Parting The Veil: An Impact Thread Idea

So... I had a random *** idea the other day and, after batting it around a bit with some people thought a thread here to gauge interest and further the idea might be good, so here goes...

As we know, Harper Rock is the only known safe place for vampires to live and die without too much worry, but where does that safety end and how big a population can it support? That's where this RP would come in. The idea is that a number of vampires would set themselves to the task of widening the tear in the veil between the living world and the shadow realm, thus increasing the safe zone available to vampires in which to roam and allowing a bigger population to be readily supported.

Quite how this would be done is still a little up in the air. Mass zombie/mooncalf/fade beast summoning, hauling wraith after wraith across the divide, repeated performanvery of rituals that affect the 'other side'... human sacrifice. Really, whatever works.

What we would like to know is who, if anybodynamic, might be interested in joining in on a thread like this and any ideas about what might act as a catalyst to make it happen, and the mechanics of doing it. Cobb may have managed on his own but he has 200 years to do it and we... don't. At least not as writers, anyway.

Thoughts?

You know... I was thinking about this this morning after I had a little sleep. I think I remember you said something about how the only char you have that could pull something like this off was a char that you didn't know if he even would. So I was thinking, what if he didn't mean too... what if it was a side effect of doing something else? (My Random *** idea for the day)

Also, either way, I know that I would like to add Ursa to the mix because ripping the veil a new one sounds like something right up her evil alley lol.

Side thought:

Can there be a bigger plot to this? As in two different teams? Just a random thought. You know, if anyone on an oppositional side got wind of this. I don't think any of mine would be against widening the veil, but maybe a group of paladins or the like would be?

Actually, Vel would likely be against this. =P Widening the veil means more monsters coming through which means more army and human investigations and all those things she would like to avoid.

Habs, as you know, is in. :) Her reasoning (as of now, just thoughts kicking around) would likely be that the the population concentration of vampires in HR is becoming too heavy and before long, they're going to draw even more attention to themselves. Even with secrecy and the Masq, there are vampires who sabotage it enough to cause plenty of governmental activity and there are already new monsters bleeding through (Cavern and the .... mansion? I don't remember. :P ) If there was another safe place, a small outpost-type settlement/town for vampires to populate somewhere out in the wilderness, she would find that ideal.

ETA: As far as mechanics, I'm thinking rituals on the edges of the city proper, several that are used for protection, being cast at once.
