(This takes place after New To Town)

Eirik had been in the town for week and had gotten to know two woman. They both sounded like they might be hot. He hated that he could not see them but he did not mind. Looks mattered not to the young blind man. He walked down the street to the cafe that he had found close to the hotel he was living in with his dog. Today he did not bring her just his cane so he would not fall over. He knew the feel of each bill he had in his pocket having had the bank mark them in a different way for the domination. Each had a certain raised bump to show 1,5,10, and 20. He never had more than 100 on him mixed between the four. He had sent a voice text to Renee so he could get to know her better. He could tell she was different but that was why he had came to this city. There was many different things here. Walking into the Cafe he sat down and ordered a coffee and some chicken, potatoes, & okra. Soul food was always good.

Renee was at Nexus when her phone lit up on the bar in front of her. It was from Eirik. She had me him the other night, or had it been a few weeks, the time did not matter t her anymore. He wishes to meet her at a cafe not far from here. Normally to meet with a human in a place like this She would have to pretend to eat or fake that she did not like the food but Eirik was blind and she did not have to either of these around him. In truth she did not like food any more. Her food was blood and it was best warm and flowing out of a body but lately she was stuck drinking out of blood bags. She stacked up her papers and put them back in her office and grabbed her phone and some cash. She placed them in her bar and locked up the place for the night.

It did not take long for her to walk to the little cafe and it took even less time to spot him. She made her way over to him and sat down opposite him "Evening Eirik. How are you.?"

Eirik turned towards the voice and smiled. Even if he could not see her he knew she was there. "Hello Renee. I am good and you?" His plate had arrived and he felt to find where each thing was on the plate when he did he turned it so the chicken was to the right and the potato at the top. He picked up a fork after he found it and started on the Okra. This was all his favorites. He took one bite and then finished it before taking a sip of the coffee. [color=blue=]"How is your night going? I know it was probably strange to get my text out of the blue though I love the app on my phone. It helps me to get the text out even if I have had some people tell me that most words are weird as it comes through."[/color]

She smiles back at him though she knows he could not see if she had smiled or not. She watches him eat for a moment and when the waitress comes over to see if she needs anything she orders a cup of coffee. "My night is going well so far, though I am sure it will get far more interesting not that I am not doing paper work." She gives a small laugh to herself "Your text was not that bad. I've seen worse. Your text was a welcome distraction though."

She sees that he is eating 'soul food'. She remembers it from when she was younger and still living in America. "Are you from the south?"

He shakes his head "My mom grew up there before moving to Ireland with my dad. I was born in Ireland and raised there. I lost my sight though when I was 14 and on a hunting trip. We used older guns that cost me to loose my sight because the blast powder was to bright. My mom always made food like this as well as Irish dishes that I like. Though I never got into corned beef and Cabbage." He was honest on that one because the taste was not something he liked though potatoes he loved and ate lots of in his life and childhood. If his mom had ever made the corned beef he asked for a baked potato and that was what she gave him with ham or chicken.

"I am from the south is why I asked and the food reminded me of home." She says sweetly as the waitress comes with the coffee she had ordered. She pours sugar and creamer in it and mixes it up. She picks up the cup and holds it in her hands to warm them for a moment before placing it back down. "So if you are from Ireland what brings you here to Canada? I'd much rather be in Ireland then here." I give a playful laugh trying to keep the mood light while still trying to learn about my new friend.

He ate a piece of the chicken and when he was done he spoke "Well I heard a lot about this place and decided to come see it for myself. Well not see since I can't" He laughed at his words for it was true though should he tell her he had come here to die. It was true he had come to this town to die because he was dieing though no one knew that back home. He had found out from his doctor after a routine visit and told his doctor to not tell his family. He then packed his bag with what he could took some money and left with Lacy his dog.

She watches the boy for a moment. "Why come here on your own though? When I first met you, you had no place to stay and did not know your way around. I could understand if you had family near by but as you said you do not." It was odd for one so young and with his disability to be out in the world with no one with him. She admired him for wanting do things on his own even after he had become blind.

He nods his head and smiles at the woman since he could tell from where her voice was coming from. "Well to tell you the truth. I came here to die. The Dr gave me only weeks to live and for me it was not much. I figure that the line from Peter Pan is a great line. It is To Die would be an Awfully big adventure. I know I do not look like I am sick but Dr said I was. He said it was my heart which is weak. I told him not to tell my family and just told them I was going away. They where okay with it not knowing I am going to die. I changed my name before leaving as well because I do not want them to ever find me." He sipped his coffee and waited to see what the woman who was quickly becoming his friend would say. Yes his heart was weak and he decided to not give his family anymore problems.

She perks and eye brow as he says he is dieing. She plays with the spoon still in her coffee as he tells her whats going on. She sits back and thinks to herself for a moment. Most in her family had not had a chose in there turning. Hell she had been left with a huge scare in the middle of her chest from her turning. "I would like to show you something Eirik. Please come with me." The then stands and places money on the table.
