, it wasn't by much. Moving over to tap the clock on the till and offered her co-worker a welcome and warm smile.

"Nice to see you too George, but that's the real time. The one on the wall has been changed again! Probably so the day manager could go home early... Go get the ladders and change it back so we don't confuse the customers?"

Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” played from the radio as Tiamat sat in front of her mirror brushing her long hair. Her long legs were crossed at the ankles as she stared at the grotesque image that stared back at her. This is the one thing I hate about being a vampire she thought. She opened a small black bottle of nail polish and the acrid smell of lacquer drifted up. She slowly painted her nail. Her breath felt cool on her fingertips as she blew on the polish. The front door was opened and then closed.

She rose to her feet, straightened her strapless red dress, and went into the main room. A mountain of a man stood in the entry way. He wore a dark silver suit and the first two buttons on his white shirt were undone. He had a large green duffle bag slung over his shoulder. The scent of his cologne attempted to mask the vague smell of weed and sewage. Tia approached the man and held out her hand.

“Well, I hope you collected me high quality samples tonight Joseph,” the much shorter woman stated as she took the duffle from him.

“Tonight was a pretty decent night, boss,” he replied as he removed his shoes and placed them into a black bag. “Boss, I really need to get a car of my own here. I lose more shoes going through the sewers to get here.”

“Yes Joseph, you’ve complained a lot about that,” was the bored reply, “I want to go shopping. Go get clean and be quick about it.”

Joe nodded and left to shower. Tiamat unzipped the bag and started removing various firearms and parts from inside. She set each item on the table to examine them. One, a rifle, had a very beautiful scope attached to it. She set about to begin disassembling the device when a banging from behind her caught her attention. She turned her attention to the sound and watched as Irra, her King Cobra pressing his head against the top of his tank. She grabbed a large rat from the freezer and placed under the ceramic heater to warm up.

“I’m sorry Irra, you’re hungry. Momma’s going to feed you soon,” she cooed at the serpent as she pulled him from the tank. Irra wrapped himself up the woman’s arm and flicked his black tongue out. Her painted fingers lightly ran over the beast’s scaled head. She grabbed the now warm rat, and held it in front of the snake. The snake struck like lightening and swallowed the rodent. Tia placed Irra back in the back in the glass cage and turned around in time for Joe to return in a new black suit.

It was a short drive from the apartment to the mall. She headed to a small clothing boutique, a place she’d been to numerous times. There were few customers in the store when the pair arrived. The well folded clothing and the straightened racks greeted all who entered the store. Tiamat tossed a slight smile and a wave at the employees as they stood near the registers chatting. Joe stood near the door and waited in silence as Tiamat walked through picking up various dresses, pant’s, and tops to try on. When she had gathered enough articles of clothing, she headed to the fitting rooms and waited to be let in.

Demi: Demi there's someone waiting for you! *her co-worker snapped her out of the day dream and caused her to look over, the ebony woman's jaw dropping* it's her.. That woman has like.. A car that comes with the price tag of never ever ever. *she whispered then moved over and held out a small circular token* here you go, pick any open booth, I'll be just here if you need help

Tiamat: Tiamat heard a little of the conversation that took place between the pair. She grinned as the young black woman approached. She took the token with her free hand nodded. "Thank you, very much," she said as she approached the nearest empty fitting room. She closed the door behind her and began trying on clothing. Those she liked went into one grouping. Those she didn't, in another.

Demi: *rocked on her feet slowly, making eyes to her co-worker before looking behind her to the changing booths, waiting for him to come to her so they could keep whispering* what's she doing in here? She probably owns more stuff than we stock. *she looked confused but grinned when she was reminded of the commerce this woman would bring in to the little store*

Tiamat: Tia tucked her hair behind her ears and smirked. While the employees were being quiet enough for humans, they weren't quiet enough for someone like her. Someone who was a vampire. She exited the dressing room in her own outfit. She motioned for the man by the door and proceeded to thrust her unwanted clothing into the man's arms. "Joseph, be a dear and put these back where they came from," she told her companion. "Yes ma'am," came the deep reply before he turned around and began returning everything to the shelves and racks. "May I leave these at the register," she asked as she turned to the whispering pair.

Demi: Of course! If you'd like, we can get them priced and bagged up whilst you carry on shopping. Is there something in particular you're after? *she smiled warmly and led the woman aside, turning to her co-worker as the larger man walked off, mouthing the words* she has a butler

Tiamat: "Thank you that would be nice. I'm not looking for anything particular, just some new outfits for work," she replied as they headed to put her stuff down, "Oh, Joseph, grab that black and purple dress for me over there," she called out across the store while pointing. She placed her items onto the counter and turned to the woman helping her. "I'd like to see the best dresses that you have in stock."

Demi:: Pretty sure you could buy all of the dresses in stock... *she muttered under her breath as she thumbed through the dress rack, pulling out three cocktail dresses out, two in black, one in red.* we get more each week and we mix up the styles every second month so if these don't suit you, feel free to come back when we have newer stock.

Tiamat: "Thank you, she said before leaning in close, "What's that perfume you're wearing right now?" She draped the dresses over her arm and took a quick glance around. She decided she'd pretend that she hadn't heard the girl’s mutterings for now. When Joe came back to them she took the dress he had and added it to the rest of them.

Demi: It's nothing special, just Jimmy Choo. *smiled then went back to re-organizing the dress rack, mumbling* if you like it, it's pretty expensive so I use the tester strips they offer out. You can keep going back and getting more! They don't stop you

Tiamat: "Thank you, I may have to get a bottle of it sometime." She turned and went back towards the fitting room area. She tried each and every dress on and looked them over in the mirror. She took her time in the room; after all, they were not going to be closing any time soon. The zipper on the black and purple dress seemed to have gotten caught as she attempted to try it on. "May I have some assistance; this dress is having a tiny malfunction."

Demi: *nods as she pulls back the curtain to help the woman* sure! What's the problem? *she looked over the dress then nods* ah... Yeah. That happens sometimes, hold still *she wiggled the zip down a bit before pulling it up slowly, making sure it didn't stick again*

Tiamat: Tia remained motionless as the dress was zipped around her. She carefully moved one of the other dresses and hung it in front of the mirror, blocking the reflection. No sense letting the girl know something's off, she thought. "Thank you for the help with the zipper." She glanced back slightly at the other woman. "How much is this dress?"

Demi: This one? Well it should be 250. But with the zip sticking we can knock it down to around 200. Especially if you're going to be buying everything else with it? *she smiled a little and nods, glancing over to the pile of clothes already at the tills*

Tiamat: "That's okay; I'll pay the regular price." She took the dresses off the wall and stepped to the side before taking the last dress from the mirror and holding them out."I'm going to take all of them" She ran her hands along the dress and lightly caressed the cloth. "Any chance I can wear this out?"

Demi: Uhm... Sure I guess? *she took the tag off and nods* Meet us at the tills when you're ready Miss. *She smiled and went back to her co-worker, muttering faintly* She's buying the dress, the one with the jammy zip? I offered her the discount price and she wants it full price! I'd love to live like that.

Tiamat: Tia was collecting her things when her phone buzzed in her purse. She took a quick glance at the text message that was sent by Joe. 'I think we have a possible addition. The girl's impressed.' She calmly replaced her phone and pulled out a small black card and silver pen. She quickly checked her watch and did a mental time check. She rapidly scribbled on the card. One side said her name “Parking garage. Five Minutes" she left the fitting room with her personal effects and headed up to the register to pay.

Demi: *slid each item through, hesitating on the discounted dress tag but scanned it regardless. If the woman wanted to pay full price and she ran it at a discount anyway? She'd probably get fired or something* And the token for the changing room? Or is it still in there?

Tiamat: "Oh, was I to bring that back up?" She tilted her head and glanced over at Joe who was already heading back to the fitting room to collect the object. "It appears as though my assistant is already on his way to retrieve it." She turned back to the girl and ran her slender fingers through her hair before continuing," What is my total tonight?"

Demi: Oh, no it's fine Miss we can collect it. Don't worry... *she was still in shock that someone could afford an assistant, never mind the pile of clothes in front of them. Her eyes flitted to the cash register and she blinked a few times* All together... 1,250. Are you paying card?

Tiamat: "No, I'll be paying in cash. The bank wanted to charge extra for a debit card." She reached into her wallet and counted out the correct amount of money. A large dark hand set the fitting room token down on the counter then moved back. "Thank you Joseph." She passed her personal clothing over to the man who then carefully folded the items and held onto them.

Demi: *slid the token into her pocket, a little taken by surprise at the sudden placement of it, not even noticing the insane amount of cash being handed over, blinking a few times when she did see it, until it registered in her brain* Uh.. Okay then. *she smiled and took the payment before slipping it to her colleague who counted it under the till, making sure it was all there, and all real.* would you like your receipt in the bag?

Tiamat: "That would be wonderful dear, thank you," Tia replied. She smiled warmly as held out her again, this time with the small business card in it. The black haired woman held the piece of paper in a way to hide her pinky. She had made the decision to bring the girl into the fold. 'Why not has some fun with it,' she thought. A tiny scratch should inject just enough neurotoxins into her veins to make for an interesting night.

Demi: *held out the bags and took the card curiously. Pulling her hand back a little as she cut the side of her finger, presumably on the card.* Sharp... What's this for Miss? Do you want to place some in the store? I mean... We don't normally allow that but I'm pretty sure my manager wouldn't mind.

Tiamat: Tia smiled as she felt her nail scratch flesh. She reached out and took the bags before passing them over to Joe. "The card's for you. Be sure to read the whole thing. Thank you for the help tonight." She turned around and headed for exit with Joe right behind her. as she passed through the doorway, she held her hand up over her shoulder with her fingers splayed out to say 'five'

Demi: *didn't know why the woman stuck her hand in the air, until Demi turned the card over and read the little message. Not realizing the poison burning a path through her veins* Hey... uhm, so I'll be right back. Hold the fort! *she grabbed her coat and followed out after the woman, turning this way then that before her brain finally gave her the right way to the parking garage.*

Tiamat: Tia heard footsteps coming behind her and Joe. She took a quick a glance at her and grinned. She leaned against her black Corvette and turned her gaze to the other woman. "Three and a half minutes. I'm impressed. I love punctuality. How are you feeling by the way? No pain anywhere?"

Demi: I like to be early for things. *she panted a little, having run there. Accidentally helping spread the venom that little bit faster* Yeah in my hand, and my side but I ran here... just a stitch... it'll pass in a minute *of course it wasn't a stitch but she didn't know that, and the pain was spreading outwards. Tingly at first, like pins and needles... All over.*

Tiamat: "Hm," she said as she glanced at Joe. She opened the door and popped the passenger seat forward. "Shall we go for a ride dear," she asked girl as she passed her keys to the large man. "I think we'll have a lot of things to discuss."

Demi: *stopped and stared at the car in question, awestruck and a little stunned into silence* Uh.. I have work still lady.. I mean, if there's a problem with your dress I can refund you the full amount! *she'd seen the films! Get in a car with a rich person, end up over a bridge with concrete shoes in a river somewhere*

Tiamat: She chuckled as she raised an eye brow and the girl's comment. "The dress is fine. Allow me to clarify myself. I have a business proposal for you. It is a time sensitive matter though. I'll explain on the way."
Tiamat lightly tapped the roof of the car and waited for the girl's response. She glanced at her and frowned slightly.

Demi: *nods and held her side, the pain still hadn't gone, if anything it'd gotten worse!* Okay.. sure. *the response was quiet, timid. Forced almost through gritted teeth as she slid into the vehicle, still clutching her side though her fingers felt like they were being dipped in acid*

Tiamat: Tiamat slid into the back seat with the girl. Once everything was situated, Joe got into the driver's seat and the engine roared to life. Tiamat made herself comfortable and turned to look at Demi."So, I guess I should start with explaining something," Tia stated, "That pain you're feeling, it's not from running to meet with me. It's an effect from neurotoxins. Speficly, from the King Cobra which, by the way, isn't actually from the same family as true cobras. Although, you're probably not that interested at the moment." she gently placed a hand on the woman's leg. "Here's my deal, Joseph says you like the lifestyle I live. I'd like to offer you a job."

Demi: *blinked then stared at the woman, her heart beat going through the roof as panic set in* you.. You poisoned me?! Oh god.. I need the hospital. Let me out! How can I work for you if I'm dead?! How

Tiamat: "Here's the thing, in order to do this job, you need to be dead. More or less. Of course, if you'd rather not have the power and wealth that comes with this job, i can get you the anti venom. However the only known sample in Canada would be back at my place, and there's no guarantee we'll make it there in time. It's not every day I bestow my blessing on mortals here."

Demi: D.. Dead? What kinda job is this?! *clutches at her side in pain and bites her lip, her free hand digging into the side of the car interior* It hurts.. So much.. Make it stop! I'll do anything just make it stop!

Tiamat: Tiamat smiled and ran her fingers down the woman's neck. "Now this may hurt for a minute. After that, your new life begins." She opened her mouth and sunk her fangs into Demi's throat. She slowly began to drain her.

Demi: *froze and let out a pained sound, she had no idea what this woman was doing but she'd definitely need a rabies shot now, if the venom didn't kill her first*

Tiamat: Tia placed one hand on Demi’s chest. She could feel the beating of her heart growing fainter. She leaned back and drove her fangs into her lower lip cutting it wide open. she pressed her bleeding mouth roughly against the lips of Demi. She forced her own blood into the girl's mouth as she kissed her.

Demi: *groaned faintly and twitched in pain, her head rolling to the side as she clawed pathetically at the interior of the car. The ebony arm slumping to her side as she grew too weak to even think of moving. Just laying there trying to ignore the pain, and the sudden shock of being kissed. Swallowing numbly as she tried to gasp for air*

Tiamat: Tiamat leaned back as she felt the girl swallow. She ran her fingers through Demy’s hair and smiled. "It's okay now; the pain will stop in a moment. And then you begin your new life my dear." She reached over and touched Joe's shoulder. "Make sure you stop at a drive through ATM Joseph okay?"

Demi: *relaxes and struggles to keep her eyes open, her body slowly shutting down so it could do a re-boot. On a vampiric scale. Still limp, still barely moving as she caught snippets of the conversation, murmuring faintly* No... No money, no card. Can't rob me... *She laughs, deliriously*

Tiamat: She gently patted Demi's head. "Sh, just relax and sleep. When you wake up, we'll talk." She sat against the side of the car and put her feet up on the center console as their driver zipped between the cars and around the turns. "What do you think Joseph? You think she'll be able to handle this life?" "You're the goddess Miss Tiamat," he chuckled as he looked into the rear view mirror, "Shouldn't you be certain of these things"

Demi: *didn't need telling twice, heck she didn't even need telling once. She was out cold in minutes. Tossing and turning in the back seat as she groaned in what sounded like pain but she looked fine, albeit a little sickly.*

Tiamat: "Joseph, do you mind putting on some music while we head home," she asked as she closed her eyes. "Of course Miss Tiamat," he replied as he turned on the iPod. Songs from various rock artists drifted through the speaker. The black car pulled up to the ATM and stopped. "How much are you taking out?" Tiamat opened up one eye and glanced at Demi before answering Joe. "Let's give her twenty thousand to get her started." a few minutes later the car was back on the road.

Demi: *woke up after a few minutes, groggy and shivering before lurching forward, spewing her stomach contents over the inside of the car as she held her sides. Her fangs showing just inside her lips*

Tiamat: "Joseph...” she began.”I know Miss Tiamat; I'll have the car cleaned immediately when we get home." Tiamat turned to look at Demi. "Good morning sunshine. Did you have a nice nap?"

Demi: Nap? I feel like crap! You poisoned me... You... *paused and looked confused, her tongue flicking against her fangs before she muttered* it's not morning...

Tiamat: "You're correct, it's not morning. Also, it was venom, not poison. It's also all over the floor of my car now" She tapped Joe on the shoulder again and he passed her a large stack of bills and a small black bag. She held them out to Demi and spoke, "I'll keep the explanation simple. You're a vampire now. I need someone to help collect guns and gun part as well as construct new firearms for sale among other tasks. This is twenty thousand dollars to get you started, and," she gently patted the bag, "is a custom gun made by yours truly, with a fair amount of ammo."

Demi: Vampires aren't real... And you said you had a job for me, I'm not a drug mule... And I'm not a gun maker. I've never even shot a gun before! Let me out... I promise I won't call the cops

Tiamat: Tiamat sighed and set the money on top of the bag. She reached into her purse and pulled out her portable mirror and flipped it open before holding it in front of Demi's face. "You'll be fine. Besides that, the only "drug mule" is Joseph. And that's only when it's slim pickings for gun parts."

Demi: *stares at the little mirror in shock, fear and queasiness* oh god I'm a ******* zombie! What did you do to me... *touches over her face as she nearly cried*

Tiamat: She closed the mirror and put it back in her purse. "Zombies exist, but not vampires huh," Tia said, "You handled that far better than I did when I first saw myself in a mirror. That image isn't real. Good news, "you'll stay young forever now."

Demi: I never said they were real either but I just saw one in that mirror... How can it not be real?! I just saw it! *holds her head and groans in pain, all this was causing her brain to implode*

Tiamat: "Do I look like a decayed corpse to you?" She pulled the mirror back and flipped open before turning it on herself. She angled it so that Demi could see her reflection. "What does the mirror show you about me?"

Demi: *eyed the woman, then turned her gaze to the reflective screen and gagged, closing it quickly before shaking her head* That's one fucked up mirror...

Tiamat: "All mirrors do that." She picked the money back up and held it out to the woman. "You want to actually make money now or not?"
Demi: So now I have to avoid all mirrors? Great... *sighed then blinked as 20 grand was shoved her way* Uh... What's the catch? You don't just hand out this kinda money for nothing...

Tiamat: "The catch is, you work for me. I need guns and parts, you'll bring me some. I'll teach you to make better guns yourself, and we sell them."
Demi: *bit her lip then flinched a bit and moved a hand to her mouth* Mother fu-.. That really hurt.. *she padded down her healing lip, looking for the bite mark but gave up when she couldn't find it, sighing faintly* So I really don't have much choice here do I? Is this how you made all your money? Illegal stuff

Tiamat: "Interestingly enough," Tia began as she pulled her hair back over her shoulders, "I've only been acquiring my parts from discards around the city. Also from my job at the restaurant."

Demi: Oh yeah! 'Cause you can gets a car like this working at a restaurant. Lady please, I'm not an idiot
Tiamat: "Of course not, that's why I have my side business here." She smiled as she
pulled out a pay stub from the Dragon's Lair restaurant. "We can keep debating this, or you can take the offer and start making more money than you are now."

Demi *eyes the 20k. It was more than her entire year’s wage. In one night. Sitting in her lap.* I.. Uh I.. I.. *she was stumped, silenced. Just giving a meek nod*

Tiamat: "Good." A smile crossed Tia's lips as she turned to Joe. She pulled out a small ID card. She passed it forward as the car pulled up to the security gate of the QZ. "We're home now,..What's your name," she asked turning back to face Demi.

Demi: *didn’t even notice they'd passed through the quarantine checkpoint. Too busy staring.. And counting the pile of cash in her lap* huh? Oh.. Demi, Demi Ozera.
Tiamat: "I'm Tiamat, you've met Joe here, and this," she unzipped the bag and set a small assault rifle on the woman's lap, "is Misako. She'll be your partner until you can make a more powerful weapon. Trust me, you'll need her."
Demi: *nods at the names, making mental note before flinching and staring down at the heavy chunk of metal staring her in the face* w.. What am I going to need that for
Tiamat: "You're going to need her for those things," Tiamat answered as she pointed out the random zombies and creatures of the QZ, "Also, when you do your shopping. The guns are mostly held by the gangsters. You'll need to procure it from them. Joseph's not good enough for that. That's where you come in." The car pulled into a parking spot, and the large black man climbed out and moved the driver's seat forward. "I'll explain everything tomorrow. Right now, we're going to get some rest." She waited for Demi to climb out of the car when she remembered something. "Joseph, call her job and tell them Miss Ozera was rushed to the hospital. She was mugged in the garage."
Demi: *stared at the zombies with wide eyes then turned back to the woman with a frown* Why does your mirror make us look like them! What the hell did you do to me?! *she growled and huffed, sinking into the chair as she went silent, muttering to herself under her breath about how people can't just go round poisoning and killing people for fun*

Tiamat: "Well, you'd be a particular vampire called an Allurist. We'll discuss this tomorrow. Right now I need Joseph to get the car cleaned." She patted Demi on the head and carefully climbed over her and slid out of the car as Joe was talking on the phone."

Demi: *frowned and glared at the woman as she was petted* Do I look like some kind of pet to you?! *she sighed, the car was beginning to smell like a nightclub in the early hours of the morning now so she climbed out too and hugged herself gently, bag of money in one hand, assault rifle in the other, holding the weapon like it was going to blow up in her face at any second*

Tiamat: She glanced back at the girl and smiled. "You'll do just fine ," she said as Joe put his phone in his pocket. She pointed at the building in front of them. "Corvidae Flats. We'll be staying here for a little while." Joe unbuttoned his jacket and pulled out a small submachine gun and held it in front of Tia. across the silver body was etched a single word; Discord. "Thank you," Tia said as she took the weapon from the man. "Okay Joseph, off with you. We'll be going inside to rest for a while."

Demi: You should know telling my boss I'm in hospital will make them go visit me. They take good care of their employees there you know *said that smugly and walked inside, if she was being kidnapped and twisted into some zombie.. undead vampire freak thing. Even for 20k, she wouldn't go quietly*

Tiamat: "Considering I told them you weren't seriously hurt, but we were conducting an active investigation. You'll be able to go back tomorrow," Joe quipped as he pushed the seat back before driving the car off. Tia followed the girl and shook her head slowly and laughed. "Yes, Demi, you'll do fine in this life."

Demi: Crap.. *came her reply to the male and her shoulders slumped, at least she'd still be able to work though. Which is good.* Why are you so insistent that I'll do fine?

Tiamat: "Because you have attitude my dear. That will be important to have." She pointed to the elevator. "we'll be going up to the third floor. you can rest there"

Demi: What attitude? *she frowned a bit and ran for the elevator. Still planning her escape, especially now she had 2 years wages in a bag and a loaded gun. Tapping the 'close door' button rapidly over and over, praying the doors would shut before Tia could get to them*

Tiamat: Tia placed her hand on the elevator door as it started to close. "That would be what I'm talking about," she said grinning. She reached over and pushed the button for the third floor. the door closed behind them and moved up. opening again when it reached its destination. "Well, where we're going is straight ahead."

Demi: Fucks sake.. *she muttered under her breath and huffed, shifting her weight from foot to foot whilst watching the number on the elevator counter slowly rising* How long are you going to keep me here?

Tiamat: "When is your next shift at work," She asked. She gently took the girl's hand and started walking to the apartment directly in front of them.
Demi: Tomorrow afternoon, I have a 6 hour shift. *frowns as she was tugged along by her hand, almost dropping the bag full of money*

Tiamat: "Then until about the time you need to head to work. Joseph will drive you if you'd like. You're going to want to get some sleep" She unlocked the door and held it open for Demi to pass through.

Demi: *slipped past the woman into the apartment and rubbed the side of her face, still convinced she was going to wake up with her skin melting off like in the reflection, pulling out her phone to set the alarm to wake her up at 10am, giving her more than enough time to get up, dressed, clean and ready for work at 1pm*

Tiamat: Tiamat entered the apartment, closed the door and went to the freezer to remove a large frozen rat in a plastic bag. She set it on the counter and began boiling a pot of water. she tossed the animal in the water and turned off the stove. She went over to give Demi a quick tour of the small living space.

Demi: *stared at the rat and raised a brow* Uh.. What is that for? I'm not eating THAT.. *she shook her head in defiance and took the brief tour before going back to staring at the cooking pot* And just where do you expect me to sleep?

Tiamat: Tiamat laughed and pointed at the large king cobra in the glass tank. "The rat is Irra." She turned and headed to a small bedroom to the right of the doorway. "You can sleep here tonight. Word of warning though, if you have to work during the day. you're going to get nasty sunburn."

Demi: Well yes I need to work in the day! I have shifts.. how am I supposed to work now?

Tiamat: "Can you not take on the night shifts?" She sat down on the couch and stretched her legs out. "if not, We can certainly find you another place that will allow for night work."

Demi: I'm on a contract that requires me to work at least 2 morning shifts a week lady. *she sighed and rubbed her face before shaking her head and slumped into the nearest seat*

Tiamat: "Well then, we'll just have to renegotiate your contract for you. That shouldn't be an issue." She stood up and walked over to the rat and removed it from the hot water. She collected the massive snake from the tank, which promptly coiled itself around the woman. Tia dangled the rat in front of Irra's face until the snake struck at it and began eating it. "Everything will work out."

Demi: *almost gagged as she watched the snake eat, shaking her head. Demi stood up and went to what had been designated her room* That's all levels of sick

Tiamat: She tilted her head at the girl. "It's far safer than feeding him live. The rats come this way." She untangled herself from the snake and gently placed him back into his habitat. "rest well"
