What's the point?

I do a lot of B+E and I've never found gunpowder anywhere. Means I have to buy it at $100 a go.

Most of the ammo costs less than $100 to outright buy.

So I'm spending $100 and energy to craft and energy to get to the smith thing - for something I could have bought outright for 0 energy and less $.

Have I missed something? Like, do we get more ammo if we craft than if we buy?

You succeeded in forging the .44 Ammo (940 rounds, total) and gained 22 mind exp.
