Catching Up (Micah)

Post by Nyla »

She'd been slacking again. It's the way she always was. One step forward and 10 steps backwards. She went to the party that she knew she had no business going to and the aftermath of it had her wary to so much as leave her house, let alone interact with other people. She hated being the source of drama at family events, though she was sure there were those who assumed otherwise. It was better than it had been she thought… but when it started to overwhelm her there was rarely anything she could do save leave before the worst happens.

That didn't excuse her completely falling off the face of the Earth though. She eyed the surroundings of her home and thought better of requesting a meeting there. Vampires were territorial and even if this wasn't a hostile meeting, surely neutral territory would be best? It wasn't often that she had a problem one on one with the man, in fact he was usually the reason she kept it together as well as she did, but the feeling was still there.

Where to go though? That…that she had no idea. So instead of calling right away she wandered aimlessly around the outskirts of the city. Not far enough away that she felt the dangers the fae presented, but still so she could be surrounded by greenery instead of the suffocating city dwellings. She'd kept notice of where she wandered, enough so she could give him the name of the park she'd found herself in. He'd been able to find her that last time, but maybe that had only been because she'd been in trouble?

It didn't matter, because she knew where she was. Slipping out her phone she debated for a moment between calling and texting, before clicking on the message button. Are you busy? The message was so simple and yet she still reread it over and over before finally hitting the send button. She didn't want him assuming something was wrong. She knew she was more than likely overthinking everything, but she figured he'd understand. He was good at that.
