Curiosity Kills [Wolffyn]

by Granuaile (DELETED 5356)
As Granuaile dodged a pair of military guards and slipped between two sections of hastily erected chain fence her thoughts drifted back to a few days ago. Back to the beginning of her trip down the rabbit hole that ended with her current situation.
------
It had only been a few days ago that Granuaile had been curled up in bed, under several covers and dozing peacefully to recover from the previous night, when her phone went off on the bedside table. It lit up and played part of the X-Files theme song while its vibration made it rattle on the table. Granuaile groaned and reached out from under her covers, groping around blindly for the offending device. As soon as her slender fingers caught on the phone she grasped it and pulled it beneath her blanket sanctuary.
Another alert crashed her train of thought as it informed her she was due at work in 30 minutes. Her eyes bulged slightly and she swore as she started tossing covers off. Just a few minutes ago they had been a warm, dark, comfy fortress. Now they were a net dragging her down as she scrambled out of bed. Her foot caught in a sheet as she rushed and she tumbled forward onto the floor. She muttered a stream of seemingly unending curses and she untangled herself and rushed to the shower.
When she emerged later she had hastily dried her hair, which turned it slightly frizzy and curly, so she tucked most of it up into a quick bun except for her bangs which fell to frame her face. She slipped into her usual work clothes, a black striped, green corset and black slacks that clung at the hips and thigh but flared out from the knee down. Working in a tip-based environment had long since taught her to take every advantage into manipulating more money out of people. If that meant showing herself off a bit more for the men in the bar, so what?
Her phone went off again as she maneuvered her little blue VW through traffic. She spared a quick glance in its direction and when she saw the caller name she reached over and grabbed the phone, tapping answer and flipping on the speaker phone. The voice emerging was a smooth baritone, though it seemed slightly pitched with obvious excitement.
"Hey Matchstick! You ever get a chance to look into that place up in Canada I've been telling you about?"
Granuaile smiled a little and shook her head as she replied, "Yeah Joe, I did a little digging. If even a little of the rumors are true then there's definitely some spooky stuff going on up there. In fact I was just about to give you a call, can you let the others know that I won't be at the Screaming House this weekend?"
There was a slight pause on the other end before an answer emerged, "Sure... but why? I know ghost hunting is just an idle hobby for some of the team, but you've always made it to every site before. What are you up to?"
Granuaile grinned as she whipped the car into the parking lot behind the pub where she worked. She snatched up the phone and switched it off speaker as she got out and started for the building.
"Well, I think that little town just has to be investigated a little more. That was the other reason I was going to call actually, I wanted to borrow some of the team's equipment. Just the basics, one of the camera, an EMF meter, a digital recorder. We should have some spares I could use right?"
The voice on the other end had lost a good deal of excitement and instead his tone seemed transitioned into worry. Granuaile thought it was sweet the way Joe always tried to look out for her, she knew he'd been harboring a crush on her for a while but she couldn't bring herself to crush his hopes by explaining things to him.
"Yeah, we've got the equipment to spare... but maybe you shouldn't go up there alone. You never know what you could be walking into up there. Even if the reports about the supernatural turn out to be BS, there could be some kind of cult of vampire-wannabes or something. Why not wait and we can start saving up. Then we can take the whole team up there."
Granuaile paused at the pub's back door and shook her head as she spoke into the phone. "No, I want to go soon. I've just got a feeling about this place, call it a hunch. Don't worry though I'll be extra careful and if I get into trouble I'll call you up. You can be the Oracle to my Batgirl."
A sigh came through the line, but Granuaile could hear the grin behind it. "You know, some guys would be a little emasculated being put into a female role like that."
Granuaile couldn't help giggling a little as she replied, "Yeah, but those guys probably haven't crossplayed as a Barbara Gordon era Batgirl either."
Joe started to defend himself, "Hey! That was done on a dare and you know it!" but Granuaile kept on talking over his protests.
"Look, I gotta go I'm running late for work. I'll stop by tonight to pick up that equipment. Thanks Joe!"
Work had blurred by that night as she started to make plans for her trip, what she could take with her and what she'd have to pick up there. When her shift finished that evening she rushed over the Joe's place to pick up the equipment. He'd packed it all into a carry-on bag for her along with a tazer and a can of mace. He urged her to caution one last time as she smiled and gave him a big hug.
"Be careful up there Matchstick, you never know what you're getting into. I don't like you going alone. If you get into trouble you call me, no matter what time it is."
Granuaile kissed his cheek and had to bury a grin as she saw him blushing.
"Don't worry, I'll be careful. I can handle this on my own."
---
I think that was my biggest mistake. I was so sure I knew what I was getting into. This place is crazy though, there's word all over the place about the weird goings-on in this town. I've barely been here a day and I've seen some odd things myself. There's whole sections of the town just sealed off by the army with these hastily erected fences. Nobody in the local government or military will answer any questions with straightforward answers. Plus, the cherry on my frustration sundae, I'm stuck here with nothing but the equipment that Joe packed up thanks to the damn airline losing everything else. My ID, most of my money, my clothes, and everything else that was in my luggage. I'll be damned if this whole trip will be for nothing.
Once Granuaile was past the fence she dug the night-vision camera out of her bag and crept quietly down into the mausoleum ahead. The darkness around her was oppressive and the air was heavy. Like walking through a room thick with steam. She swallowed back a slight spike of fear as she forced her breathing to remain steady.
C'mon, this is just another spooky place to check out. It's not like you haven't been to dozens of haunted houses before.
There was a small scuffling sound off to her left which drew her attention, her head snapping around to face it's source. When she panned the camera over she caught a glimpse of a rat as it scurried away into the depths of the tombs. Granuaile took a single deep breath and braced herself as she ventured further in. One way or another she was determined to find out, tonight, whether or not any of the rumors about this place were true.

As was her usual routine these nights, Wolffyn made sure a fresh change of clothing was in the shed by the lake before heading to the sewer entrance to do some hunting. She barely glanced at the mausoleum, with the military presence there it was just an eyesore.
An eyesore that was difficult to ignore when one could see it from one's own front door. Well, it was actually Serenity's door but Wolffyn had her own room at the estate and called it her home plus Serenity's family was now her family. And if Serenity didn't complain about the mausoleum? It wasn't Wolffyn's place to do so.
Wolffyn spent a few hours in the sewer tunnels, ignoring anyone with clothes on. It was the naked hunters that put up the best fight. At first seeing all that bare flesh had put Wolffyn off fighting them, not wanting to risk touching strange naked bodies. But that passed quickly enough once she saw how well trained they all were in fighting. And they had powers. Soon enough the little redhead had gotten over her squeamishness about their nudity and now she looked for it, it was a sign that she was going to get to enjoy a good fight. But they were even becoming less of a challenge for her skill these days.
Several severed heads later, Wolffyn had gotten bored. And found herself at the entry to the catacombs. She hadn't been in there for a good long while. Maybe she could find some new swords or ritual knives. And she hadn't killed a mooncalf in a ages. With a shrug, she went ahead and went in. She could always tome home later if she got tired and didn't want to walk through the sewers again.
She passed quite a few ancient zombies before finding a mooncalf and the battle with the ugly monster was over far too soon. Not finding any others in the catacombs and picking up only some crappy rusty daggers, Wolffyn reasoned that there could possibly be better picking in the mausoleum, now that the only way in was through the sewers there was a better chance of less competition.
Going in the north entrance, Wolffyn passed by the lair that she had at on time owned and shared with Jonah. She had sold it after he had vanished and then come back acting as if he didn't even know her. She tried not to think about it or him as she hurried away from it and the memories it conjured up.
All the ghosts from her past were soon forgotten however, as a new and very real nightmare stepped into her path. By far the most ugly mooncalf Wolffyn had ever seen towered over her, with a misshapen head, too many arms (several of which were not in the right places), and jaws filled with teeth like a shark. Wolffyn didn't flinch. She grinned ear to ear and fired several shots into it's face and then starting hacking off it's limbs one by one...

The depths of the mausoleum seemed to stretch out before Granuaile like some great yawning void. Her fear had become a restless beast gnawing at the pit of her stomach, one that only grew more agitated with each step. Despite her best attempts to stay calm her heart was beating running doubletime and a few beads of nervous sweat ran down her brow, even with the chill air of the tombs.
She took a deep breath and shifted the camera to her left hand as she unzipped the small black bag hanging from her shoulder. She felt a cool shiver run down her spine as she rummaged around in the bag blindly, groping each item in turn as she searched for the EMF meter. When her fingers finally bumped into the desired item she grasped her prize tightly and drew it out. Her left thumb flicked off the switch on the camera even as she flipped on the EMF meter. The screen of the meter had soft red backlight that didn't help her nerves any. The glow it gave off cast a malevolent glare on her features as she watched the numbers dance about.
Granuaile slowly paced off her current surroundings, lifting the meter this way and that as she went. She was so involved in the readings that the didn't notice the dismembered corpse until she stumbled over a leg. Slipping the meter back into her bag she flicked the camera back on and pointed it down at the object she'd tripped over. She couldn't help but gasp softly as camera's display revealed the limb she'd bumbled across. She lifted the camera and zoomed in on the path ahead which was, to her shock, littered with bodies that appeared to have been cut to pieces. Some parts seemed to have a good deal more flesh that others, not looking quite as old. In fact, some of them hardly even looked human misshapen as they were. She bit her bottom lip as her thoughts raced, trying to think of anything that would explain why these bodies were here, rather than in their proper tombs.
Her train of thought was derailed shortly as a pair of gunshots shattered the silence of the mausoleum. Sounds of a scuffle emerged from the next room ahead and as she crept up to the archway that led to the next portion of the mausoleums the beast in her belly attacked anew. Fear clawed at her willpower and she froze for a moment, hesitant to lift the camera and seek out the source of the sounds. Her skin crawled and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. Whatever was up ahead the sounds it made seemed monstrous. Finally, she summoned up all the courage she could muster and the raised the camera. All that courage ran screaming at the sight that greeted her on the camera's screen.
Up ahead, perhaps 20 feet away, was some sort of... thing.
What?! What the hell is that? What the ******* hell is that?!!!
Granuaile stood frozen in fear as she filmed the hulking nightmare fuel before her. So stunned was she that it took several minutes for her to realize she wasn't alone with the beast. There was a young woman squaring off with the creature and, as Granuaile was even more shocked to realize, it seemed she had actually been fighting the thing.
Who? ... What? ... What the hell?! Who is that and what the hell does she think she's doing?! That thing is going to tear her apart! Then after a slight pause she blinked and raised a brow, Is that a damn sword? Who the hell runs around with a sword?!
Granuaile's heart raced in her chest as she continued to record the battle taking place before her eyes, a sight she could scarcely believe. A part of her felt that she should call out a warning to the crazy woman, tell her to run before the creature killed her. However the woman seemed to be holding her own just fine. In fact it was starting to look like she was the cause of the carnage Granuaile had passed on the way in. The evidence of her skills with that sword surrounded her in the form of limbs that she'd apparently cleaved right off the monster.
How in the world is she doing this? She's like a blur on the camera!
Then another sound thrust itself into the din of the battle.
BEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEP.
Granuaile gasped and a curse rushed out in a soft whisper, "Son of a donkeyfaced whore!" The battery light on the camera flashed following the alert and warned her of it's dwindling power. She hurriedly rummaged around her bag, seeking the backup battery. Once she found it she quickly switched it out for the dieing one. She flicked the camera back on and held her breath, afraid that one of the combatants may have heard the camera's tone.

An electronic beeping distracted her briefly but the battle fury was upon Wolffyn so she ignored it for the moment and kept all her focus on the fight. The last of her opponent's arms reached out and raked long claws across her chest but the cuts were minor, damaging her shirt more than her skin. She growled and chopped off that arm as well.
Pushing forward with her attack, Wolffyn's sword swung up in a high arch and then cut deeply into the side of the mooncalf's head. Blood splattered out, covering Wolffyn and the wall of the crypt. Unable to continue fighting, the huge beast tried to stagger away but Wolffyn was quicker on her feet and caught up before it could get very far. One last finishing blow and it was over, one more monstrous corpse littering up the mausoleum floor.
Someone else was here, someone human. Her vampire ears had caught a softly muttered voice and she could hear breathing. Vampires don't breathe except for show. And over the stench of the dead mooncalf, Wolffyn smelled human blood. If she focused, she could hear thee beat of a human heart. After her recent bouts of being murdered for being spotted by humans, Wolffyn wasn't about to take any chances. She turned around slowly, bright green eyes scanning the shadows until she spotted a woman... holding a camera.
Her upper lip curled up in a sneer as she snarled and rushed forward to grab the camera away from the human, smashing it against the wall in one move. The woman's body followed the camera and Wolffyn held her pinned there by her neck.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you."
Not that it would matter whatever the other redhead had to say. She had seen too much and Wolffyn wasn't about to risk being exposed to humans any more than she already had been.

Granuaile had to stifle another gasp as she saw the creature reach out to rake its attacker's chest. She reached into her bag and pulled out her tazer, but it soon became apparent her help wasn't needed as the woman chopped off the offending arm. A closer look at the warrior woman revealed that she didn't appear to be all that hurt, but the state of her shirt brought a flush of color and warmth to Granuaile's neck and cheeks.
God there's something very wrong with me that I would even notice that at a time like now. Mind, get yourself out of the gutter.
Granuaile took a deep breath before returning her attention back to the fight, only to notice it was reaching it's brutal close. The woman's sword swept clean through the beast's head and sliced off a sizable portion of it. As the thing started to stagger back away from the woman she could almost feel sorry for it. The fight had been so one-sided it was clear that the creature never stood a chance. The final blow hit and it was all over.
Then the woman's attention seemed to shift. Granuaile could see the woman's nostrils flare slightly on the camera's screen, like a dog trying to catch a scent. The woman's head tilted ever so slight as if she were listening for something. It all made Granuaile's heart race, it was almost like the woman could tell she was there despite the darkness around them. A suspicion that was eerily confirmed when the woman suddenly turned to look Granuaile's direction. Her instincts screamed to run.
In a blur of motion and the sound of plastic and metal shattering everything changes. Suddenly the mysterious woman is right in front of Granuaile and there's no room for her to run. Before Granuaile could do much more than open her mouth to speak she was hit with an explosion of pain and her breath burned it's way down a constricting airway. The woman had Granuaile's neck in an iron grip. Her now empty camera hand swatted futilely against the woman's arm, unable to get a grip. One phrase burned it's way through the haze.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you."
Granuaile's heart was thundering in her chest, as if to burst from terror. Her eyes welled with tears blurring vision that was already narrowing as black started to creep in around the edges. Her strength was fleeing at an alarming rate and the tazer slipped from her grasp before she could try anything with it. With a rattling breath Granuaile tried to croak out a response. Her wavering voice was full of desperation.
"Gck... P...Puh... Please. Please, all... I wanted... was the truth. I don't... know anything. Don't know you. I ca... can just go away... not tell anyone."
Granuaile tried her best to blink away her tears and look into the other woman's eyes, she could see them eerily well in the dark and was struck by how similar they were to her own in color. She struggled to take in a deep breath.
"P...Puh... Please I... I don't want... to die. Just needed... to know the... truth."

At first all Wolffyn could see was red. Her mind was flooded with fury. Not only had a human seen her fighting with unnatural strength and agility, the woman had been FILMING her! And even though Wolffyn had destroyed the camera, there was no way to know if this human female had already uploaded it to you tube or something. Her grip on the human's throat tightened in her anger but then lessened as the woman tried to speak. Tears were welling up in her eyes and Wolffyn rolled hers. The sign of weakness both enraged her and annoyed her. Both because she despised weakness and also due to the fact it actually got to her.
Wolffyn had once been human. She didn't have many memories of that time but she knew she had been. And then Blake had violently attacked her, turned her for who knew what reason, and abandoned her. She wished she could remember, something. Anything. But he had refused to give her answers and she was done with any attempts at trying to get any.
But her thoughts going in that direction gave her pause. She certainly couldn't allow this human to leave unharmed and go blabbing about what she had seen. Wolffyn had taken more than enough trips to the Shadow Realm. IF Wolffyn had the power to, she would have enthralled her. But she didn't. That left only one other option besides killing. And she wasn't keen on the idea. The last thing she needed was to have to add someone else on her list of people to have to worry about. And it wasn't as if she had been given a good example of how to be a good sire from her own sire.
But then again... she had gotten lucky enough to find Serenity who took her in and helped to teach her and made her feel welcome as a member of the Yue'Shi family. A low growl started from deep inside the small redhead as she went back in forth in her mind about what to do with this human woman.
"There truth is out there, huh? Who do you think you are? Agent Scully?"
The words were hissed out in a harsh whisper as Wolffyn's grip on the human tensed again for a brief second.
"You have to realize that I can't trust you to not tell anyone what you saw. And that means it's a choice between my life or yours. What would you choice?" Wolffyn grinned up at the human as she held her pinned to the wall, letting her fully see her long pointed fangs.
"So I have to kill you. It's that simple. It's the way things are now. Maybe in the past I could have let you go but the risk is too great now."
She didn't bring up the other option just yet. She was still trying to get a feel for this human, to 'size her up'. And it just sounded way to corn ball to say to her; 'join me or die'.

Fire poured down Granuaile throat as she struggled to force herself to breath despite the other woman's iron grip. A fog of deprivation started to settle on her mind and suddenly she noticed her eyes kept sliding away from the other woman's gaze. An icy lump twisted in her gut as true terror began to seep in. She could feel consciousness slipping away no matter how much she grasped at it. So confused was she that it didn't register with her right away that the growling that she heard was coming from her assailant. She was having trouble focusing on much at all.
"There truth is out there, huh? Who do you think you are? Agent Scully?"
Her assailant's mocking question gave Granuaile just the figurative slap in the face she needed. Her eyes blinked, then snapped wide as a rush of adrenalin finally let her grab hold of wakefullness. She coughed twice softly before working her way up to spitting at the other woman's feet. If she was going to die here, which was seeming more and more likely, she'd be damned if she would be mocked first.
A fresh burst of pain flooded Granuaile and peppered her vision with pinpricks of light. Granuaile glared weakly down at the woman holding her up in the air.
Fangs. She, she has fangs. Oh god. Ohgodohgodohgod. The speed, the strength, being able to see down here; it all makes sense now. She's a, a vampire. What do I do? There's got to be some way out of this...
Granuaile lifted her chin as she rasped out a reply as best she could. Her voice, which was normally soft and silky, was rough and gravelly.
"I'd choose something that... proved I had some semblance... of humanity left. I'm no Scully and I know... this all isn't just some fantasy like on a TV show. Obviously, there's way more... out there than... I'd imagined. If," Granuaile gasped for air, "If you are... what you seem to be. Then... you have... another option."

The sound of the human's rapidly beating heart seemed incredibility loud in Wolffyn's ears, overwhelming even the woman's struggled breathing. One of Wolffyn's eyebrow's shot up in surprise when her captive sent a wad of spit towards Wolffyn's feet and the vampire couldn't help but chuckle. So the human had some spirit. The grip on the woman's neck was loosened just a touch more as the vampire's curiosity about what the female may have to say grew.
Unfortunately, the first words out of the other redhead's mouth only pissed Wolffyn off again. Her growls got deeper and more menacing as she glared at the human with fire dancing in her green eyes. The orbs shifted suddenly; becoming the dark brown, almost black, eyes of a Honey Badger and they bore into the woman unblinkingly.
"What do YOU know of MY humanity???" Wolffyn snarled, shaking the helpless female fro emphasis. "Showing some so called 'humanity'..." The word was said as snidely as possible; "Got me hunted down and murdered by own kind, by my own sire! TWICE!"
Wolffyn felt a rant coming on and shivered in fury as she fought the urge to vent out her bitterness to this absolute stranger. And that's when it dawned on her that this might be a golden opportunity. A chance to prove to everyone that she was better than him in every way. Regaining self control, Wolffyn's eyes went back to 'human' again as she pursed her lips thoughtfully. Blake had been **** as a sire, never taught her a single thing. Then dared to complain about her to anyone that would listen. If he didn't like how she had turned out, he had no one to blame but himself. But hypocrite that he was, he went around asking like he was Nox's gift to fledglings everywhere.
Almost gently, Wolffyn lowered the human female until her feet could touch the floor of the mausoleum again but her grip on the woman's throat stayed unbreakable.
"I have another option, you say. And what exactly do you think my other option is?"
A slight grin curled up one corner of Wolffyn's lips as she wondered if the human was about to actually ask to be turned. It would be amusing to hear what the other redhead thought that really meant or if she was one of those freaky fan girl types that believed too much of what they saw on a movie screen.

No sooner than Granuaile began to think she'd said the wrong thing did the other woman begin shaking her about, like a dog worry a rat. Her eyes started to roll back in her head and she could only gasp and gag as it felt like her brain rattled in her skull. This had the unfortunate effect of blocking out most of the other woman's rant, but Granuaile caught bits and pieces and the woman's tone told her the rest. Granuaile almost feared that she would meet her end here and now, her neck broken from the treatment she was enduring. Then it stopped, the other woman's temper was like a a flare. It burned hot and bright but died nearly as quickly as it began.
Granuaile greedily gulped down several deep breaths once her feet touched the ground again. The other woman's grasp loosened enough to allow the air to pass again without pain. Instead the rush of oxygen after such deprivation made it sweet and soothing as ice cold honey soothing her burning airway. When she finally had regained a portion of her senses back she nearly loosed a few venomous words on her assailant, but she bit her tongue and forced herself to stay silent. Then she heard the other woman's question, "I have another option, you say. And what exactly do you think my other option is?"
Granuaile took one more slow, soothing breath as she considered her words before replying. The other woman's lips were starting to curl into an odd little smile that she somehow found a little disturbing.
"Look... Like I said before, I'm not crazy. I know this is no movie or tv show, I get that there's real weirdness and danger out there. Apparently, even more than I thought after what I just saw. I came hoping to find a ghost or two, instead there's military everywhere, weird creatures, and you. You're, no offense, freakishly fast and strong. Way more than a woman your size and build should be. Then there's also your little overbite you've got going on."
Granuaile paused for a moment and bit her lip as she gathered her thoughts.
"You're a Vampire right? A real one apparently, and if there's one thing that pretty much all vampire lore agrees on going back to Stoker and beyond into ancient Greece, Rome, Mesopotamia, and whatnot... it's that vampires can create more of their own one way or another. The method tends to vary, sometimes it's just the effect of being bitten, something it requires a trading of blood, sometimes it even requires a person to die first..."
Granuaile reached up and brushed dusty, sweat matted hair out of her face and sighed softly, "Sorry, I'm rambling, I do that when I'm nervous. Regardless, I'm willing to bet you can make me like you. If my choices are an eternity of nothing or coming back as a vampire, I'd prefer that last one if it's all the same to you."
Granuaile tried to manage a grin, but it was a weak thing compared to the fear raging within her.
"Besides, if you make me into a vampire I'd owe you and your secret becomes my own. It'd be in my own best interest to stay quiet. Hell, that's assuming you won't have some kind of power over me once I'm turned to force me to stay quiet, which isn't unprecedented... Sorry, rambling again. Look, I don't need to go screaming to the world all this towns little secrets, for me the search for the truth is more personal. I just... need to know what's out there."
Granuaile lifted her chin and her eyes, green as fresh spring grass, locked on to the mysterious woman before her.
"So, either kill me or not already dammit. I'm not going to sit here and beg and I'm not going to give you any kind of satisfaction pissing myself in fear."

Still holding steady on the woman's neck, Wolffyn tilted her head to one side and blinked and the other redhead started talking... A LOT. The human was speaking quickly, clearly in a panic, but Wolffyn was able to catch enough to follow her thoughts. It appeared that the woman fancied herself a 'ghost hunter'. Wolffyn had to stifle a laugh at that. She had seen many unbelievable things in Harper Rock but unless one was counting Wraiths, never any ghosts.
She paused in her thoughts to ponder that. Perhaps wraiths... WERE ghosts? It would certainly explain a lot , at least here where the tear was. But what of all the other supposed hauntings that took place all over the globe. She would have to ask her own Wraith, Fionn, about it. Still unwilling to share details with Wolffyn about her human life and family, the spirit that claimed to be that of her dead brother might be more forthcoming on a more general subject.
Wolffyn frowned but gave a slight nod as the human mentioned Wolffyn's strength and speed. But when the other redhead mentioned Wolffyn's 'overbite', she actually laughed out loud.
"Then there's also your little overbite you've got going on."
A low but deep growl began again in Wolffyn throat, as soon as the laughter quickly died and she tightened her hold on the human's neck once again. Warning given, the tighter grip was loosened once again as quickly as it had began and eyes gleaming, Wolffyn leaned closer in both an intimidating fashion and an interested one, curious as to what what come out of this human's lips next.
At the human's words, Wolffyn's upper lip curled back into another snarl but she didn't make any move or sound. Ancient history of Vampire kind was a subject of interest to her for obvious reasons and at one time her and her friend Maddra, Jonah's childe had made an effort to interview all the Elders and document what they knew. And although Wolffyn doubted that this human female could know more than a Vampire Elder centuries old, she might have some clues. It was apparent that the woman had done a lot of research into the subject by what she said.
Wolffyn's hold staying firm but not truly dangerous thus far, one redhead stared unblinking into the eyes of the other. Green eyes very much like her own. But the similarity was lost on Wolffyn. She had more going on in her head than paying attention to the appearance of this human who had caught her behaving supernaturally.
"Sorry, I'm rambling, I do that when I'm nervous. Regardless, I'm willing to bet you can make me like you. If my choices are an eternity of nothing or coming back as a vampire, I'd prefer that last one if it's all the same to you."
Almost convinced that turning this human was the best course of action, Wolffyn had to scoff at the woman as she once stated that she 'had to know what was out there'. She refrained from more x files jokes however, but a short and unfriendly bark of laughter escaped Wolffyn's lips as she smirked up at the taller but much weaker human female.
"Some questions are better left unanswered..." Wolffyn hissed so quietly that the other redhead might not have even heard.
"So, either kill me or not already dammit. I'm not going to sit here and beg and I'm not going to give you any kind of satisfaction pissing myself in fear."
Wolffyn smiled wide at that remark. For someone who claimed to be nervous and WAS quite plainly scared out of her mind.... ? This human had balls. She clearly had a lot of spirit and fire in her. The vampire's decision was chosen, just like that. No weighing of the reasons or questioning of the consequences. She just knew, in her gut, that this female was a kindred soul and worth giving a chance at life as one of the so called 'undead'.
Without warning, Wolffyn's knee slammed up into the woman's gut and pinned her to the wall as Wolffyn carefully sheathed her beloved sword and released the hand that had been holding the human's neck. A dagger from her boot was drawn out with lighting speed and Wolffyn used it to cut her own wrist as her leg still held the human female in place.
Blood dripping from her one wrist Wolffyn, replaced the long bladed knife in t's place. And then she brought her leg down off the other redhead, even as Wolffyn's unwounded hand quickly went back about the human's neck.
The hold this time was a choke hold, one that would surly cause death. But it left enough room for Wolffyn mouth to find the human's throat and bite deeply. Her bleeding wrist came up to meet the woman's lips. It was up to her if she drank Wolffyn's blood or not.
Although the hits that Wolffyn had taken in the sewers earlier that night and from her battles with mooncalves more recently had been slight, she hadn't fed yet that eve and so she was able to quickly drain the human dry. She let the dead weight of the redhead's body down gently and then let it rest on the floor of the mausoleum as she gathered up what was left of the woman's camera and anything else she could see that might be traced back to either one of them. Once everything was neatly tucked away, she gathered the still warm body of the female up in her arms and teleported both of them to the shed outside Lunar Lake Estates.
Quickly cleaning up, Wolffyn made sure that the human's body wasn't going to be dripping any blood that would make a mess in the house and then made her way inside the family home, casting claim adobe on the first floor as she went up the stairs. If this human did arise as a vampire, at least she would be contained to the second floor until Wolffyn could assess the situation and alert Serenity.
Going into her own room, Wolffyn gently placed the body into her own bed even as Winnie yipped at her feet for some attention. Too tired to worry about it, Wolffyn grabbed up the pug and then lay down next to the human's body, cuddling her pup as she drifted into a weird dream like state. Odd jumbles of images were racing through her head, seeing herself waking up next to a stone cold corpse in some visions and seeing herself waking up to the new responsibility of being someone's sire in others.
