Phoenix Vs Mortll

Post by Mortll »

Mortll knew she was walking to her death as she sent the text She had already been gut shot shot in the arm and That Fforde guy had gotten her in the back and she was going to meet someone she knew hated her with a passion and could beat her on her best day. One thing you could say about Phoenix she was a beast. Mortl made her way to Jardin the shop looked well. She wasn't going to be seeing it for awhile. She waited patiently for the tall red head to arrive.

The door to the shop opened and a blast of cold air and the flaming red head walked in Mortll didn't hesitate they both knew why they were there and If she was going to have a chance she was going to have to slow the woman down. She cast Rigormortis . She could see the woman twitch and slow "God maybe I might have a chance maybe she thought there was always a bit of hope She screwed up her courage and ran at the woman she twisted in the air and landed in front of her to spray a path of bullets Phoenix ducked behind the wall and Mortll saw her chance she flipped over the wall spraying a path of bullets down wards and caught the tall red head in the shoulder ....
She quickly tried to duck for cover .

It wasn't a matter of anger, it was a matter of principle. The text had been a pleasant surprise, though she had no delusions about how this was about to go down the second she reached Jardin de Fleurs. Maybe Mortll had chosen the shop as her place of death so that Doc wouldn't need to pay for flower delivery. The thought made her smirk. It was cold on the street as made her way to the flower shop, but she'd refused to dress appropriately; winter wear was hardly appropriate for a duel, so she'd instead opted to cloak herself in shadows, surrounding herself in the warm embrace of her weapons. They were good enough company.

No sooner had the doors opened and let the shadows slough off than was she greeted with the chilling ache of rigor mortis. Apparently they weren't about sit down to a chat, and that suited the redhead fine enough. It took her a second to shake off the lingering ache enough to reach uncompliant fingers for the trigger of her beloved Fury. She saw Mortll go for her gun and managed to avoid the first volley with a roll, but ducked just a second too late to avoid the second bullet's arc. She felt the pressure against her shoulder before the pain lanced through her arm, but it didn't stop the roll from carrying her to safety behind a counter.

Cursing under her breath, Phoenix's honey brown eyes narrowed and she retaliated. "Quid pro quo, *****," she hissed under her breath as she let her own powers slide across the ground, sending the chill of death into her adversary's bones. This was a duel; nobody played fair in a duel. Before she had the chance to react, Nix swung Fury around the corner and sent a single, well-placed shot directly at Mortll's head along with another dose of rigor mortis. Shoot. Rigor. Shoot. It was a perfectly effective combo, though for the second two shots, she barely took the time to aim before ducking down behind the counter.

Her eyes closed just long enough to call a sidhe to her aid while she took a moment to take stock of the situation. But the stupid damn fae ignored her. Useless thing. Shaking her head, Nix checked the rounds left in her gun - enough to finish the job; she was sure she'd seen a few bullets find their target.

Mortll didn't have a chance to make it to cover Her body seized and started to twitch and just as she turned to try and fire off a shot the bullets caught her in the face. Pain exploded and seered as blood poured running into her eyes . She tried to lift her gun and another blast of rigor hit her and she felt the bullet rip through her chest. Well this was it Phoenix was relentless as another blast of Rigor hit her there was not much Mortll could do The pain was excruciating . Mortll could hear laughter she did not know if it was in her head or if the woman was actually laughing at her. She knew the woman was probably sizing up her kill shot she braced herself for it . This was not the first time Mortll had died the pain was a ***** it pulsed through her she could feel her heart beating. Then a sudden white light as the bullet struck her in the head and the darkness took her.

She woke up she could see nothing except vague shadows around her. The darkness was oppressive here it closed in around you like a blanket smothering and the more you fought to get loose of them the tighter they tried to swaddle you and keep you bound. Mortll steadied her mind and sent Doc a message This was going to be a long week .

When the final bullet flew through the air, it didn't immediately register that her opponent had actually died. Nix always expected them to get back up and keep on coming, because that was exactly what she did. But when Mortll collapsed, the silence dragged on for seconds that seemed like minutes. Adrenaline rushes were still a thing despite an unbeating heart. Peeking out from behind her cover, Nix eyed the still body suspiciously, but a quick reach of her telepathic abilities confirmed what she already knew to be true.

Deep down, the redhead wasn't surprised, but she'd expected... more. Pushing herself to her feet, Nix smoothed her hand over the bullet hole in her arm, intending to shrug off the pain. But why should she? The slender, pale hand fell away as she stepped out of the flower shop. Yes, the pain was a searing, incessant companion, but this was her burden. The wound would heal on its own; in the mean time she'd treat it like the badge of bloody honor that it was.

Doc was unlikely to be pleased with this...
