--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
Saige: Saige had always been afraid of the dark. Ever since she was a little girl, she had this fear of darkness. Not irrational, or to the point where it ever stopped her from doing things, but she did have the fear. Tonight was no different as she stuck to the street lamp lit sidewalks, not straying too close to homeless people sprawled on the sidewalk with cups and cans held out. She used to help them, used to drop coins in those cups and such, but not since her turning, for obvious reasons. She sighed then, remembering that night, remembering Juliet saving her. The sire she felt she hardly got to know, and that saddened her. She knew where Juliet was, now. The Realm of Shadows. She had day after day used her powers to spy on her sire, and day after day it hadnt changed.
Saige: Dark, dismal, depressing. She sighed. No, people didnt go there for a vacation. Not like she had thought, like Mexico. She idly wondered why she allowed herself to think that for so long, until it had bothered her so much that she finally had forced herself to come to the harsh realization that she wasnt going to see her sire again. Flats hit the sidewalk as she walked along, her hand in her purse and fishing out her phone. She typed in a text and flipped through her contacts, finding Roderic and hitting send. [T] Hey Ric? Do you think we could meet up and talk for a while?
Roderic: Find something to do with the parts, she said. Which one said it though? Was it even the real Pyper? What if it was a fake? He couldn't take the chance, so Ric went around stabbing every Pyper he saw. One vanished after giving him a nice sting after he had thrust a sword in to her heart. "Hate fakes." This was nothing new for the shadow. He had attacked Nix's fake a couple of times, and now here he was attacking Pyper's fakes. And getting a bit of backlash from attacking the fakes. They had a bit more life to them then dopple did. His phone went off, some plain tone that came with the phone that told him someone was texting him. Ric grabbed his phone from his jeans, looked at the message, then looked around. Making sure no one was around. He propped his sword up against a wall, then let his left shoulder rest against he same wall as he replied to the text. Sure. I'm in the QZ. But can meet you anywhere. What's good for you, Saige? He hit send, grabbed the sword, put it in the carrier behind his back and waited for her reply, as his eyes scanned the area for more pretend Pypers.
Saige: She crossed the street, finally coming up on the brightly lit cafe that seemed to be open for twenty four hours a day. Saige was thankful for it, for the fact that it was a beacon of light finally in the dark night that she had been walking through. She usually didnt walk around in the night. Usually she just teleported, but today she had teleported to a couple of other places first and found that she couldnt use any of her powers that required a large amount of majycs, as she called it. The juice that the powers took from her, she could feel that she had reached her limit of the expended amount today. So here she was, walking through Harper Rock. Her phone rang back. And we are, we are, we are, we are, we are the crazy kids, them crazy, them crazy kids... She giggled lightly at her phone as she slid into the cafe behind a taller more burlesque woman who sulked off to the back of the establishment and around a corner. She frowned. She didnt want to go to the QZ if she didnt have to. [T] Im in the cafe over looking the river, just east of westwall. Does that work for you?
Roderic: There was movement to the left of him, so his head turned in that direction. When he saw it was a zombie and not a Pyper, he moved on, making sure the area was cleared. Nothing but people he didn't know, zombies and other ugly things he's taken bones from. His phone went off again, that same tone and he looked at the message. A cafe. A public place. He didn't particularly like going in to public places that might be crowded, but for Saige, he'd do it. Juliet did tell him to keep an eye on her. Sure. Meet you there in ten. He replied before heading to his apartment, grabbed a new shirt, yanked the old one off and replaced it with a gray tank. He opted for the jean to stay, they were dirty, but black. Black hid things better than a white tank. He left, giving Simone a nod of acknowledgement as he spotted her on his couch, then headed back down to the main floor, to the river, crossed it and headed west to the cafe. Ric stayed outside for three minutes, mostly to watch the interactions of people inside, then walked in, looking for Saige.
Saige: She shuffled to find a seat, pulling the purse from her shoulder that Simone had made for her and setting it to the bench beside her before sliding in to take a seat next to it. She plucked her lap top from her bag, and opened it, settling it square on the table in front of her as it booted itself up. The jet black background was suddenly filled with a barrage of images from her life; one of her and nix, another of her and Velia. Plenty of Care-Bear, and a few of Saki and Zahara. She mentally made a note to get a picture with Ric while they were together for her montage on her computer everytime she booted it up. She clicked through her emails rather slowly, reading each one carefully as she then set her fingers to the keyboard and quickly and efficiently typed replies. Words like 'election', 'candidate', 'convention' and 'front-runner' were typed, forming documents to be sent out to those who were emailing her regarding the upcoming election. She immersed in this for a moment, until she heard the door open and she looked up to see Mr. Ric. "Mr. Ric!" She waved him over, glancing back to the computer to click save and shut it delicately.
Roderic: He heads to the voice, not even seeing who it was, as Ric looks to see if he notices anyone else. No one he had ever come across called him Mr. Ric. That was something Saige did, even though he was always telling her his name was just Ric. It wouldn't ever change, so Ric learned to accept it, like most things with the women in Altaire. All of them were set in their way. "Hey Saige." He notices her closing the computer, safeguarding her secrets. He wouldn't ask what she was doing, everyone was entitled to their secrets, unless he really wanted to find them out. But Saige could keep her secrets; he doubted she was up to anything. Anything that would hinder him any. "Been a while." He sits across from her as he says that, then sits back in the chair. "You alright? How's Rice?"
Saige: Saige almost got up to hug him, but he was too quick to take a seat and she simply just smiled at him as she clasped her hands together overtop of her computer. "It has been a while, hasnt it?" Her memories flashed back to him stabbing the human in the throat of the male from the apartment beside the altaire's community home. She frowned, but only for a second before she remembered how that night had slowly progressed and how much she had actually learned of her altaire uncle. And slowly, she grinned. "I am! Of course I am. I'm not one for trouble, you know." She giggled and shook her head a little, "He is alright, Im positive he is going to live forever just like me." She winked, joking of course. She then bit on her lower lip, glancing down at her hands as she clasped them together a bit tighter. "Im never going to see Juliet again, am I?" The question came out soft and almost unheard as she spoke it down at the table rather than up at Roderic.
Roderic: Roderic nodded his head. Saige in any kind of trouble seemed unlikely, but one never knew. "Good." He said, glad to hear things were alright for the unusually peppy vampire. Although, Nic came across as peppy too, so maybe it was just him. Either way, he didn't care to spend a lot of time thinking on it. At the mention of Jules, Ric stared at her, more so in her eyes. "Probably not."
Saige: She sighed, shaking her head as her long blonde hair brushed against her shoulders. "And all this time I thought she was on vacation." She frowned, clearly it made her sad to think about, but at the same time she was glad that she was starting to understand the full picture. It seemed like she was always trying to just cover up the truth with happy thoughts, when she could just accept the truth and find happiness in it itself. "Just wish I had gotten to say goodbye." She couldnt help it, it was the truth, and she couldnt help when it slipped from her lips.
Roderic: He nodded his head. "Thought she made it to Mexico. She said she was going there. For family. But I guess she didn't make it." He said, looking away from her. How would he feel if Nix was dead and probably wasn't coming back? He already knew. He would go in after her. Again. "You haven't heard from her at all? Even in your head? I forget what she was." He frowned, not sure she actually told him. Was she a shadow like him? Nix sired a lot of them from what he remembered. From what he heard.
Saige: Saige shook her head. "The last I heard from her, was an email. She had sent it to me saying sorry and to look after Rice. Though she could do the whole mind thing... I havent heard from her that way since a month prior to her going missing." She admitted, shaking her head once more. She missed her so much, it made her heart hurt. How was that possible, she wondered, if it was no longer beating? Had to be how emotions worked, no matter dead or alive. "I really miss her." She mumbled, unclasping her hands to put one over her heart and press against it, trying to will it to stop hurting. It didnt. "Though I still have Rice... thank goodness."
Roderic: He looked around, then leaned forward, the pitch in his voice lowering. "I've seen her. Recently. Sort of." He admitted. "I was in the sewers and this woman was screaming at me. Thought it was a shadow at first, but she stayed around for a while and never popped out of shadows. She claimed she was Jules. Not seen her in about three months though. Or heard her."
Saige: "What?" She asked, her eyes got wide a little as she tried to understand exactly what he had said. He saw her? Or rather... he heard from her? And what, he didnt think to mention it to her? But then she stopped for a second, blinking at Roderic. Had he not said anything for the sake of her mindset? She had been in denial, the whole time, thinking that Juliet was off having a good time, spending it in Mexico and loving every second of it. How naive of her to think such a thing - when the woman hadnt even tried to get a hold of her. No, Juliet was gone. "It probably wasnt her."
