Path of the Vampire forum

• Simple. Start an open thread, or join an open thread. You may have all noticed that I am a little passionate about this. It wasn't too long ago that the writing culture on this forum was far more diverse. There were plenty of open threads, and plenty of people who wanted to join them. This competition is to try to encourage people to start opening threads again. We want to try to encourage people to try to step out of their comfort zones - try, if you can, to write with characters and players that you haven't written with before. Get your characters out and about and meeting new people.
  
  A lot of the concerns with opening threads is that people don't join, which is why this competition is open those who both open and join threads. Let's try and do a healthy amount of both.

• 1000 RPP to ALL participants (including the prize draw winners).
• 4000 RPP to the first name drawn at random.
• 2000 RPP to the second name drawn at random.
  
  IF YOU JOIN/CREATE MORE THAN ONE THREAD WITH ONE CHARACTER, THAT CHARACTER'S NAME WILL ONLY GO IN THE PRIZE DRAW ONCE. IF YOU POST WITH THREE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS, EACH CHARACTER WILL GO IN THE DRAW ONCE.

• Post to any public boards, but make sure to put [ARPC] in the thread's title.
• Posts need to be 200 words or more.
• Each participant must post at least 5 times.
• The thread overall must reach 20 posts or more.
• You may only open/join four threads as part of this competition, across all characters (please, if you don't think you can keep up with four threads, then do not join/start four threads).
• If 48 hours pass and there has been no response from a participant, that participant can be skipped (if there are three or more participants).
• Try to join threads that aren't started by your friends. Mix it up a bit!
• There is no theme - have at it!
• Deadline: You have until (grid) Sunrise, 31st of August.

What happens if you start a thread and no-one joins it? Or you join a thread and the other/s flake?

• If you start a thread and no one joins, you will still receive a small participation reward.

Is there a skipping rule? Or an ability to solo if no-one joins?

• There is a skipping rule - I've added it to the guidelines: If 48 hours pass and there has been no response from a participant, that participant can be skipped (if there are three or more participants).
• The aim of this competition is to garner a good writing community. Unfortunately it is not a solo competition - so no, there won't be an opportunity to solo if no one joins. If you would like your open thread to turn into a solo, contact a staff member so that it can be moved into the Stories and Journals board.
