What creeps around the corner? (Open)

Post by Alston Hughes (DELETED 4923) »

Wandering around aimlessly Alston found the town he was turned in, to be a bore. Looking at the naked trees his hazel eyes watched as a bright orange leaf fell into a pile below. Listening to the wind he closed his eyes and smiled. It was his favorite time of the year, sipping apple cider, watching football on the television and of course the only Holiday where being called a freak was normal.

Opening his eyes he walked back to his sire shop and posted a invitation he knew he couldn't have his normal beer or cider but he still wanted to have fun! When he pressed sent he left and went to a Halloween store. He knew exactly what he wanted to be this year. Moving around everyone he picked up a Red Jester costume, payed for it then left. Rushing home he put the costume on then sat and waited for his sire to walk in, trying not to laugh he knew tonight was going to be fun.

Once Alexandrea had found a pair of shoes that matched each other and her outfit she checked on how she looked with her webcam and nodded, satisfied. Scant makeup and no jewelry other then the long chain with the ring of her mortal father's, some would have said she was under dressed for Halloween mischief the Blonde preferred keeping things simple and comfortable. And this dress was different; she had made it herself and was anxious to show it off. Too many other details would distract.

Straps in various widths crisscrossed her back in a way that was suggestive of a spider's web and it clung to her body like a second skin until several inches below her hips where it flared out in a full circle skirt with a uneven hem. The under dress was deep forest green silk with an overdress made up entirely of Japanese seed beads in black, silver and several shades of green. She had piled her long blond hair up into a Grace Kelly style and studded it with tiny sliver bats that had emerald eyes. The mask was waiting for her downstairs and Alex went down to collect it and finish getting ready to go out.

The sight of Alston waiting for her in the living room made the Allurist laugh out loud and she fought down giggles as she hugged the young man. "You didn't think I wouldn't know my own childe when I saw him, did you? So what have you got planned for the evening?"

His plan was foiled! Though she couldn't see it, he was pouting heavily. Taking the mask off he smiled at her. "I thought we could go to the bars, or pubs. Whatever you call it around here. And perhaps scare people." He grinned mischievously. Looking at her dress he approved of it silently, liking how she looked he wished he was as creative as her. Even though he wished that, he still liked his costume, he thought it was the right amount of spooky for this evening.

Brushing himself off he stood and gave her a proper hug then moved to the side. "Are you ready? Or do you need more time?" He didn't want to come off rude he was just eager to go out and see the festivities. Mentally checking himself he made sure he had his wallet. He couldn't buy anything if he didn't.

Halloween was just around the corner. There were signs and posters across the city advertising parties and contests throughout the cities myriad businesses. Even his employees seemed to be getting into the mood, wearing much more makeup then they usually did, coming in in weird outfits, and funky hair-do. As long as they did their jobs, and there were no complaints from customers and suppliers, the massive killer really didn't care what they did. To be honest, the day that Natasha, Celeste, and Violet came in dressed as, what did they call it, ahhh yes, Pirate Wenches, sales had actually gone up. That he could understand though, it looked like they had played dress-up in DD's work closet... Today, Felicia was dressed as a French mime, and from the whispers his preternatural hearing had overheard tomorrow all five, even the normally staid Eva, were going to dress up as someone named... Daisy Duke? Apparently someone from an old television show that had a penchant for exposing large amounts of long svelte legs. The male shook his head, a slight grin of amusement on his face.

The grin grew a bit as he realized that he was exhibiting the signs of amusement, a definite improvement. A few steps further down the path that he had embarked on. It seemed as tho expanding his social engagements had actually made a difference. This could be a chance to continue the path. He would go to a party. One of the ones scheduled for late evening. More chance of less humans, although to be honest, this was one of the few times that the brobdingnagian male could wander the streets mouth open and fangs exposed, and humans would just smile and wave. To do this properly though, he knew tradition called for a costume. Leaning back in the colossal leather executive chair he slowly spun it as he closed his eyes, accessing the webz technokinetically. ''Hmmmm, Google, Halloween costumes, male, images'' muttering under his breath he tracked his way into a massive gallery and scrolled through the pictures. Suddenly a slight muscle twitch quirked the corner of his mouth. Opening his eyes, the killer walked from his office and crossed through midnight armaments' showroom. One he was outside, a quick glance showed he was alone. A surge of anima went though his body, and he was gone, faster than a human eye could follow. A short stop at a second-hand shop, another surge of anima and he was back in his office.

Shedding the black silk shirt and leathers, he pulled on the frayed denim pants he had just purchased. The cuffs would not fit over his muscular calves, until a few slashes from his Fairbairn-Sykes opened them up. Standing he drew them up and fastened them with a belt made of rope. Looking down he saw they were perfect, they looked like the pants that kennedy called 'capris'. A black T-shirt, and an old battered brown tweed coat finished the look. Turning to the vault at the back of his office, he laid his hand over the palm reader, than lowered his eye to the iris scan. Seconds later the sounds of bolts retracting and a hermetic seal breaking announced it was open. Slipping inside Mordechai rummaged thru a drawer in a side cabinet, finally coming out with a small green jar. Returning to his desk, he scooped a small dab from the jar and began to smear the green grease based camo paint across the muscles of his massive neck, than up and over his face, edging into his hairline. Once he completed the painting, he reached into the small bag on his desk and removed the last piece. Two bolt heads connected with a spring wire. Slipping it around his neck, he decided it was time to test it.

Walking to the door of his office, Mordechai turned off the lights and placed his hand on the knob, inhaling deeply. Stepping through the door, into the showroom, the seven-foot, three hundred pound killer raised his arms before himself, and slamming the heel of his NewRocks hard against the floor let out a roar. The screams of fear echoing from all corners, let him know the costume was a success.

''At ease folks, back to work girls, isn't Halloween fun?''

Without waiting for an answer he headed for the door, blasting a telepathic message out to kennedy, ''Find a costume hun, I am going looking for a Halloween Party. I will send you details when i find a likely candidate.'' Walking outside, he swung a leg over his Judge, and headed out on the city.

Kennedy had fun dressing up for work but she needed to get a costume for the upcoming parties. She was sure that she would probably go alone or she would have a wonderful harpy eagle following her to ensure that other men didn't get the wrong idea or advance her when she clearly showed that she wasn't interested. Even though Mordechai wasn't much of a people person and seemed to dislike social events, she was always glad that he was near by as he clearly watched over her to make sure that she was safe. She loved him and even though she was unsure if he felt the same to her or at least on the same level, it didn't matter to her as she knew where she belonged and it was with him. At times, she recognized how sad and needy that sounded in her head but their bond was one that couldn't really be explained even if one was to try. Labels were just what society needed to know the status of each person or couple but to them...labels were unneeded. Had she thought about marriage? Sure what girl hadn't and yes she had a dress hidden in her house on Sparrow, tucked safely in it's garment bag in the back of the closet. Neither of them ever went to the house so she knew it was safe and it was a dress that she had purchased before she even thought to visit Harper Rock in search of CC. No, Mordechai had been a blessing in what seemed to be such a dark world that she had woken up in.

Combing the racks of one of the many cheesy halloween stores trying to find the perfect costume, she was starting to feel that the perfect costume didn't exist...at least this year anyway. Rolling her eyes at the pathetic attempted costumes others put together to be remotely scary, made her wish that she could pull off dressing as one of the beasts she killed on a daily basis but then again...that would violate their secrecy. Looking around the store as she stopped, she scoffed and left the store. Forget the perfect costume...she needed sexy. Sexy was what she was good at and so that was what she aimed for. Quickly, she left the store and went to the area of town where she once purchased her outfits when she danced at Silks. Smiling as she walked around, the store was perfectly set for halloween.

Rack after rack, she picked out a few different costumes. Gangster, sailor, devil, etc. There was so much to choose from and she was in shopping heaven. Once her arms were full, she made her way to the dressing room. Each outfit was amazing and the choice was hard but she had to pick one. Her final outfit was a sexy cop. Putting on the fitted tube bodice with boy-leg bottoms, she twisted about to make sure it was snug to her body like a second skin. Smirking as she slipped on the sheer sleeve and shoulder strug with leather-looking straps, fastening it around her bustline. After a few moments, she was fully dressed. She was instantly sold. Kennedy put the gangster outfit off to the side as she was taking that one home too. As she went to take the outfit off, Mordechai's voice floated through her mind. A chuckle slipped from her as his timing couldn't have been more perfect. Stepping out of the dressing room, still in the costume, she sauntered up to the counter.

"I would like both of these costumes. I will be wearing this one out as I have a party to get to."

The clerk could barely take his eyes off of her until she reached out and tapped the top of the register. The clerk nodded his head and began to do his job. Once he was finished and she paid, she let her power rush through her and she sprinted across town in the blink of an eye until she reach Veil Tower. Rushing up to the apartment, she put the other costume in the closet and dumped off her clothes she had been wearing into the dirty clothes hamper. Pulling out her phone, her fingers quickly tapped across the screen before pressing send, waiting for his reply with the details.

"Ready when you are, Babe."

Alexandrea donned her mask and linked arms with Alston. "I died ready." The blonde chuckled at her own joke as she led the way out of the house at Willow Court, locking it up behind them.

"I feel like taking a joy ride, feeling brave?"

She gave her chide a wink before sneaking down the street a few houses and 'borrowing' the car from a couple she knew were out of town. Alex only ran over two mailboxes on her way back to where she had left Alston and only gunned the engine once. Feeling quite proud of herself, the blonde parked the convertible and put the top down.

"Come on, get in. You aren't scared are you?"

The mask that completed her costume was to die for, he smiled brightly then canted his head to the side. Ride? Were they going to fly on broomsticks? As she left he stood there looking around, when he heard a loud thud like something was being hit, then another. Standing patiently he watched a car come around the corner.

Thinking it couldn't be that bad he got in on the other side."Off we go?" He smiled nervously. Buckling himself in he said a silent prayer and looked out the window waiting for her to take off.

Costume on, the massive killer cruised through town eyeing up bars and signs, looking for the party that he and kennedy would meet at. As he rode the city streets, his Judge rumbling beneath him, Mordechai considered how much easier life would be if every day was Halloween. Old clothes and some green face-paint... and he drove through the city garnering no bad attention. Humans stared and pointed, but it was with a smile and sparkly eyes, not the fear his size and demeanor usually brought forth from them. This time of year, they accepted almost anything as normal.

A vibration in his pocket alerted him to an incoming text, and he quickly accessed it with his mind. Kennedy was ready, for a moment he thought about her, and wondered what costume she had found. A small grin tugged the corner of his lips, some surprises were worth waiting for. Mordechai passed the Harper Country Pub, contemplating the crowd outside then door, he continued on by. Slowing as he passed Willow Court, to head south into Bullwood, his ears picked up the sounds of smashing metal. Rolling to a quick stop and looking for the source, he wondered if some fool vamps were fighting in a residential area. Suddenly a damaged car swung out of the gates carrying two costumed individuals. Reaching out with his mind, he gently touched theirs, checking their memories to find out if they saw something inside Willow. A low chuckle escaped him as he swung his bike around and followed. It was Alex, and she had already destroyed two mailboxes. This night could get interesting. Speaking into kennedy's mind, he smiled ''should have a location soon, following Alex, the woman I raid with. She is with another, both costumed''

Finding a pair of aviator glasses in her jewelry box. They were the perfect touch to finish off her costume. A bright giggle slipped from her as she bounced around the bedroom. She was all set and just needed the location. Her goal was to steal his attention away from any distractions. They hadn't spent much time with each other lately but she was going to make sure that this night wouldn't be one that he could easily forget should they go another few weeks apart from each other. Halloween wasn't necessarily about horror and scare, it was about dressing up in any type of costume and simply have fun. Fun was exactly what she was looking to have.

Putting up a few decorations around the house to make it a little more festive, she waited for him to contact her. She was patient but waiting wasn't always her best talent so the decorations were a distraction for her until his voice slipped through her mind. Kennedy wasn't sure how long she had been decorating but she knew it wasn't long. She was still getting used to her celerity power but it was useful. Pouring the candy out into the final bowl for the trick-o-treaters, she smirked as his voice rang through. Perfect timing on his part.

Picking up her phone that was setting next to one of the many bowls of candy that would sustain a family of five for the next fifty years in a bomb shelter, she quickly set off a text. 'Sounds great. Look forward to hearing from you.' Putting her phone into the top of her boot until she could meet up with him and put it in his pocket, she left the apartment. Kennedy had gathered some looks and stares as she entered the lobby from the living room from the clientele of the various shops that were on the ground floor of Veil Towers. The women looked at her with disgust as their husbands or lovers looked at her with intrigue and desire but she didn't give them one thought nor did she even notice their passing glances. She was Mordechai's and he was hers...that was all that mattered. Stepping out of Veil Towers, a woman shoved past her while muttering to herself. Kennedy knew how she looked but didn't care, she was comfortable and looked damn good. Turning around to see the woman glaring back at her, she flipped off the woman and smirked. "You just wish you looked as good as I do." Cackling to herself as she turned back around and continued down the street to the transit station.

In the passenger seat of the car he felt a panic attack slowly rising as he watched how his sire drove. Looking for a distraction he looked in the side mirror, or rather what was left of it to see someone was following them. "Who is that?" He asked still watching the male.

Driving down the road he had seen a flyer floating around and recalled seeing something about a Halloween party at a local bar. Seeing how many flyers were around the city he made a judgement and looked back to his sire. "Lets go to that bar." Pointing to a bright red advertisement that was littering the streets. "Seems that is the place to be." He grinned with excitement.
