Path of the Vampire forum

There have been a couple of us path-goers who have been (and still are!) fervently working to bring to you more use-able formats and templates these past few weeks for the Path of the Vampire Wikipedia.

The wiki is 100% user maintained and updated! This means that all of the edits and updates made to it are by people like you! Beta testers who know the in's and out's of the game as it evolves and changes are essential to the upkeep of the wiki.

Creating a wiki account is easier than you'd believe! Creating an account using your characters IGN takes less than a minute.

We realized that the wiki deterred these essential people because they weren't sure of exactly what to do or how to do it, or were deterred by the code.

In order for you to use the wiki more often and with a more efficient ease of use, we have added these things:

Wiki Coding Walkthrough -- This page will walk you through the simple basics of creating a page, as well as wiki-fying a page. It provides you with plenty of helpful links and tons of information that will get you started on your own character page.

Once you have your page created, these are a few things that you can add to it as well:

Character Boxes -- These are a nifty way to display attributes, characteristics, skills, owned buildings, levels reached, powers as well as rp powers and curses that your character may inhibit.

Wikipage Scrollbox -- This is generally for use with the boxes, so that if you want to use say 50 of them, that they wont stretch your page beyond the text of your page. Though it can be used for any text or wiki code. If you are having trouble using this template, after reading through the template page, then just send me a pm or Y!M.

User Maintenance Only -- To put a black bar with white text at the top of your characters page that states that it is to be edited by you and only you. Of course there are exceptions to this and will not stop people from editing your page, and if you do not plan to keep up on your page, it is suggested you do not use this template.

This was a collaborative effort of three people, so thanks to Lyssa and Susan for the help! (And Bethy for being my New User labrat!)

Great work you guys! You've put in tons of work on the wiki over the past year, and it's been very helpful.

If there's anything specific you want done with wiki code, I can probably figure out how it's done. Cam's the creative genius with massive patience, I'm like the... figure out how it works/why it's broken or how to fix it person <.<

So if there's something you think can/should be made or made easier, let one of us know.

Also, if you find an article you think needs major help, but you either don't feel like you know how to change it/don't have the time/whatever reason don't wanna do it, please add a {{Clean}} tag to the top of the article so others know to take a look at it.

It that for everyone to add that tag or just David?

And I also want to thank everyone for the work on the wiki. It is a lot more fun to use now! I'm still getting used to how different it is from the other wiki I used to work on but all the new additions help a LOT!

Like everything on the wiki, it's for everyone to use. I mean, don't go nuts - all pages could always be better, but if you find one that's particularly lacking, short, missing information, has old/outdated information, tack it up there. I'm always looking for stuff to improve and having that tag on the page makes that easy to find what's sorely in need of updates.

Well I actually have not seen much if anything that needs fixing so much as I think up things that could be added sometimes but do not feel I'm up to snuff to actually do a whole lot. But I could start pages and let others make them all shiny and pretty.
