UPDATE: Team Raids
Posted: 06 Mar 2014, 19:35
Team raids are now set to randomly spawn at an average rate of around 2 per week (also varies depending on how long it takes for the last one to clear). They can also spawn at the same time as all other raid types.
Team raids are, simply, events designed to encourage you to find a team of 1-6 individuals skilled in various things. The wider array of skills you have in the team, the better chances you'll have of winning. You'll need fighters, hackers, thieves, trappers, stealthy individuals, trackers, healers, and people with various powers. It's up to you who you take, how many you take, and how you get the job done, but there will be plenty of challenging obstacles in your team's way.
You can find out about team raids in the same way as standard raids. Rumours in city bars / clubs are the most common way of finding team raids, but you can also use your Earring of Whispers relic, if you have one, to automatically be informed of a new team raid and the estimated difficulty of the raid.
Team raids come in 4 difficulty variations, but unlike other raids this difficulty level simply adds 1 onto the number of floors. Easy team raids have 5 floors, whereas hard team raids have 8 floors. Yep, you guessed it, the floors get harder as you ascend the building. But so do the rewards for unlocking each lock, depending on the tasks set out.
We won't spoil all the surprises for you, so we'll leave you to investigate once the first team raid spawns (likely within the next day or so). However, here's a few notes of things you should be aware of before you start:

We won't spoil all the surprises for you, so we'll leave you to investigate once the first team raid spawns (likely within the next day or so). However, here's a few notes of things you should be aware of before you start:
- - From a roleplay perspective, these raids are against an alliance of demi-fae creatures who have established corporate bases at Harper Rock for some unknown reason. They masquerade as humans in the same way vampires do. Your character's reasons for attacking these bases could be anything from suspicion, to protecting humans, to wanting to steal the wealth these demi-fae like to horde. We'll have more about these demis on the wiki within a few days.
- You can form teams using the "relationships" page, and these teams are dispersed after a team raid is cleared.
- You can't leave a team once your team has unlocked even one lock in a team raid. This is to stop people exploiting the system.
- Obviously, you're not allowed to use alts to form a team made up of multiple characters you own yourself. The cheat code will block this automatically soon, but for now just don't do it please.
- Team members now get temporary combat stat bonuses for fighting in the same square as each other (VS NPCs only) in the same way as factions.
- You can distract NPCs from attacking you on sight if you have an ally sitting in the square of the target NPC before you enter.
- Each team raid floor has a security rating which can be seen on the floor's computer terminal. The security of the floor makes all tasks within that floor considerably harder. So if you find yourself unable to complete a task, wait until the hour changes, at which point the security of all floors drops by 2 points.
- Failing any task will not boot you from the floor, BUT it will cost you 10 energy!
- You can only win 1 team raid every 2 months. If your team has a member who has won a raid within the past 2 months, your entire team will be unable to fight the boss.
- Your faction can win as many team raids in these 2 months as you like (if you can), but you'll need to field a different team for each raid.
- The monthly resets for these limitations occur on the 1st of every other month, starting from January (so, on the 1st of every odd-numbered month).
- You can compete by yourself if you wish, but you're unlikely to win if you do.
- Teams can be made up of human or vampire members.
- Winning a team raid will net your entire team (up to 6 members) a nice amount of money and experience points. These rewards range from 1000-2000 exp and $35,000-$60,000 per member, depending on the difficulty of the raid. You'll also gain some rare loot, and a nice amount of bonus experience for certain tasks which unlock a floor for your team.
