Light vs Dark

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
Notte: Notte canted her head to the side. She had not meant to be seen by any. So far, her existence in this life had been invisible except for assisting the Hammer in the hunt for his companion. Now though, it seemed she had been seen and there was little that could be done. "What is this place?" The Hammer had directed her here with little guidance on what she was looking for or why, but she trusted him as others had trusted her.
Leyna Karo:: "This is a charity. A sanctuary for those in need" Leyna said, eying the woman suspiciously and hearing from Robert that she was Jonah's. "Why are you here? Are you one hunting, to kill? Well, for your summoner to kill. You realise killing is immoral and wrong right?"
Notte: The pale wraith walked around the other being, eyes looking through her, and she realized that she was a wraith like her. "There is no true death for us." She reached out, her hand passing through the other creature. "You know as well as I do."
Leyna Karo:: "You're not answering my question." She backed off, not appreciating the movement of the other by swiping through her. "Why are you here?"
Notte: "Learning," she answered honestly. In truth, she did not come to find anyone in particular. Her mission was something different entirely. The Hammer needed a sense of the building and its floors and she could easily offer him that.
Leyna Karo:: "Learning what, and why? Why are you here, and not Jonah himself? Everyone with peaceful intentions is welcome here. Only those who come for violence are abhorred. Such as those who came here and laid traps, or those who are hunting my summoner - for no reason, other than they dislike him! So. Tell me. Why you? What's the intentions behind it all?"
Notte: She turned from the other creature and looked up at one of the lights. "It is so bright here. I do not understand how anyone stands it. Shadows and darkness, that is where our power lies, our safety..." Seeming to remember the question asked of her, her tone grew more serious. "Names have power, don't you agree. That is why I lost mine centuries ago. The Hammer should lose his as well. Names of buildings, of parts of buildings, those have power too."
Leyna Karo:: "No. Lux and her Light is where we are safe, where our power is. It is her who guides and protects us. The Darkness is death and evil, corruption and taint." She frowned, as if listening to something else - and she was. Robert was talking to her, commenting on what he'd heard. "So, you are here to hear the names of the building? Is Jonah affiliated with a ritualist? Will you bring violence and pain to this Sanctuary?"
Notte: "I do as commanded by the Hammer and he does as the Goddess leads him. If violence and pain come," she turned and faced the woman, "then they are necessary. Growth is often accompanied by pain." Her hand went to her own neck where she could still feel the marks of her turning.
Leyna Karo:: "Why? Why should there be pain? How can you grow through pain? Growth cannot occur when someone is dead. For example - the traps placed here the other day. Blowing up humans and vampires, vampires in front of humans and exposing our kind. How is that good, growth?"
Notte: "The rose only grows when it is pruned back." She cared little for the pain of humans but her interest was piqued by the fact that humans mingled with vampires here. "How is it good that you let the kine mingle with us? Were they not here to begin with, they would not have seen anything at all."
Leyna Karo:: "I'm sorry. The what? Kine?"
Notte: Notte sneered at the other being. "The...humans, as you call them."
Leyna Karo:: "What does kine mean?" She asked, glaring at the sneering thing before her.
Notte: She worked for a moment to figure out how to explain it. "The large, stupid beasts that milk comes from."
Leyna Karo:: She looked horrified and stared. "That's appalling. How can you call what you once were, that? "
Notte: "I was never that. I was weak, yes. But Nox saw strength in me. She saw potential, and she gave me the tools to fulfill it."
Leyna Karo:: "********. You were human once and you cannoy tell me otherwise. And if you believe it, then you're insane. As for why they are here - I already told you. This is a charity and a sanctuary for all those in need."
Notte: "Perhaps, but being human does not make me kine. If I was kine, I would not have survived. Or if I had, I would have been lost to the Darkness. As I have now, I did then though. I fought through and survive. I have the strength that Nox requires, and that strength will serve the Hammer well." Her voice grew in passion and her eyes flashed with heat and thta heat turned to anger. "You treat them as your own kith and kin? Traitor..." She attempted to spit on the others feet but no liquid was forthcoming from her ghostly form.
Leyna Karo:: "You just said that all humans were cows, which means before you were turned, you were a cow too. You can't change that, neither can your pretend god of Darkness, who is actually Muga in disguise! You have no strength." She smirked. "You have no body to have strength with. You are nothing more than a spy and a tool. I am a friend and a helper. Here. Where we look after the humans and care for them like one of our own. Humans are us, we are human - it is our duty to look after those we can and make use of the gifts Lux has given us. We reject the Darkness and embrace the Light. We nurture and grow through compassion and care. We do not hurt and bring pain to others for our own amusement. Like your summoner and his 'friends'"
Notte: "You lack understanding. A caterpillar is not a worm despite its looks and its weakness. It holds the potential to be more, as did all of us who Nox smiles upon." She shook her head sadly, pitying the other woman. "Strength is not of the body. Strength of the mind, strength of will. Strength to not succumb to the madness of the realm, to not deny what I am, what we all are."
Leyna Karo:: "A butterfly started as a caterpillar and a butterfly cannot deny it used to be a caterpillar. The same is true of humans and vampires. And Nox has nothing to do with it. That is a name used by Muga to gain trust and followers to do his work for him. And from what I've heard - you've succumbed to madness already"
Notte: "A human I might have been, but kine I never was." Her smile grew, baring her fangs. "Perhaps you were though. A little animal, scared of the shadows and the dark places. Even now you act like one of them. Running from the shadows and what you are." She stepped forward. "Tell me little one, did you not taste them? Not even once? Did you not let the sweet nectar held within them fill your mouth and belly?"
Leyna Karo:: She stood there, smiling at her. "And you run from the Light and her love, hiding in your shadows as she banishes them. While there is Light, shadows cannot survive. Light is greater than darkness. I did taste blood, and drank of it. But from those willing to give it, who knew what I was, accepted it and saw the good that could be done together. Where you slaughtered - I helped them to flourish and prosper. You destroyed, I grew. You and yours are the reason we all died. The humans who knew me, tried to protect me, hide me and mine from those who hunted me. It was your fault - and you will drive Jonah and those like him to another holocaust. What good would that be?"
Notte: "You know nothing of what I did. Your light may cast back the shadows for now, but they will always return. As we do. I protected our kind from threats you do not comprehend..." She looked through the other wraith, her mind summoning up images of ancient battles.
Leyna Karo:: "Light will always dispell shadows, and Light will always shine, even in the darkest places. You did not protect our kind from anything. We all died."
Notte: It took a few moments for the words to register to Notte and she looked at the woman again. "And lights will always burn out. Darkness is the natural state of being." The final words hurt her, she had died early in the holocaust, but took as many foes with her as she could. "We died because too many of us strayed in to the light."
Leyna Karo:: "No. We died because the Darkness scared the humans. The screams, the blood, the violence. hey feared the things that went bump in the night, in the Dark, and embraced the Light. THAT is why they wiped us out before. Because of the fear of the Darkness and what it brought with it. Lights will never burn out so long as they are given fuel and sustenance, and she gives it to us all!"
Notte: "You know nothing of your history, do you?"
Leyna Karo:: "I know everything about my history."
Notte: Notte canted her head to the side. She had not meant to be seen by any. So far, her existence in this life had been invisible except for assisting the Hammer in the hunt for his companion.
