--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--This RP takes place on Saturday 31st January 2015.
Skylar:
"Hey Ricky... There`s this thing coming up called Valentine`s Day and couples usually do stuff together to like celebrate their relationship and stuff. And well... I was kinda thinking that maybe we could go on a camping weekend or something. I`ve kinda got access to a cabin in Pine Acres. And was thinking that maybe we could go hunting and just relax and stuff. What do you think?"
Ric:
"You want to go hunting? I stare at her in disbelief.
Skylar:
“Well no. Not exactly. But I don't have to hunt. You can hunt and I can like… tag along?”
I shrug.
“I mean I guess you could teach me the basics. It’s just… sometimes in relationships you do things not because you want to, but because you know it’s important to the other person and well… You like to hunt? Right?”
Ric:
I nod my head. "Yeah. But I don't think we need to celebrate Valentine's day, right? Everyone else does. It seems, what's the word-cliche." I look at her because I think this is something that might make her mad and while I'm not trying to make her mad, she brought it up for a reason. "Can we just say we're going hunting and not make it a thing?"
Skylar:
I shrug my shoulder. I’ve never been one for celebrating Valentine’s Day, mainly since I never seem to actually have a guy at that time of year for whatever reason, so it’s all kind of the same to me.
“Sure. Honestly. I was considering just asking you to come to the cabin and not telling you why I wanted to go on that weekend. I’ve never really done the whole Valentine’s thing myself. I usually end up… Well…”
My voice trails off and I get a little quiet.
“With Dillon.”
Ric:
She says Dillon quietly. I'm not jealous of the guy, but he needs to learn his place. He's nothing more than a tool; a servant of hers in my mind. I'm sure Sky doesn't think of it like that, but it's a fact for me. "We can go. Give Dillon the night off. Or whatever. I know the significance of the day, just so you know." I tell her.
Skylar:
“The night? You’d be lucky.”
I laugh briefly.
“I was thinking more like we go on after sunset on Friday 13th and we come back on Monday 16th. Like before dawn. So technically it’s still kinda Sunday. But yeah. You know. A nice hunting trip.”
Ric:
"Sure. Whatever." I shrug my shoulders, then run a hand upwards at the back of my head as I remembered something. "The weekend before. Nix is marrying Blake. Or something like it. I want you to come with. I promised I would go."
Skylar:
“Oh wow. They’re getting married? That’s kinda… I dunno.”
I give a small shrug.
“Cool I guess. If you believe in that sort of thing. I guess we should get them a present. You tell me what you want to get them and I’ll do the actual shopping and purchasing part. ‘Kay?”
I kiss Ric once on each cheek cos she seems nervous for some reason.
“And I’m surprised you know the significance of Valentine’s Day. I’d of thought the concept was lost on you, seeing as how you don’t date and all.”
Ric:
"We had to give stupid cards or whatever those things were in grade school. Key word: stupid. Waste of paper and time." I nod my head. "Had to give everyone one, even if you didn't like them or want to give them one. School rules." I tell her. "And yeah. I don't know. I looked up hand fasting online and it's sort of being married, but not. Legally." I shrug. I have no opinion about it anymore. I don't gossip and I said my piece of mind to Nix before I said I wouldn't talk about it anymore after that night. "And I don't know. Get them something that makes them feel good and inflates ego's or whatever. They both sit on crownet and stroke the others. It's disgusting."
Skylar:
I laugh. I probably shouldn’t but I do.
“You’re too cute. Really. I have no idea what you mean by stroking each other’s egos, but I’m going to guess they’re doing the sickly, sweet couply thing people do. And yeah. You wouldn’t get that. So… You’re good for going hunting over that particular weekend? Cos, I’m good to go on the wedding front. Just let me know which day and the time so I can rearrange stuff with the guys if we have like rehearsal or something.”
Ric:
"Yeah, yeah." I tell her with a shrug and a wave of my right hand in the air before it hits my upper thigh. "Don't make hunting a big deal. It's not." I remind her. "I hunt all the time. We should get you some proper gear though." I nod, thinking about it for a second. "And sickly is an understatement. People normally do that?" I stare at her, already knowing the answer. Look how she is at me sometimes. She likes to cuddle, but I half *** it by letting her lay on me and referring to it as cuddling. I wonder why she always wants to be in my space. Is she like this with Dillon and her other friends? I should follow her some night to see. I make a mental note to do so.
Skylar:
“Cool. It’s a date.”
I wink at him as I say it. I don’t much care what we call the weekend. The point for me was to spend Valentine’s with him and if that was happening I didn’t much care what we called it.
“So… this wedding. Do we have a dress code?”
Ric:
"Formal." I say, though I'm not sure. Knowing Nix though, it would be formal. "A few people from Tytonidae will be there. If that matters." I'm gauging her opinion on that because of Elliot.
Skylar:
“Why would that matter? I mean aside from anything else… It ain’t my wedding.”
By which I mean I don’t control the guest list. It’s not like I care who is and isn’t going. I’d met some of his family and faction mates over Christmas and they all seemed cool to me. With the exception of Doc maybe who seemed to make us, or rather me, his personal pet project at times. Seriously the guy was more fatherly than Elliot when it came to dolling out the advice.
Ric:
"I'm just stating a fact." I tell her with another shrug. "Anyways, you'll get them a gift, right? Maybe one of those things. That Blake liked at Christmas." I grin just a little bit.
Skylar:
“A sex toy?”
I backhand Ric on his chest.
“You saucy thing you.”
I laugh and give it some thought. Edible body paint would be fun for them if they were allurists, but then I have no idea what path they both are.
“What type of vampires are they? Are they like me? Allurists? Can they eat and drink and stuff?”
Ric:
"Nix is a shadow." I say before staring at her. Saucy? I just wanted them to be mortified or embarrassed. "I don't think Blake can eat. Never saw him eat anything before."
