Stretched out on the rocks behind Watchtowers near the riverbank, her favorite and preferred spot to do her thinking, Monique sorted through her thoughts. It was hard to believe that she had been turned nearly three years ago, give or take a couple months, the blond haired vampire decided as the cool night air settled around her. A rollercoaster ride full of twists, turns, climbs and drops was perhaps the best suited analogy for it all. Her engagement and bonding with Calix was the pinnacle. She was sincerely looking forward to renewing their vows and a larger wedding than the last to be attended by their family. Their family - the mere thought of it brought a smile to her lips. It was a wonderful feeling to be a part of something so wonderful. Though if anyone had told the allurist two years ago that she'd be having these thoughts now, she would have called them insane at the very least.
It was these very thoughts that plagued the woman recently. A decision had been made. Though she knew in her heart of hearts that it was for the best. That the wheels of this very choice had been set in that fateful day in House Grigori that her husband had drawn her into his lap after the others had gone. The attraction had been instant and though she had denied him his request, it has started the slow dance that had brought them to this point. The wait and experience had been well worth it in the end.
It's time, the soft voice inside her nagged. By way of reply, the blond slid off the rock, brushing the stray dirt from her black skirt, before picking up her bag. Tentatively, she stretched her mind out, tapping in to the ever present connection to Crownet and her email. Accessing the email program, she sent the Altaire matriarch a short text requesting to talk to her and indicating she was on her way to the apartment now. Knowing the woman would reply if it was inconvenient, she submitted the message and began her walk over to the Bullwood transit.
A quick trip to Wicksbridge and a dash down the block brought her to the front door of the massive apartment building. She hadn’t received a reply, but again she wasn’t expecting one. If the woman wasn’t around, she’d simply wait and see who arrived. Jabbing the call button for the elevator, she fidgeted slightly, impatience and nerves starting to catch up with her. She growled softly at the crowd of humans dressed up for a night of clubbing, giggling and laughing, getting off the elevator taking their sweet time. Finally inside the steel box, she pressed the correct floor, leaning back against the cool metal as the car lurched upwards. All too soon the doors slid open and the allurist slipped past them down the hall to the correct apartment. Knocking on the door, she waited a moment before letting herself in. “Phoenix?” she called out gently as she wandered over to her usual spot, curling up on the couch to wait.

Re: Birds of a Feather [Nix]
Having her email and phone wired directly to her brain was still new to her, but not wholly unpleasant. When the text came in, instead of her phone vibrating, she was suddenly aware of the presence of the message on her device. Even though she could easily respond to the message without lifting a finger, Nix still felt more comfortable doing some sort of physicality when it came to text messages. So she plucked her phone off the bedside table and typed out a reply to Monique.
"I'll be there in a second, give a shout when you get in!"
Message sent, Nix peeled herself off the bed and shrugged out of the ugly purple robe Blake hated so damn much. She hadn't purchased the thing for style, but comfort, and yet he still would have set it aflame in a heartbeat if she'd let him. A simple pair of harem pants were pulled on and paired with gladiator sandals; the white t-shirt she'd tugged on for bumming around the Citadel would do. Monique was stylish, true, but she doubted the woman would scold her for her lack of fashion sense during a chat in her own home. Cell phone in hand, and curiosity in check, Nix was ready to bounce.
The redhead arrived at 601 only moments later with the aid of some supernatural energy. "Nique?" she called out upon opening the door. When no answer came, she slipped into the bathroom, taking stock of what plants had sprouted in her hydroponics. Far too many - far more than she thought she'd ever use, but the plants kept growing and she wasn't about to complain. Someone eventually bought the weeds.
It didn't take long for the apartment door to open again - somehow, she managed to hear the sound of the hinges over her rummaging, but not the knocks. A presence slipped inside, but many people had keys to the place, so she didn't automatically assume it was Monique. Not until the woman's voice called her name. With a smile on her lips, the redhead popped her head out of the bathroom.
"Hey Nique!" she greeted the woman, brushing a bit of dirt off her hands as she made her way over to flop onto the opposite couch. "What's going on?" Curios as a kitten, Nix had never been one to wait for small talk.
