Lorelai: True to her word Lorelai came by to see CC at the start of every evening. It was nice seeing a friendly face and worked out well as Lorelai saw CC before retiring to her hotel room for the night and CC got to see Lorelai before her night really began. They had a very odd relationship in which Lorelai would continually try to maintain boundaries between them and CC would continually push against them. Only a couple of nights had passed where Lorelai hadn’t seen CC, due to her job, something she was still getting her head around. One such night was the night before and so Lorelai had stayed home and sulked. She didn’t realise that that was what she was doing until she found herself unable to settle. It was due in part to this realisation that she practically skipped into Silks, her soft yellow dress swishing about her as she moved past the bouncers and the girl working the ticket office. Saying her name got her in the door and she didn’t need to be shown the way, and half ran up the stairs, her gold sandals clipping with every step. She had a woollen shawl in her hands which she’d shrugged off the moment she’d stepped through the threshold. Reaching CC’s door, she knocked lightly and then walked in. “Evening CC,” she sang out as she closed the door behind her. This RP takes place on Monday 5th May 2014.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC had just finished getting herself dressed when 'ell came skipping in through the door. She grinned at the girl and walked over on her red platform heels and leant in REALLY close as if to kiss her but stopped short and grinned. "Hi!" Then she moved away again. She wasn't walking and smoothly as she normally did and there was a slight hitch in her step as if her hip was bothering her. She smoothed out her 'dress' and tucked a stray piece of hair up into her pinned Mohican, finishing off with some lip balm. "Did you have a good night last night? Everything ok during the day? No-one's tried anything right?"
Lorelai: Lorelai watched the way that CC moved and frowned noticing that she didn’t seem quite as graceful in her stride as she normally did. “Oh I am very well thank you,” she replied as she threw her shawl onto the bed and walked to embrace her friend. “I missed seeing you yesterday,” she admitted as she slipped her arms around CC’s waist and laid her head on her shoulder. “Are you okay?” Lorelai held CC close, still trying to listen for a heartbeat as if the woman would miraculously turn human overnight. “Did you hurt yourself?” Lorelai pulled back and looked CC over, her hands now holding her hips as if the physical contact might help discern the answer.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She smiled and hugged the girl back again, holding her close and letting her nose bury into the blonde locks that were now at nose height - since she had her shoes on just now. In bare feet, the opposite were true and she was the shorter one.... but for now, she enjoyed the moment. She looked into the woman's eyes as she asked if she was ok and nodded her head. "Nothing I can't handle. And I missed you too." She'd known however, she'd not have been able to go through with her client's appointment if she'd seen 'ell yesterday. Her mind needed to be in a certain place for that particular client.
Lorelai: It felt like there was something CC wasn’t saying but Lorelai wasn’t going to push it, instead she hugged her again, only this time a little more tightly. “I didn’t sleep well last night. I think it’s because I hadn’t seen you. Which is a little odd maybe but I think that might be why. I just couldn’t settle.” Lorelai had slept the night before though her dreams had woken her time and time again and while she didn’t remember the details she knew they always involved CC in some way.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She frowned and cupped the girl's face in her hands, staring into her eyes. "Why? I'm sorry - I mean." Frowns more deeply. "What was on your mind?"
Lorelai: “Honestly?” she began looking into CC’s eyes as if she were trying to gleam the answer from her. “I’m not entirely sure. Perhaps I’m just used to our routine and so having not seen you meant my day hadn’t really finished. Or maybe…” she shrugged. “I don’t know. It was probably just that.” She suddenly pulled away from CC as she realised that she still had her arms around her, her eyes scanning the room for something, anything that she could distract herself with and failing.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "'Ell..... you're being a bit weird. What's going on?" She asked as the girl seemed to suddenly pull away from her. She limped over and around to the front of her and looked at her in concern. "'Ell, talk to me."
Lorelai: Lorelai began pacing back and forth, her right hand curled in on itself like a loose fist as she chewed on the nail of her index finger. It was a nervous habit she had and she couldn’t stop herself from doing it. “Nothing is going on. Everything’s good,” she mumbled, still chewing on herself. “I should probably let you get on with your night,” she made a move to grab her shawl, her intent to get back outside in the cool night air, providing CC would allow that, that was.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC didn't make a move to stop her, mostly because she was so totally and completely confused as to what was going on with her. "I'd rather you didn't. As I said.... I did miss you. I mean... well, I could blow off work tonight if you like? We could.... spend.... some more time? You don't have to. If you don't want to. I mean. I know I make you come here each day. But it's cause I worry. I know you don't like it here, or.... me?"
Lorelai: With her hand on the handle and her back to CC, she listened as she spoke before head-butting the door and freezing there, her forehead pressed against the hard surface. At the prospect of spending more time with CC, Lorelai was both excited and terrified all at once. “You’re not the problem…,” she whispered, forgetting how good vampiric hearing was, “I am.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She blinked and walked up behind Lorelai, rubbing her back softly in what she hoped was a soothing manner. Certainly seemed to be in the films and things she'd seen. "What do you mean you're a problem?"
Lorelai: She sighed when she realised CC had heard her. Her hands on her shoulders felt good and when she turned to face her, to try and explain she felt her heart skip a beat and instead of replying to the question she’d been asked, she found herself asking a question of her own. “This is going to sound stupid I know but… if I asked you to take your shoes off… would you do it?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She couldn't help but smile, with a little chuckle, at the odd request. Especially as an answer to her question. However, she nodded her head and took that as 'ell asking the question so slid her shoes off and stood there in her bare feet.
Lorelai: Height was about the only advantage Lorelai had on the woman and so when CC complied with the request she sighed with relief, dropping her shawl to the ground. The very moment that second foot went down on the floor, Lorelai grabbed a hold of CC’s face hungrily and kissed her. She wasn’t able to find the words to say what she’d been thinking of late and so had instead focused her energy into one single, perfect (in her mind at least) action. As their lips parted, Lorelai breathed a deep sigh of relief as if she’d been holding her breath, her posture suddenly much more relaxed and she smiled to herself. “That was my problem,” she whispered, her thumbs stroking at CC’s cheeks as she pulled back a little so as to look into her eyes.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: Well, she'd not been expecting that! As their lips found one another, CC wrapped her arms lightly around 'ell's waist and drew her close. Her lips massaged and her tongue teased - but she stopped as soon as 'ell pulled back. Gently, CC's hands ran over 'ell's back as a small smile crept across her face and she looked back. "Well..... How do you feel now?"
Lorelai: “Like I can breathe,” she replied as she laughed softly. “I know I’m stupid. I know I could have done that before now, it’s just…” her hands wrapped around CC’s body, resting in the small of her back before leaning her head against hers. “Last night. I don’t think I realised just how much my time with you every day mattered until then.” She couldn’t even begin to start telling the woman how she’d felt sick thinking of someone else touching her, if she was going to let herself fall for the woman she was going to have to accept what she did for a living.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC lifted one of her hands and let the back of it stroke 'ell's cheek gently. "That's not stupid. That's really.... sweet. You know I care about you too, have done from the start." She smiled and lifted up her chin to press another kiss to 'ell's lips while the hand on her face cupped her cheek and the other lifted to let her nails tease the bare skin on her shoulders.
Lorelai: Lorelai accepted the second kiss but didn’t return it as she could have done as a soft shiver of excitement rushed through her, starting from the spot where CC touched her shoulder. “Why when you say sweet does it sound like an insult?” she asked teasingly. “That word is either not in your usual vocabulary or you were fighting the urge to swear right before saying it. Which was it?” Her eyes twinkled with amusement as she waited for the answer. Looking away from CC seemed an almost impossible task in that moment too and so her eyes remained transfixed on hers.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC just grinned and shrugged her shoulders. "Both. You keep harping on about my swearing, so I'm trying not to - around you. And sweetness, not a lot of that around me. Not the genuine sort like you anyways. You're so different to everything I know. It's wonderful" Her grin widened, her nails still dancing lightly over 'ell's shoulders and back of her neck.
Lorelai: Involuntarily almost Lorelai closed her eyes and leaned in to CC’s touch. “You don’t have to work so hard to please me CC. I’m not a… I mean,” she rolled her eyes at herself and sighed in frustration as she realised she should have stayed quiet. “You’re not working right now is all I mean.” Lorelai smiled at CC and let her thumbs begin to stroke CC’s back in a very delicate gesture.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She snorted softly and shook her head. "I'm doing nothing other than letting go of a little of my restraint. You've no idea how hard it's been not to push your limits and say what I was really thinking. I didn't want to scare you off. My sort of vampire - feel things a LOT stronger than others and humans do. Now, I can relax and touch you like I've wanted to for the last week or two"
Lorelai: “Well I don’t know about that,” Lorelai laughed softly as she gently pulled CC against her and let go of her all in the space of a second. “You and I have two completely different speeds. I would however love to take you up on your offer of spending some more time together tonight, if you ca spare a few hours for me that is?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: Nods her head, letting herself be pulled and pushed around. "What do you fancy doing?"
Lorelai: “Anything you like. I’m not exactly experienced when it comes to dating someone remember. So in this I am very much in your hands. That is… If we are dating? Can someone in your…profession date? I don’t mean that to sound rude I’ve just never dated anyone like you before.” Her brow furrowed as she heard how that sounded and even she wasn’t sure if she meant someone of her profession or vampire, or perhaps both.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She raised an eyebrow and gently stroked out 'ell's hair. "What does dating mean to you?" She asked, curiously and wondered if this was where she was asked to give up her job. "And the city is your oyster. Have you seen anything you'd like to try? Restaurant you'd like to go to? So on and so forth?"
Lorelai: “You know I’m not exactly sure how to answer that as I’m sure our definitions in this likely don’t match either. I may very well be insane for even contemplating dating a vampire in the first place, let alone one in your line of work.” There was no judgemental tone in her voice as she said the last bit, it was all very matter-of-fact. “When I’ve been with people in the past it was always…how do I say this without it sounding wrong? I suppose it was always just the two of us. I have no idea how you share someone you care about, not in that way. I’m willing to try. I am. I just…” she sighed for the umpteenth time that night. “I just hope we find a way to make it work,” she held back from saying it directly but by this she basically meant that she hoped it would work. “I’ve not actually eaten in a restaurant before…so I’ll have to rely on you to choose a place to eat.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Well, that's why I was asking your definition - because of my job. Cause if you can cope with what I do - then yes." She grinned. "We're dating." She gently stroked 'ell's hair and couldn't help but shake her head. "Jesus, if my sire found out....." She coughed and shrugged, grinning again. "So, never been to a restaurant? We shall have to fix that! Have you tried many different types of food? Like, from different countries?"
Lorelai: “I can try,” she replied honestly, as what felt like a swarm of butterflies fluttered inside her stomach. “Who is your sire? That is the vampire that made you, correct? And I’ve tried many different styles of cuisine. I really like Thai, Chinese or Indian. They seem to have the most vegan options.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She nodded her head. "Yes, a sire is someone who turns another. But I can't give you their name I'm afraid. And if that's what you like, that's what we'll do. Chinese strikes my fancy I think. I'll get us one of the big round tables that spin and that gets filled with a banquet type of thing."
Lorelai: Lorelai’s nose crinkled when CC said she wouldn’t name her sire. “Why can’t you name your sire?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Humans and sorcerers, paladins and blood thieves aren't supposed to know we exist, and any who do know - are to be killed. It's a huge law break of our kind to share names and identities of each other - or ourselves - with humans. It's bad enough you know about me. I'm not going to break the laws further by giving you their name. If they found out what I'd done - they would ACTUALLY kill me!"
Lorelai: She was going to ask where blood thieves thought the blood came from if they didn’t know vampires existed and began to wonder if everything she’d been taught was wrong, as she’d been educated on the existence of other gifted beings. “I’m sorry,” she brought one hand up to caress CC’s face. “I never meant to put your life in jeopardy. If you have to kill me to save yourself you do it…okay? I wouldn’t want anyone to die for my sake.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: Snorts. "No. That's not going to happen. I'll die before you will if I have anything to do with it. I promise you that!"
Lorelai: “But I don’t want you to promise me that CC.” Lorelai looks disappointed.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "I know. But see, the difference is - I won't stay dead. You will. And I can't be having that!"
Lorelai: “You don’t stay dead?” She looks confused and a little suspicious, as if she thinks CC might be lying to her.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Mm Mm." She shook her head, confirming what she'd said and knowing she was saying too much - but she didn't care. Not with Lorelai. "If we die here in the city - we can fight our way back from the dead if we're strong enough."
Lorelai: “Wow. I didn’t know that. It seems kind of… unnatural. Death is supposed to be finite.” She was conflicted as to whether this news was good or bad and not being able to reconcile it one way or another she shrugged. “CC… Since I’m asking questions… What’s your real name? I’d like to be able to separate the woman I’m dating from the woman that… Well you know. You said that CC was your stage name. I’m not with her. I’m with you.” It made sense to her and she’d been meaning to ask for a while what CC’s real name was, so it seemed like the right time all things considered.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Well, we die when we're turned - and that doesn't stick for most of us. So why should any others. I guess." She smiled and shrugged, really not sure how it all worked and never having been interested in finding out. It just..... was. The next question however made her look darken and her nose curl. "I don't use my real name. There's nothing good there. But you can give me a name if you'd like? If you need that separation?"
Lorelai: She wanted her to name her? That didn’t seem right. CC wasn’t her pet to name. “I’m not sure I feel comfortable naming you like that. If you don’t like your real name, maybe you should choose one you like better?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "I did." She chuckled. "CC." But she understood what the woman wanted to do so had a think for a moment as to what might suit her. "How about Anastazja, or Ana?"
Lorelai: “Oh that’s very pretty. It suits you. Anastazja. Ana.” Lorelai nodded, placed her hands on her girlfriend’s shoulders and ran her fingertips down the length of her arms until she held her hands. “So Ana,” the new name was going to take a little getting used to, “are we all set to go out for dinner?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She gave her hands a gentle squeeze and nodded. "I will have to put my shoes back on though. And...." She looked down at herself and then at 'ell. "You ok with me going out like this?"
Lorelai: Lorelai smiled. “Are you comfortable going out like that?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Yup"
Lorelai: “Then I’m okay going out with you looking like this. I honestly don’t mind what you wear and I somehow doubt that you have an outfit that contains more material than that one…Do you?” she asked curiously, as if she sad yes, it was going to leave her with questions as to how she ended up wearing a tiny kimono the night they met.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She shook her head. "No, I don't really do clothes." Chuckles softly. "I've worked hard on my body, so I don't mind showing it off. I'm proud of it!"
Lorelai: “You do have a very nice body,” she admitted, stressing the word very as she looked her over. “Not that appearance is important to me Ana.” Lorelai shook her head and then squeezed Ana’s hand gently. “You can put your shoes back on now. Oh wait.” She leaned in and kissed her tenderly. “Now you can put your shoes on,” she grinned.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She kissed her back, gently squeezing her hands and then slid her shoes on and was ready to go after sliding her credit card into the top of her dress. "You don't like me being taller than you?"
Lorelai: “You’re more accessible when you are more my height. In the shoes you wear, you always tower over me.” Lorelai shrugged her shoulders and turned to open the door, one hand keeping a hold of Ana’s as she did. “It’s not that I don’t like you being taller than me. I’d just prefer if there were less height difference between us.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Well, maybe when I take you to buy new underwear, you can take me to buy new shoes?" She laughed, heading through the door and giving 'ell's hand a squeeze as they headed along the corridor that was full of noises, passed the upstairs bar and then on down the light up stairs. "Give me a minute ok? I need to let Ginger know I'm heading out for the evening."
Lorelai: Lorelai pondered why she needed new underwear, as she didn’t see anything wrong with the kind she wore. As Ana asked for some time to go and excuse herself, Lorelai nodded her head and let go of her hand. “I’ll wait here.” Her eyes roamed the crowd, something she didn’t usually do and settle on a couple of the women that were performing around the place. A shiver ran down her pine as she thought of Ana doing that and then told herself that it wasn’t Ana, it was CC.; for now that small distinction would work as she managed to push that thought to the back of her mind.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC smiled at her and pursed her lips in a kiss, but didn't move it in to make contact. Instead, she spun on her heels and walked over to the bar and got Ginger's attention. She explained she'd be out for the night, but any issues to call Leo and he'd sort it out. Ginger didn't know what it was with CC and Leo, but there was definitely something odd there. With her excuses given, CC headed back to 'ell and offered her her arm. "Shall we? Or are you enjoying the show?"
Lorelai: Lorelai took the arm that was offered to her and snuggled in close to her girlfriend, well as close as she could without fearing she’d pull her off balance. The shoes she wore were ridiculously high. “No. We can go.” Her words were a little too hurried, possibly showing that she wasn’t exactly comfortable in Silks; even if she did come almost every night, she always went directly to CC’s room, never stopping to look about her or take in the sights.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC smiled fondly at her and nodded her head, leading her out by the bouncers and into the street. "Now.... here's something for you. Do you want to walk normally to the restaurant, or would you like to see a little of what I can do?"
Lorelai: She blinked and considered what CC was asking her. “Won’t you get in trouble?” she whispered in reply.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "I don't think I can get into any more trouble than I'm already in, and it's still just you who knows. I don't think it can get worse in that respect. Honestly? I don't know how it all works. I just try and do what I'm told." Shrugs
Lorelai: Lorelai squeezed her hand gently. “Well if you are sure that you won’t get into any trouble,” her words were still soft in tone. “I’d love to see what you are capable of.” There was a glint of excitement in her eyes as she looked up at CC, waiting to see what the woman was going to do.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC looked around, but there were too many people around to go from here. Instead, she slipped down the alley beside the club and into the darkness with 'ell in tow. Once they were hidden from sight, she gently lifted the girl into her arms to cradle her and grinned. "Now, you're going to have to hold on tight...." And after she felt her arms tighten, she concentrated hard and set off running at a job that turned into a sprint, that turned into a burst of celerity across and around the city to stop somewhere in a park that was a block or two from the restaurant.
Lorelai: Lorelai let out a giggle as CC literally swept her off her feet; this was something she was going to have to get used to. When told to hold on tight, she did exactly that, wrapping her arms around CC’s neck, taking in her scent and smiling to herself as she did so. It was amazing to be moving across the city at such a speed and when they stopped Lorelai found herself a little short of breath and unable to speak. “I,” she gasped out. “Wow.” Lorelai squeezed CC tightly, more so enjoying the fact that she was still in her arms that anything else.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She smirked a little and squeezed her back. However, she remembered the girl's whole thing of not wanting too much physical contact, so gently set her down. However, she kept a hand in the small of 'ell's back to steady her in case she wobbled as she didn't want her to face plant. "Liked that did you? I'll give you a minute to find your feet and such" she chuckled softly.
Lorelai: She was highly unsteady on her feet and was shaking from head to toe. Without CC to steady her she would have ended up crumpled on the floor, and while the hand on her back was good, Lorelai couldn’t help herself from reaching out to grab a hold of CC’s shoulders. “How do you move so fast without your shoes catching on fire or something?” She was staring at CC’s feet as she tried to compose herself. “I couldn’t walk in the shoes you wear let alone run in them.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Practice" She said with a chuckle, moving her hands to 'ell's waist to hold her up. "On both counts. Walking, running, dancing, everything. And good muscle control too." She laughed
Lorelai: “I believe the phrase, ‘rather you than me’ is appropriate there,” she laughed, her legs still shaking a little. “I’m so sorry. This must be awfully frustrating for you being with a frail being like myself. I’ll be all right in a few minutes I’m sure.” Her hands tightened slightly on CC’s shoulders and then she looked up at her to give her an encouraging and apologetic smile.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She frowned at that and lifted her hand to cup the woman's cheek as she looked her straight in the eyes. "It's not frustrating at all. Don't you ever think that the fact you're human is a bad thing! You hear?"
Lorelai: Lorelai nodded, smiling a little brighter at CC as she told her being human wasn’t a bad thing. She wasn’t entirely sure if CC’s words were just platitudes or not but regardless she decided it was best to try and believe them. In an effort to change the subject and perhaps lighten the mood she replied. “Why did you say I need new underwear? You can’t possibly know that and even if you could… There’s nothing wrong with what I wear.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Oh my god woman!" She laughed and stepped away, taking her hand gently as she walked slowly through the park. "I saw your knickers when I first met you. They were horrendous!"
Lorelai: “You what? How? I didn’t.” Lorelai seemed shocked and was rambling, standing on her own two feet like as shaky as a newly birthed fawn. “My underwear is comfortable. Practical. Doesn’t matter what I what I wear as no-one sees it but me.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC chuckled again lightly. "When you tipped the water out. You bent over and the kimono rode up." She then ran her free hand down one of the see-through strips and pointed to her little G-string she was wearing. "This is comfortable, practical and looks amazing."
Lorelai: “Ana. I say this respectfully but that to me is not underwear. That is dental floss. Or cheese wire. I don’t see how that could possibly be comfortable.” She had one hand on the wall now, as she waited for the strength in her knees to return. “You look…” she paused to consider the word she wanted to use and then skipped right on over it. “But that is your way of dressing. Not mine.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She wasn't getting away with that one so easily. "I look what? Don't stop there now."
Lorelai: “I do not have the words to describe how you look Ana and different doesn’t seem to do you justice. I’ve never known anyone to dress as you do.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Well, that's cause I'm unique!" She chuckled. "And, that you grew up in the country in your tight community. I'm betting there's a LOT you've never seen or experienced before....."
Lorelai: Her footing was far more steady and sure now and she had no need to keep herself upright with the aid of anyone or anything. “You would be correct,” she said sweetly with a smile. “That is the main reason I’m here after all, to experience and learn new things.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Indeed. And I look forward to giving you and showing you all sorts of new things for you to experience! It will be so much fun!"
Lorelai: Lorelai reached out and took a hold of CC’s hand, looking down at it as she run her thumb over the back of it. “I’m not sure if I should be excited or nervous,” she said looking up into CC’s eyes. “I’ve only known you a few short weeks and I already feel more off balance than I ever have.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Are you still doing your meditations and centring..... things?" She didn't understand anything that 'ell had told her on that front really. But she'd listened.
Lorelai: “Oh yes. Twice daily. But I think I should try to use my lunch break more wisely and meditate then too. The more my abilities grow, the more weight I feel upon me. It’s probably very silly of me to say that, but that is how it feels to me.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: Nods her head. "You developed any powers yet? Managed to control them yet?"
Lorelai: “Oh yes. I am much better at controlling my energy now so that I can increase my speed and strength. I can jump higher and further than I ever imagined. I’m better able to sense plants and I feel as if I’m being called towards the mystical arts, but I haven’t even begun to walk along that path yet.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Wait. What? You can 'sense' plants?" She looked at her, not understanding that one at all. While the rest, she could guess at and had some experience in.
Lorelai: “It’s hard to explain but if I start to walk into the wilderness. I just know where to find what I’m looking for. If it’s growing nearby that is. I don’t know exactly why or how I know, I just know. Maybe I’ve learned to recognise the types of areas they grow in. This must all be very boring for you I am sure. I heard that vampires have a great array of gifts. Far greater than anything most sorcerers possess.” Lorelai squeezed CC’s hand. “Is this something we should be discussing out in the open? It seems more like a conversation for when we are alone.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Yeh, probably. Especially once we leave the park and join the street. More likely for people to spot us or hear us then. You see the streetlights? Just up ahead? But in answer - yes. There's a lot we can do, a lot to learn, a lot to develop and train in." She smiled and looked at the girl. "You know what you want to eat yet? What you hope is on the menu?"
Lorelai: Lorelai rolled her eyes, but she didn’t realise she did it; what she wanted wasn’t on the menu and her stubborn mind probably wasn’t going to let her physical desires get their way for quite some time. “I hear Chinese noodles and rice taste a lot better in the real world. “ Her stomach grumbled as if the thought alone was enough to make her hungry.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Ok.... 1 - why'd you roll your eyes?" She'd not missed it, she didn't miss much if she could help it. "And 2 - what do you mean 'in the real world'?"
Lorelai: “One,” she said mimicking CC’s phrasing, “I didn’t realise I’d done that. And two, that’s what we called the world outside of our community. The real world. Just because we lived in a sheltered community doesn’t mean we weren’t aware of it.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She laughed softly and drew the girl in close, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Well, you did. Why? And if they taste a lot better in the real word, that means you had to have something to compare it to? So, did someone try making them for you?"
Lorelai: She looped her arm around CC’s waste and briefly rested her head on CC’s shoulder. “We used to make them ourselves. But the people that stayed with us from time to time always said that nothing could compare to the real thing. We weren’t insulted of course. We were following recipes out of a book. And I don’t know why I did it. Sorry.” Lorelai knew a little of why but wasn’t ready to admit it, as she knew it would only encourage CC and she wasn’t ready to tempt the temptress in that way.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Ahhh, ok. Well, I've never been to China - so I don't know how authentic this place is. But the stuff they make is really good! There's no meat on the menu either. So that's ok right?" She'd never met a vegan before, and just presumed that they were the same as vegetarians. Just, a shortened word for them.
Lorelai: “No meat. No dairy. It should be fine, I’m sure. Chinese food is generally cooked in vegetable oil as opposed to animal fats. If what I’ve read is to be believed that is.” Lorelai’s hand suddenly froze on CC’s waist as she realised she’d been plucking at the strange material than to her seemed more like a net than something one wore. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…” she’d moved in front of CC and bent down to see if she’d ripped or damaged it in any way. “I’m not used to the feel of this kind of material,” she explained.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC stood still and ran her hand through 'ell's hair as she examined the dress. "And you thought you'd get a closer look did you?" She chuckled, not realising 'ell had thought she might have damaged what was virtually indestructible. "Yeh, this one is specifically vegetarian. It's why I picked it."
Lorelai: “How else could I see if I’d ripped it?” she asked flushing with colour as she realised just how little fabric stood between CC and the world. “Don’t you… get cold?” she asked, momentarily forgetting the conversation she’d had about bathing in hot water, etc. She straightened back up, now facing CC, her eyes filled with concern. She herself had left her shawl on the floor of the bedroom and hadn’t much noticed the elements, but that possibly had more to do with her companion keeping her mind busy and her cheeks more often than not flushed.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Oh, only way you're ripping this fabric is if you intend to, in a rush to get at what's underneath." She smirked and winked wickedly. "It's designed to stretch you see. No zips, no buttons, it's only on me with a bit of elastic and hope." She slowly turned a full 360 to confirm it. "And now and again I'll feel a chill, but nothing that would make me think I need more clothes. Clothes work by trapping your body heat in the fibres. I have no body heat to be trapped - so none or all - I'll be the same temp always."
Lorelai: Lorelai stood there speechless as CC pretty much forced her to look at and appreciate her form. There wasn’t much of the dress, so her body had to be what CC really meant her to appreciate. The image of her girlfriend standing naked in her room on that first night flashing in her mind and she had to blink a couple of times to get rid of it. “But…if you were to warm your body up,” she found her mind once more, “and then cover up, you could maintain that temperature longer, correct?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She nodded her head. "Yes. It would keep the artifical heat in. But with being dead and all, the cold doesn't bother me so I barely notice it all."
Lorelai: “Oh no,” Lorelai gasped. “Please don’t say that. I don’t like to think of you that way. You aren’t dead. You are different. Changed. ” It was her turn to cup CC’s face, something she did gently with both hands. “An altered being. Much like myself. More than what we once were. You are a beautiful being C…Ana.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC smiled at her. "As are you" And then leant in and softly kissed her
Lorelai: Lorelai felt almost dizzy from the kiss and her cheeks once more flushed with colour. CC was practically intoxicating to be around and the fluttering in her stomach left her with a pleasant queasy sort of feeling. “Thank you,” she whispered.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Mmmmm" She purred, wrapping her arm around 'ell's shoulders and opening the gate out of the park and into the street. "It's not too far away now. You feeling ok?"
Lorelai: Lorelai followed CC as she lead the way, with no clue of where they were or how she’d find her hotel when the dinner ended. “I’m very good. Great even. I’m very excited.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Good!" CC grinned happily and took the streets to the restaurant, just enjoying 'ell's company in silence, pulling her close and resting her head against the others. When they got to the restaurant, she stepped forwards and opened the door for her, helping her in and then pausing to let her take in everything around them. It was as if they'd been transported to China with the decor, the pond, the music, the smells. It was beautiful inside.
Lorelai: The silence didn’t bother her any, the way in which CC held her to her said more than words could have and made her feel wanted, loved even. It had been a while since Lorelai had, had this feeling and while she’d felt quite stupid earlier in the evening, she was rather happy that she’d admitted to feeling a little uneasy for having not seen CC the night before. She was musing over this as the door opened and every sense that she possessed became overwhelmed. She looked around in wonder and after soaking in as much as she could, she looked back to CC and smiled brightly, “This restaurant was a wonderful choice. It’s so very pretty.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Yeh, I like it. It's relaxing. I thought with the water effects and the plants and the music - it would be right for you? Help you... center yourself?" She was going to say more but the hostess came back at that point and bowed to them both before asking if it were a table for two. CC confirmed and asked for a table with a spinning centre that was close to the fish, and soon they were being taken over the little hump bridge to a table on a platform in the middle of the water. There were a few tables there, a couple of which were taken, but it was a wonderfully serene place. CC pulled out 'Ell's chair for her to sit, and then took her own place. "Anything you like on the menu. Don't hold back!"
Lorelai: Lorelai was at a loss for words and moved to the table feeling a little out of place, underdressed perhaps, she wasn’t sure what the feeling was but she was going to ignore it, as the place was perfect. When CC pulled out her chair, she wasn’t sure what was going on, but sat down and scooted it forward. She glanced over the menu and then reached out and took a hold of CC’s hand, taking a hold of her fingers and lightly brushing them with her thumb. “I wouldn’t know where to begin with this Ana. Perhaps you could choose for me?”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Ummmm. I don't know your tastes all that well. Tell me what you'd like to try tonight and I'll see if there's something like that on the menu?"
Lorelai: “I like most things. I have very eclectic tastes. My mother says I like a little bit of everything because I lack the ability to make any real choice in my life,” she laughed a little nervously, “She says I’m too open to the world.” Her laugh faltered and she went a little melancholy. “She wasn’t happy with my choice to leave.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She raised an eyebrow at that and couldn't help but wonder what that meant for them as a pair. Not if she were so, flighty. However, tonight was tonight and when the waitress came over to take their order, CC simply ordered one of everything on the menu - a small portion of, and yes she would pay for the full size portion - a couple of their imported beers and a jug of iced water.
Lorelai: The conversation went quiet and Lorelai began to wonder if she’d said something wrong. She withdrew her hand and placed it in her lap, looking around almost nervously as CC ordered a lot of food and a couple of drinks. Lorelai was rubbing one thumb up and down the other, her hands loosely clasped before her. “Did I do something wrong?” she asked. Lorelai crossed her ankles underneath her chair, her knees together, back straight; the girl did not look comfortable.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "What? No." She looked at her incredulously, not sure where that came from and grinned. "Why do you ask?" She turned her hand over, palm up, looking for the hand to be returned again.
Lorelai: “You didn’t say much after I asked you to choose for me. I don’t know. Maybe I said or did something wrong? Or perhaps I should have said or done something but didn’t? I’m not sure.” She tried to explain why she asked what she’d asked and suddenly felt very stupid.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She reached for the hand when it wasn't offered, picked it up and kissed the back of it gently with a smile. "Nope. Nothing wrong. I was just thinking about what to order is all. Hope you're hungry!"
Lorelai: All the anxiety she’d felt melted away as CC took her hand and kissed it. “Oh I’m hungry. Very hungry,” she nodded and pulled CC’s hand to her lips, mimicking her girlfriend by kissing the back of her hand. Her stomach hadn’t made a noise since they stood in the park but she was starving in more ways than one. She quickly released CC’s hand as the drinks were bought over to the table and shuffled slightly in her chair, bringing herself in closer to the table.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC thanked the waitress for her drink and then poured them each a glass of water before taking her beer. She kicked her shoes off and then crossed her legs under the table, and her foot accidentally grazed 'ell's calf. She noticed it, but she left it in place, enjoying exploring her leg gently. She picked up her beer and toasted the girl. "Cheers. To us!"
Lorelai: Lorelai felt CC’s foot practically caressing her leg and froze, looking around them to see if anyone else knew what her girlfriend was doing, all the time wondering if this was appropriate restaurant behaviour. She picked up the water, licked her lower lip as she realised how thirsty she suddenly felt and took a rather large sip of it, having copied CC’s toast.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She took a swig of her beer and enjoyed the taste of it. It wasn't one she'd tried before so took a moment to examine the label before setting it down again and looking around at who was nearby. "So then. What do you do all day - while I'm.... unavailable? Have you hobbies and such?"
Lorelai: “I work,” she placed the glass on the table, cupping it lightly with both hands. “Did I not tell you that already? I work at Razzle-Dazzle Threads, do you know it? We sell ice-skating outfits and accessories. I like it. My hobby you already know. I’d never have met you unless I hadn’t taken that particular hobby up, so I’ve been practising and getting better. Is that okay? Are you awfully disappointed in me for continuing along that path. I never take anything form anyone that cannot afford to lose it, and I will put the money to good use one day.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: She chuckled and shook her head. "God no. I don't care what you do to other folks. Their business is their business, and if they can't look after it themselves - then they deserve to be robbed. But, you get caught, or someone hurts you - Well, I'll get involved then. And they won't hurt anyone else again." She smirked, her eyes twinkling. "And you enjoy your job? I'm opening a shop myself. Selling outfits like I wear." She was careful not to mention the why of the outfit. CC.... was actually trying to be tactful!
Lorelai: “Oh yes. I am. I really enjoy speaking to people. It’s nice seeing so many different people all the time. At home I knew everyone and all their stories. Here everyone is new and they all have such interesting stories and lives. There’s a lot of…colour and noise here that I’ve never experienced before. I’d like to see your store when it opens. I’m sure you’ll have some interesting things in there too.” Interesting being the operative word in that sentence as Lorelai knew she wasn’t likely to find anything in there that she would want to wear herself.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: CC just about choked as 'ell said she'd have 'interesting' things in her shop - because that was an understatement! CC was going to have all manner of things in there from the world of 'adult entertainment' for sale, as well as the clothing and shoes and such. "Well, I'm looking forward to being there for all sorts of new experiences for you. It will be something special to see I think." She looked around as there was a noise nearby and found a couple of trays with plates being brought out and over. "Oh look! Our first few bits and pieces! This will be fun!"
Lorelai: “You want to be with me when I experience all these new things?” she asked having not really realised that, that was probably a given considering they were now dating. Of course she wanted to spend time with CC but she wasn’t sure exactly how much time the woman had on offer for her and it hadn’t even dawned on her yet that they practically lived in different time zones what with their schedules being so different from one another’s. Lorelai withdrew her hands from her glass and waited to see what CC had ordered. There was so much food, even if the portions were a little smaller than they would have been (not that Lorelai knew that, the portions looked perfectly acceptable to her as they were).
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Well, I don't have to be there for them all. But I'd like to hear about them, maybe be there for some of them? If that's ok with you I mean?" She thanked the waitresses for the starters and then looked at 'ell with a grin. "Help yourself!"
Lorelai: Lorelai smiled sweetly at CC. “I’d love for you to be with me for some of them, all of them even. Though…Then I would perhaps have to stop doing anything without you. That wouldn’t be very practical now would it?” she‘d confused herself as she’d spoken. “What’s that?” she asked changing the subject and pointing to the vegetable spring rolls.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Yeh.... maybe we need to switch your day into night and vice versa? Get you a night shift job? As if you'd moved to like, the middle of Europe or something." She laughed and ate some seaweed as she looked where 'ell was pointing. "Those are spring rolls. Crispy pastry stuffed with beansprouts, carrots, peas and sometimes broccoli - then deep fried."
Lorelai: “Oh that sounds interesting,” she said picking one up and laughing as she bit into it and the coating crackled and broke into smaller pieces, as she hadn’t expected that. “Mmm. It’s very…good,” she said reaching for her water and taking a large mouthful. “And hot.” She fanned at her mouth for a moment and then finished the rest of the spring roll more cautiously. “I’d miss the sun if I was never awake in the daylight hours. And you work too don’t forget,” she reminded CC. She wasn’t sure she liked the idea of changing her sleeping patterns only to be left alone while her girlfriend was off pleasuring some random person.
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Mmm hmm. But if you had a night shift, then you'd be working while I was working too. So there wouldn't be an issue." She smiled as she watched 'ell eating, taking surprising pleasure from it. Now she knew how Zo had felt when she'd cooked for her and then sat and watched her eat with a grin. She looked at the food and then reached out and took a pancake roll for herself. "You should try one of these. Same filling, but totally different coating."
Lorelai: She tried the pancake roll as suggested and then some of the crispy seaweed as she thought about what CC was saying. “But then that would be the same as me sleeping or you sleeping. We’d be busy. It wouldn’t give us any more time together…would it? Perhaps I’m missing something. Dating like this is all very new to me.”
Cinnamon Cherrywhip: "Well, if I take a night off work - like tonight - we're only going to have three hours together before you need to go to bed. But I've still got my whole 'day' ahead of me. Right? I've just woken up, you're about to head to bed." Frowns. "Does that make sense?"
Lorelai: “I guess but…” she swallowed hard not knowing if she should actually say what she was thinking. Then lowering her voice, she leaned in slightly and continued, “I’m not sure I’d want to be awake while you are working. It might…distract me too much.” She leaned back again and spoke normally once more. “I could always stay up late a couple of nights a week. Or perhaps refuse to do the early shift at work. That could give us more time together.”
