Memory Lane

Concept/Plot
  • Your character is taking a walk down memory lane. This should be literal, as in they are taking a walk around the city and recalling five specific memories. These memories do not need to be super exciting, they can be as simple as walking past the station and remembering the day you first stepped off the train (if your character did not grow up in Harper Rock) or passing their high school and remembering the day they graduated (if they did grow up in Harper Rock). The point is to relive five Harper Rock memories.

Participation Rewards
  • 2000 RPP to ALL players that finish their RP before the deadline AND meet all the criteria listed below.
  • 10 karma will be given to ONE character. This person will be randomly selected by a dice roller. Only those that finish their RP before the deadline AND meet all the criteria listed below will be eligible to win this prize.

Criteria
  • All threads should be posted to the 'Path Hardcore Ruleset (IC)' board. The Hardcore Ruleset Guidelines may be ignored for the purpose of this competition.
  • Put [Pathday 3] in the title.
  • You must make a minimum of 10 posts per person to qualify for the rewards.
  • Each post must be a minimum of 250 words long.
  • Each character must describe a minimum of 5 memories throughout the thread.
  • You cannot post more than one memory per post.
  • Please number the memories as you go. Typing ((Memory 1)) at the end of the post should be sufficient.
  • You may roleplay alone, with a partner or as a group, however live transcripts will not be counted for the purposes of this competition. Traditional (long-form) roleplay only. And each character must meet the criteria to be included.
  • You have 1 week to complete the roleplay thread.
  • Post here when your thread is complete.
  • You may enter with more than one character.
  • One entry per character. (Even if RPing with others, you are individually entered in the prize draw).
  • Karma will be awarded to the account name drawn.
  • Deadline for completion is 9pm GMT/3pm CST on Sunday 30th March.

Although this will not be a GMed (game mastered) event, I will ask one or two of the mods to keep an eye on it to look out for power playing and such.

Possibly stupid question, but we will get our normal rpps for posting as well as the bonus at the end, yes?

Yes. The event board gives the same RPP as Turning and Streets does. So the 2000 RPP would be a bonus on top of that.

I have a question. I planned on doing a majority solo thread but there are a few characters that who are also from Harper Rock that have agreed to intertwined history with mine. Because of the criteria

If I wanted someone to make a cameo appearance for a single memory, do they have to make 10 posts for that memory??

For example, Madison's first few memories are going to be as a child growing up in Harper Rock. Grade school through Middle school are going to be solo. But then when she got to high school, she met Alexandrea. I was going to ask Alex to participate in that section of the thread for a specific memory but if her being involved is going to make it so that she has to do 10 posts to Madison's memory thread, then I probably won't ask her to be involved since the next few memories after that would be solo again.

If you require 10 posts, and five memories. Does this mean we can split the memories into two different posts and have it count towards one memory or are we going to be required to post each memory in it's fullest in a single post and actually have 10 memories if we're doing solo?

My guess would be that she could make a cameo - but her post wouldn't count to your 10, and she wouldn't be eligible to be put into the pot for the prize as she hadn't made 10 posts herself.

I think I need to sleep more often. *hasn't slept in over 24 hours*

I think my brain translated that as "anyone you have join the thread needs to make a minimum of 10 posts for you to qualify for rewards".

I wouldn't care if her posts didn't count towards mine or anything. And I just caught the no transcript thing which is kind of a pain if she's just making a cameo.

But again, I haven't slept so I may just revisit this later....like tomorrow....after a night's worth of sleep....I hope. *goes to shower for class*

Alex can make a cameo. There's no problems with that. But it would then be as Robert stated; her post doesn't count towards your 10 and she'd have to make her own thread or make 10 posts with someone else if she wanted to meet the criteria for the competition.

You can split the memory over a couple of posts. That's fine. Just make sure they are both labelled as the same memory.

@ Shan: Wow! Go you. Finished already. I like the enthusiasm. :D

@ Doc: I see you posted the link to your thread before it's finished. That's fine. But don't forget to edit the post to state as much or post again when it's complete please.

Just a note for those RPing this. If you are including others, you don't need to vocalise your memories if you don't want too. They can be internal flashbacks while you are talking, walking, etc. Similarly, if you are talking you could be telling your friend your memories. You could even be telling your friend one version of the story while recalling internally what really happened. Up to you. Just so long as you have fun and meet the criteria it's all good to us.
