Hacking + Politics

So I'm hacking away, minding my own business when...
0h 0m ago: One of the files you downloaded contained information which could be sensitive to the campaign efforts of the municipal candidate Wyatt Bancroft. Click here to send this information to the press, if you wish.
Decided to click it, just to see what happens. And then got a message saying I sent it to the press. wtf did I just send to the press? I want to know what I'm sending to the press.
Also, there should be a "NO" button.
IC-wise, how does that work?
Phoenix: "Oh yeah, I unearthed some dirt on Bancroft. Some really badass dirt."
Someone else: "What dirt?"
Phoenix: "Dirt, man. Dirt. You have no idea. Actually, neither do I, but the press has it now."
Someone else: "Riiiiiight..."
Phoenix: "This dirt is going to be huge."

Is a good point.
If it is 'dirt', what kind of dirt is it?
Some people may not feel certain types of dirt are all that important to get themselves in a twist over. What did they do to be considered dirt?
We can use Bill Clinton and JFK as examples here. Both men were accused of sexual indiscretions in their times, however even having proof of that boiled down to a single point (which is NOT even being brought into play at the moment) which is 'did/do they do their job?'
Clinton obviously didn't because we were forced to watch the public spectacle over the matter, but the rumors abounded over Kennedy and Miss Monroe but there was never a public scandal over it all. Why? Lack of evidence, reluctance to speak up, or the fact the man, a flawed man-we all are, did his job?
Crude example, but I think the point is made. We need to know exactly what 'dirt' we dealing with and also a past track record of these clowns would be a big help.

It would make sense that since a hacker found it the hacker would also know what it is they do. I mean the evidence hacks tell us what vampires do (ie: killing cops or seen feeding.)

Yeah okay I see your point. But if there's going to be BIG dirt to find on them, it should be way more rare. This is just for little stuff, so I didn't feel the need to specify. It only slightly shifts the sliders anyway.

As it should be. Little stuff is just that-little. Tho if done right it can be a trail of bread crumbs to help develop a picture of these people. Multiple little things concerning the same subject can suggest there really is an issue here or something is being blown out of proportion. The big scandals of course should be hard to get to and find, but the little ones should help in the process as well. Meaning (example) Clues 1, 5, and 7 of the little ones were bs, but 2,3,4, and 6 all make major big clue discovery make perfect sense.
Yes, this is kinda a scavenger hunt in a way. Just need to make the clues worth scavenging for.

I agree.
I just found two in a row on Trinity, one for Gilbert and one for Spencer. Now, not knowing much about politics or whatever, Trinity was like 'haha, I get to cause problems for someone, send to the press!' yet, she'd like to know just exactly what she sent to the press. I understand that it should be more rare for the bigger things, but even still, even the little things can have some kind of impact, or just be fun little tidbits to know.

Might also give us some ideas for rp to either try and exploit what it is we found out or try and actively cover it up.

Hmm... radio counts as press, right?
And Killian still owns a radio station...
I'm thinking a thread may be in order. With random, stupid little bits of dirt thrown in. And possibly an actual radio show to go along with it!
