You should all go check out Porter Robinson's album 'Worlds'.
He takes old music from old games (ala Legends of Zelda) and has remastered/remixed them.
I don't generally like this kind of music but this album is majestic. This is the Zelda one:

I don't recognise any themes from Zelda in either of those mixes.
Here are (in my opinion) the greatest ever performances based on a score from one of the Zelda games:
The second one nearly makes me wet my pants every time.

I kind of did. Ocarina of time is what he used - or maybe he was just inspired by video games. Iunno, google him and interviews and things come up and Zelda is mentioned a lot.

The robot girl opens "Sad Machine" saying, "Is anybody there?" While "Seas of Voice" was a slow track, Robinson's latest single slaps with some hand claps and twinkling synths. "And though I know since you've awakened her again / She depends on you," he sings along with the robot. One section of the track brings about "The Legend of Zelda" vibes with an ocarina riding the DJ's lofty beats.
So maybe not the actual song. Just the Ocarina sound. I don't know - I just like the music and he was inspired by old school video games. XD
He did do this though:

I still like this one the best....
It's got the coin noises and the mushroom growth and the tubes and such - all from one instrument. lol

Nothing can be better than a guy in a full red dragon fursuit playing video game music on a keyboard with some equipment malfunctioning and still managing to nail it perfectly. With full head mask and all. FurCon 2014 - FC Unleased variety show. I was - and still am - fangirling over that.
