New to the Town (Open)

Eirik was new in the town and had just gotten on the train his seeing eye dog leading the way. He walked the streets and could tell it was dark. As they walk down the street he listens to the sounds of the city. "Lacy can you find us a good hotel?" Yes he had asked his dog to find the hotel since he could not see a thing. His phone was chirping but he was not going to answer it. He had left his home to come here. Planes and trains brought him to Harper Rock. He was actually here to find a new life because he was tormented in this one. He had heard many different things about this city so he had come here.

Klara was moving quickly on the streets. The sky was overcast and blocked much of the light of the moon which helped to conceal her movements. The temperature was bitterly cold thankful for the side-effect of her species when it came to the cold. She pulled her coat tighter out of force of habit as a gust of wind blew past her. She stayed to the shadows of the building as much as possible without looking suspicious. She was looking for a new place to hide while at the same time trying to figure out where Doc was. He was winning their bet and she wasn’t about to let that happen.

The woman pulled her cell out texting Simon letting him know where she would be staying tonight. Not paying attention to where she was going she didn’t notice the dog or the obviously blind mine holding its leash and ran into the man.

“Oh my gosh, are you ok? I’m so sorry are you ok?” she quickly asked the man. “I didn’t see you or your dog. I guess I shouldn’t walk and text, I’m a danger to everyone!” she joked.

Klara assessed them both quickly and both seemed to be fine and no worse for the wear. She noticed immediately that he was human, though she could use a drink now, it was too public right here. The man didn’t know how lucky he was. With the wounds she had, she could use some fresh blood but it wasn’t worth breaking the masquerade.

Eirik looked at the woman if you could say that since he had turned towards the voice after he had been run into. Lacy had started to move him over but it was a bit late so they got hit. He did not scold the dog though and smiled. "It is okay Miss. Walking and texting is better than driving and texting. At least walking the accident is not fatel." What he said was a fact because he had heard so much about texting and driving. He did not know this woman but he smiled anyway before asking. "Would you happen to know a good motel or hotel that is close by so I can rest for the night. I am new in town."

Renee is out for the evening taking Pan and River for there evening walk. So much is running through her head right now. So one has been trying to curse her and that needed to be stoped but first she needed to know who, but for now she needed to take care of her babies. She walks by a man with a lovely dog asking for a hotel to stay at. Before she can stop herself she answers the mans question "There is one a few blocks down this way. It's animal friendly and not a bad price. There is a also a loung close to it that is also pet friendly." She quicly covers her mouths with her own hand. "I'm sorry for budding in on your conversation."

Klara was trying to focus on the man, his scent driving her to distraction. “Not here,” she whispered to herself looking at the man who seemed no worse for the ware. Thank goodness the dog wasn’t growling at her either. She’d noticed sometimes that seemed to happen when she walked past them, pesky creatures that they were. Seemed like once they were on her scent they wouldn’t leave her alone but rarely that little slice of heaven rarely happened.

As Klara was thinking of a good and safe place to direct this gentleman to and figuring the only kind thing would be to take him directly to the hotel since he was blind she tried to think of something close. A woman approached them as he asked and answered before Klara could say a word. She had thought to send him to a different one but she was well aware of the one she spoke. Looking at the woman she smiled, “Its ok. I’d totally forgotten about that one.”

Turning to the man she held her hand out and found his to offer a handshake. “Hi I’m Klara and you are?” gripping his hand firmly and smiling at the lady. “You would be?” looking at both people. “The one she spoke of indeed does allow pets but since yours is a service pet pretty much anyplace has to allow it in I think. The one she told you of is clean, a fair price or for a bit more you can find a little plusher place a little further down.”

Looking at Renee to see if she had anything further suggestions that she had forgotten about waited for his answer. “I’d be honored if you’d allow me to walk with you to make sure you find your way. I’m sure in a new city having a pair of eyes can’t hurt.”

He had heard the new woman when she walked up and nodded this would be an interesting city. "Thank you both and someone to show me the way would be nice. Maybe though we should know each others names. I am Eirik Loki and this is Lacy. She is my best friend it would seem in this world." The dog looked from one woman to the other and soon was growling lowly at the one. For somereason the dog did not like the frist one that had shown up it was as if she senced danger in that one.

(sorry it took so long could not think))

Klara looked at the dog and stared at it only to receive another menacing growl. If it hadn’t seen a service dog she would’ve just killed and used the boy for what she needed. She sent a telepathic message to the dog to stop the growling or she would kill him. The dog stood at attention but calmed a bit at the threat.

“Hi I’m Klara. I’d be willing to take you wherever it is you’d like to go and make sure you get settled for the night.”

Those that knew the woman well would have wondered why she didn’t just drain this one of all his blood. She wasn’t sure herself but he seemed like a nice person, maybe it would be ok to let this one live for a while.

Looking at the dog once again she asked, “Is that that safe? I mean it keeps growling and we’re just standing here.”

"I'm Renee and these two are Pan and River." Both dogs gave a bark at the sounds of their names. Pan's being one of a small dog and River's of a very large one. She looked to Lacey who was growling at Klara "Some dogs just don't get along with some people. My two don't seem to mind too much though." She gives a smile and a wink to the woman. "We could all walk together. If nothing else the conversation could be enjoyable."

Eirik reaches a hand down and places on the dogs head "Hush Lacy. I am sorry she only does that when she senses danger to me. She is not only a good seeing eye dog but a guard dog keeping me safe." The dog stopped growling and sat down beside Eirik. If he could look at both women he would but he listened to them both and nodded "It is nice to meet you both. I would like an escort to the hotel. I need a shower and sleep before going out tomorrow to find a job that will work with someone that is blind. I can do things even though many think I can not." He was good a cleaning and if the computer had the raised letters on the keys could type 35 wpm with few mistakes but that was if the paper he was writing was how he could read it. He held out a hand for either of the woman to take so that they could lead him to the hotel.
