Aiding ((Leigh))

Post by CharlotteC »

Charlie sat in the HRU Sports Bar, one elbow on the table, hand bent, chin resting in her hand, eyes 'gazing' at one of the many TVs that were in there, 'watching' Rugby as she waited for her food. Really though she was once again hacking into the random systems, and this was a good place to do it. There were tons of people for one, but the main draw was the fact that it was so close to the school that should she get caught, they would think that the hacker was in the school itself not in the bar where so many people would notice someone using a laptop. Only, Charlie wasn't using a laptop. That made her smirk ever so slightly, there were definite perks to being able to log into the internet through one's mind. Best use of energy - EVER -.

All around, people were coming, going, coming again. Guys - and some girls - were screaming at the various TV's, cheering, chanting, cursing, crying... all because this team or that team was winning, or losing or playing what is basically tennis with the scoreboard. This team scores, that team scores... Charlie really couldn't give a ****, but then at the same time, she couldn't knock the food in this place. She loved the food here, actually she loved the food everywhere in this city. She was wondering if all the chefs in the various restaurants around the city were all vampires. That being the undead was really giving them a head above the rest when it came to cooking food.

As she thought about this, her food that she had ordered came to her. A cheeseburger so greasy it could be rung out like a sponge and Poutine and to top it off an Ice cold beer - that she would never get a buzz from, not that beer was known for giving her a buzz anyways. Still, the arrival of her food had her shifting from her bored look to one of more attention, sitting up straight, elbows off the table - despite everyone else in the room - and her eyes on the food, well mostly on her food, she also kept an eye out for trouble as well.

Leigh had been spending a lot of time to herself lately. Not that it mattered much but it was how things happened. Luckily with the money she was making she was more than able to go out all the time for food. At least if she went to a bar or something she could find someone to talk to and if she didn’t it was okay too because lonely people seemed to flock to bars.

She found herself walking into a sports bar this evening. Theses were better than most because she could at least pay attention to one of the tv’s and maybe even learn a thing or two about sports while she was at it. Safest bet was to just cheer for who ever had the most fans in there that night.

Most of the time it was also a better bet to sit at the bar if you wanted to be able to hear who you were talking to and if you wanted to get your food and drinks relatively fast. She was lucky enough to find an empty bar stool tonight. She hung her bag from her knee after she climbed onto the stool. She was handed a menus and asked what she wanted after a moment of two. Leigh looked around for a moment at the woman who was just a few seats away and pointed at her burger “I’ll have that and just give me a cider to drink.” She showed her ID as she said so, knowing she would be asked.

Charlie, as always was famished when it came to actually eating food. When she wasn't eating she never noticed it, the drive to eat - that rumble in her belly - was never there. In fact Rhett often ended up making something for her after she had gone a few days without eating. In this case, he had been about a week since she had had anything other than her usually blood meal. So the moment that the scent hit her, she was starving and picked up the burger, lifting it to her mouth and taking a big bite. It tasted so good and she closed her eyes and nearly moaned out it was so good.

She was sure that the she would end up looking like a slob at one point during the meal or calling a little attention to her if she did moan - because, let's face it, a woman moaning is bound to get attention, but add to that her natural alluring nature and well... she smirked at her thought and took a sip of her beer before a girl's voice caught her attention. Asking for the same thing that she herself had, or at least, for the burger part of things. Charlie smiled a bit at the girl after she had made sure to swallow and that her teeth were clean of any sort of things that could get caught in her teeth.

Charlie continued to watch the young vampire. Though Charlie herself was no old soul in this city, she could spot a new one pretty well now. Especially after being one herself. For a moment she just watched her, then she concentrated on the girl, and hoped that her inspiring nature didn't bounce off the girl. Sometimes, she had noticed, that happened. Usually because someone else had also done such a thing. Then she Charlie placed her burger down in the basket of Poutine and picked it up along with her beer before making her way over to the table where the girl was sitting. "Heya! Mind if I join you?!" She asked happily, hoping that the girl wouldn't mind a bit of company.

Leigh could feel eyes on her for a moment. It was something that kept happening alarmingly more frequent lately. She chalked it up to the whole being a vampire thing. The only other possible thing was she had somehow gotten a tattoo on her face, grown wings, a horn, or something else rather odd. She was growing use to ignoring it now a days. Most of the time it was males but as she glanced around she did spot a female this time.

After a moment the other woman gets up and makes her way over and asked to join. She smiles up at her “Go right ahead. It’s nice to have someone to talk to.” She then turns as she is brought her cider. “Thank you.” She said as she took a sip and turned back to her new guest.

“I hope that’s good because that’s what I ordered too.” She chuckled as she nodded to the other woman’s food. “I’m Leigh by the way.”

Charlie smiled brightly at the girl and hopped into one of the free chairs, setting her beer and food down. "That it is, plus girls in pairs are less likely to be hassled by beer and testosterone fueled men." She said with a teasing tone as she glanced around at all of the men in the sports bar. Her eyes shifted over to one of the TVs where one of the teams was just getting hammered into the ground like a nail, the score a whopping twenty to zip. Then the girl got her attention again, asking if the burger was good. That made her smile a bit more as she broke off a piece and offered the bit sized piece to her. "I think it is. There's nothing quite like a greasy burger."

She didn't know if the girl would take to offered bit of burger, but as she waited for the girl to decide she added in "I'm Charlotte, but I prefer to go by Charlie. Nothing quite confuses people more than seeing a name that is normally associated with males in an e-mail then finding out the author of said e-mail is a woman." She said with a little bit of a laugh and used her free hand to pick up a cheese and gravy covered french fry, taking a bite out of it. Once she was sure she wouldn't be talking with her mouth full, she continued, "So I get the feeling you are new here. Am I correct?" She asked, of course she wasn't totally talking about just the sports bar.

The girl reminded her so much of her self only a short year ago. She wondered if Leigh had the same thing happen to her that she herself had had happen. Of course, she'd have to get the girl to answer her first. And she hoped that the fact that she didn't just come right out and say 'Hey I know your a vampire, I'm one too' would hint that they should be careful how they word things. Charlie was pretty much against the masquerade, pretty much hated everything about how things were handled if you broke one of the rules, but she wasn't about to get a fledgeling in trouble just for her own thoughts on the matter. She wasn't he-who-must-not-be-named.
