Shopping Yay! [Nix]

‹Phoenix› Even though Saige had only insistent on a certain amount for the buckle, Nix felt like she'd underpaid despite having sent an extra few thousand along with her payment. Money wasn't everything, of course, but she wanted to do something nice for the woman - something fun. Saige had grown on the redhead like algae on an intertidal rock, and Nix really hadn't ever gotten the chance to properly express that. So here she was at the mall, sitting on the edge of the burbling fountain, waiting for the woman to respond to the text she'd sent. "You should come meet me at the mall - I have a surprise."

‹Saige› When her phone rang Saige had scrambled to get to it, making sure she didn't knock anything over off the desk in the process. She grinned when she read it was from Phoenix - her grandsire. Family had always meant everything to her, the way she cared about them all was nothing short of a bleeding heart, even buying extra water balloon guns for the next family get together so people didn't end up with limb ripped from their bodies again out of 'jest'. She quickly sent a text back and grabbed up her purse, slinging the straps over her shoulder as she stepped through the fadeportal and then to the station to take it as fast as it would take her to the Wickbridge area. She knew the way like the back of her hand, having working in one of the stores her sire owned not to mention the countless hours she spent shopping there. Seeing the redhead the moment she entered, she waved, clutching to her purse before making her way over to her with a grin. "Hello Miss Phoenix. Looking lovely as usual."

‹Phoenix› Thankfully, Saige didn't make her wait long. Patience had been a skill she'd been working on, but it was definitely still a work in progress. When she spotted her grandchilde making her way to towards the fountain, Nix pushed herself to her feet. A smile broke over her lips at the woman's greeting before she leaned down to give a quick hug in greeting. "Miss Phoenix? Really? Alright Miss Saige, if that's how you want to play it," she teased lightly before flicking her eyes down the length of the mall. "Why thank you! You look lovely, too! I did have a thought, though - since we're doing those raids together, I think you need something a bit more appropriate for hunting, wardrobe-wise." She let that sink in, waiting for the woman to compute that before saying anything at all about unitards. "So... I decided it's perfect time to get you a few new, fight-resistant items for your closet!" Fluttering her lashes, she hooked her arm with Saige's and carefully guided her to the biker shop she had in mind.

‹Saige› She laughed, light and full of jest as she nodded. She couldn't remember a time she wasn't formal, so it wasn't odd for her to hear Phoenix call her Miss Saige. She grinned wide allowing her grandsire to lead her down the length of the mall as she surveyed her own outfit. A frilly blue layered skirt that came down to her knees, light blue stockings dressed up her legs coming up out of her black suede boots. Her top was a 'v' cut long sleeved one, a bright tealish color, matching her eyes almost perfectly. She frowned. "I dont think its that bad..." She almost muttered, then looking up and over at Nix with those bright blue hues.

* Phoenix pressed her lips into a serious line as she eyed Saige's outfit, and then glanced down to her own. A blood-red tunic, belted around the waist and a pair of black leather pants that clung to what little curves she had. While the tunic helped hide how thin she was, the clinging leather accentuated her emaciation, especially where they plunged into a pair of combat boots. Those boots had seen far better days. The leather was scuffed and cracked, but she was reluctant to replace them; they'd served her well over the years and could last a bit longer. "You're lovely right now, but if something needed to die, it'd probably bleed and then you'd get all that blue turned red and... well. You don't want to ruin your clothes, do you?" It was a rhetorical question. Once the strange-looking pair had reached the sales rack outside the shop, Nix glanced to Saige. "Besides, there's something incredibly attractive about your partner in leather pants."

‹Saige› Death. It was never something Saige was okay with. She had struggled with it daily, and the memories she had of her previous days before hacking was plaguing her nightly. She pushed through it though, knowing that the past was the past and the future was what she made it. And as much as she didn't like the killing, she knew that her grandsire was right. That during those raids things got messy, and that she knew Saige all too well to throw her clothes under the bus. "Of course not, no." She would have blushed then, looking down to the floor, then back up to Phoenix. "You really think so?" She giggled then, gliding along.

‹Phoenix› After giving a perfectly lewd waggle of her brows, she nodded. "I know so. I mean, taking them off is more fun - kind of like unwrapping a fantastic gift, but they do look nice on, too." She hummed for a moment, browsing through the available sale items with obvious displeasure before shaking her head and wandering inside. Only a moment later, she'd found a pair of black leather pants with a pink flower of the same material sewn onto one of the back pockets. "What about this? Efficient, yet kind of you. You should try something on..." Another flutter of her lashes, as if that would convince the woman.

‹Saige› She giggled again, clearly embarrassed by her grandsire's acknowledgement that Saige wasn't exactly a saint here and there - but then again, who was? She grinned and watched her grandsire for a second, then just as quickly shifted through the items on the rack as well. They were items she wouldn't have picked to save her life, but if her grandsire was right... maybe Velia would be impressed? Keeping that in mind, she followed after Phoenix into the store, picking out a vest to survey it before looking up and over to Phoenix. She looked over the pants, her eyes stuck on the pink flower. They were cute, and incredibly form fitting. Saige would have to try them on. "Looks like you have a good eye. I'll have to try them on though." She admitted, giving a nod and agreeing as she put the vest back on the rack and reached for the pair of pants gingerly.

‹Phoenix› "Yes, yes you do!" After handing over the pants with a nod of sheer approval, she waved over a clerk and shooed her grandchilde off to the fitting room. The devious plan was working. Though... the more she thought about it, the less devious and more practical it seemed. No matter. Saige still needed a jacket. Hunting around for a minute more and she came across the jacket that went with the pants - a perfect intro combination to leather for the little blonde. Pleased with herself, Nix meandered back to the fitting room and tossed the jacket over the half door, careful to catch the hanger on the top. "Try that on too! And let me see!" she chirped excitedly before standing back, out of sight of the fitting area's full-length mirror.

‹Saige› Being shuffled into the fitting room, Saige took the pants in both hands and stood there for a moment. "Oh dear..." They were tight. She could already tell that they were going to be work getting them on. She only hoped that it would be worth it in the long run as she gently removed the hanger from the pants and kicked her boots off. Not bothering to take the tights off, she slid the pants on and shimmied them up, removing her skirt then as she was startled by the jacket over the door. She blinked, staring at it, she smiled and buttoned the pants up to reach up and slide the jacket off he hanger and over her shoulders. "Okay." She took a deep breath, and stepped out, ready to show the outfit to her grandsire. "It goes well together, you have a great eye for matching." She grinned, doing a little spin so Phoenix could see it fully. "Well?"

‹Phoenix› The redhead rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet as she waited, looking like an overly excited nine year old. She didn't care that the clerk was eyeing her like she'd gone completely insane or that he knew there was something off about her. When she finally managed to catch his eye while he gawked, she shot him a withering glare. And that was the end of it - just in time for the door to the changing room to squeak open. Her hands clapped together and her grin broadened as she took in Saige's new look. "It's like a blood-proof badass starter kit." She really hoped Mr. Gawk hadn't overheard that - the last thing they needed was a police escort. "I think it's perfect. They probably feel a bit stiff now, but the more you wear them, the more they'll conform to your curves. Leather gives in all the right places. And you get to keep all your nice clothes clean! What do you think of it?" she asked, finally. Since that really was important.

‹Saige› Bad ***. Saige tugged a bit on the jacket, the leather minimally stretching in the tugging motion as it made an odd soft squeak and then shifted on her shoulders. She was all smiles, and she wouldn’t admit to her grandsire that she was a little uncomfortable in the clothing; especially since she thought that maybe Velia would like it. This would all be worth it if the other did, and Saige would give anything to see a look of lust on Velia’s face the moment she saw her… instead of the incredibly melting look of adoration and love she usually got from the pink haired beauty. She giggled a soft bit and bent a little at the hips, the leather indeed stretching in all the right places. “Its not always going to be this uncomfortable?” She asked, trying not to sound displeased as her smile remained practically glued to her face. And then there was the aspect that they were blood proof - Saige most certainly could not argue that. She would most likely buy the outfit just because of that fact alone - the money spent would be well spent on it because of the money saved on her other more important clothing. And who knew, maybe after a while she would get used to the leather?

‹Phoenix› She watched Saige, a smile on her lips as the woman picked at the leather. It did fit her quite well, especially for new leather. When the woman raised her concern, Nix shook her head. “Nope! That’s the beautiful thing about leather… At first it’s kind of uncomfortable, but once you break it in, it molds exactly to your body like a second skin.” Which is exactly what it was - something else’s skin, but Nix didn’t feel it necessary to go into that much detail. Inching over, Nix carefully plucked the tags off the jacked and the pants, trying her very best not to violate Saige’s personal space while groping around. “Go get changed and I’ll go pay - you really do look fantastic!”

With a teasing wink, the redhead slipped over to the counter and offered up both price tags for scanning. It wouldn’t have mattered if the leathers bankrupted her; Saige deserved the world twice over.

‹Saige› She smiled sheepishly, knowing she would get used to them regardless. She liked seeing Phoenix happy, so she was glad that trying on some clothes did that for her. But when the woman stole the tags off the clothes Saige blinked. She opened her mouth to protest, but the moment Nix had finished speaking she was already at the counter with the tags and Saige knew she couldn’t protest.

She giggled with a shake of her head as she made her way back into the fitting room, shutting the door behind her to undress and put back on her original outfit that was much more girly and gave her a different look altogether. Saige couldn’t help but think about Juliet, and how the woman always dressed modestly yet sort of like Nix. It was like she was a mix between the two, and Saige missed seeing that. She missed her. Pausing for a moment before stepping back out, she drew a deep breath and put her smile back on. She knew the last thing Nix needed right now was to see another frown. She slung her bag back over her shoulder and made her way to the counter with the two items slung over her arm. “So how much was the total?”

‹Phoenix› While she paid the bill, she made a conscious effort to not look towards the changing rooms. She didn’t need Saige’s protests about paying for things. By the time she was done, the little woman had thankfully conceded defeat and went to get changed. Patiently, the redhead waited by the counter, bag in hand. Once she reappeared, Nix held the bag open so the blond could deposit her new clothing. The tags had already been removed and the receipt shoved in the deep, dark recesses of Nix’s purse where it was unlikely to ever again see the light of day.

“Free,” she replied airily. Once Saige had dropped the leather in the bag, she made her way towards the exit. “I had store credit - frequent flyer points or something,” she lied.

‹Saige› Saige giggled a bit, knowing the clothes couldn’t have been free, no matter how much store credit Phoenix had. She didn’t protest, or dig deeper though - if her grandsire wanted to buy her something nice, she wouldn’t stop her. Not to mention she knew it was helping her just to be out and about and not sulking around her extravagant castle. “Alrighty then! I appreciate this, Phoenix. And everything else.” She was sure that the woman already knew that, but it couldn’t have hurt anything to say it again.

Saige followed after Phoenix as the two finally made it to the exit, the sun past the horizon now as the stars started to come out into focus. “Oh look, the big dipper is out.” She smiled warmly as she pointed up to it.

‹Phoenix› Despite everything, Nix’s smile was completely genuine as those warm brown eyes flicked to Saige. Some people just bring out the best in others, and this little creature certainly was one of them. “You’re welcome. It’s the least I can do.” The statement was simple, and like the smile, perfectly sincere. She could have argued that no amount of money could ever equal the kindness and affection Saige had shown, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it - it was simply one of those unspoken truths that Nix had never been comfortable saying aloud.

Once they’d stepped out into the night, Nix’s eyes trailed up to where Saige was pointing. The stars in Harper Rock seemed so much brighter than in Toronto; there, they’d been drowned out by the city glow. Appreciate the little things, Nix, she reminded herself as she listened to her grandchilde point out some of the other constellations as they walked. Strange how she’d never paid much attention to something so perfectly omnipresent. After a few minutes of silent appreciation of the firmament, Nix dragged her eyes back to the ground. “You know… I’ve never really thought to look up. It’s really pretty...”

‹Saige› They were walking, and she was pointing. The constellations were always something she had found interest in, and she was even minoring in astrology at the college she was going to just before the fated night with Juliet and the homeless man. She turned the corner at the right spot to head back to Sparrow lane, and to Velia.

“It sure is! And to think, those are just other suns millions of miles away.” She giggled, “Who knows what’s really out there.” She grinned, clearly enjoying the time spent with her grandsire. “We should do this again sometime. I would like that very much.”

‹Phoenix› She was appreciating the lesson in constellations - really a lesson in imagination - and so hadn’t really paid much attention to where they were going. Nix had her tome, so anywhere in the city was just a whisper from home.

“You think there are aliens?” she finally asked, squinting up at the specks of light - the suns. Pausing as they stepped onto Sparrow Lane, Nix’s brow furrowed. “If they’re suns, why don’t they burn us at night…? That would suck, but really, shouldn’t we be hurt a bit when the moon is full or something?”

‹Saige› She couldn’t help but to stop when Nix started to talk, giving a slight giggle as she nodded and shrugged gently. “Course I do. It’d be naive to think that we are all there is in this universe.” She tipped her head to the side a little, standing there for a moment longer before starting to walk again as she began to ponder the woman’s words. Why didn’t the other stars burn them, if they were suns too?

“Maybe its the UV rays that actually affect us… and right now, all we are seeing is light. I don’t think the rays could reach that far… otherwise there would be life on Mars, right?” Her smile matched the warmth in her eyes as she looked over at her grandsire and then to the house to the left. “There’s home.”

‹Phoenix› As she listened, Nix let her mind wander to the possibility of another race nestled among the stars. Who was she to doubt? Only a few years ago, she’d thought vampires were a myth. She could hardly close her mind to any possibility at this point. “I think aliens would be… interesting,” she admitted sheepishly. “Give humanity something to fight instead of fighting each other… or us.” It was a good thing that those far away suns were just too distant to hurt all the friendly little undead roaming the city. No one needed more things to fear.

Once they’d reached Saige’s home, Nix returned the smile and leaned in to give the woman an impromptu hug. This was also a means to pass off the bag she’d been carrying. Not wanting to keep her too long, Nix nodded. “Take care of yourself, Saigey. Say hi to V for me?”

‹Saige› She didn’t like the idea of anything fighting anything, but she knew what Phoenix meant, that there was something possibly positive to take away from a situation like that. Phoenix leaned in to hug her, and Saige wrapped her arms around the lithe tall woman with fire for hair. She squeezed, and didn’t let go for a good long second. She knew if Nix needed anything, then a good hug could help.

“Of course. I always tell her you say hi. Even if you dont.” She giggled, taking the bag and finally letting the woman go in the process. “You do the same.” She insisted, giving a nod and turning on her heel, heading up the steps and through the door to disappear into the house that was now not only Velia’s but Saige’s as well.
