Out for a jog

The fresh face looked in the cloud of steam at the door of the shower before opening it. Her hair brushed, teeth minty fresh in no time. The clothes were pretty basic jogging; tight stretch pants, a tee shirt with a band logo and a nice pair of running shoes that would support each step. Her hair pulled back into a hair tie. She grabbed a jacket from the bed of her room in her sire’s apartment as she left the building. She figured a good long jog around the city would be just what she needed to clear her mind.
In the front of the building, West Towers, she stretched her limbs, jumped up and down in place and cracked her neck before she started to run. The pace was slow and steady. She loved the running shoes she bought, keeping her at peek physical performance. The inserts of the shoes were specially made for each step to be comfortable instead of doing damage to the joints that could be done when the pressure of the foot connects to the ground, a jolt up through the bones causing all different sorts of problems like knee and back aches. Anything that would have prevented injuries when she was a mortal was worth a few extra coins.
The city passed in spades. Even in the bouncing steps, she plugged the ear buds of the music player into her ears drowning out the city to Avril Lavigne’s song I’m with you. To herself, she hummed along with the lyrics of the song. Running was not only good for the body but the soul. It helped her cleanse the thoughts that plagued her. She knew one day it would come. For so long she had been hung up on someone who just didn't feel the same way in return. The saddest part was she had known it all along but continued to pursue the person, knowing when it ended she would be the one to be crushed. It was time to face that fact, be a friend but stop the rest of it. She needed to stop fooling herself.
The running was paced out, a few minutes of walking. About ten minutes just an easy going stride of one foot in front of the other. When the time passed, she began running again. It was routine in the manner she did it. A good hour later of running she found herself on nearly the other end of the city. When she was mortal it was a great cardio work out. Jogging was the easiest, and cheapest, way of her keeping fit. The way it got her heart pumping was the best work out. It burned calories and gave quite the adrenaline rush before work. It promoted blood circulation aiding the excretion of toxins and other waste substances from the body through perspiration, and it increases oxygen intake, something she didn't need now.
“If you wanna bring me down…” Her voice crooned as she ran by the Harper Rock Play Land Theme Park her childe had purchased for them to open together. She smiled, a gentle smile, while looking at the sign that said it was under construction. With hope, the place would be opened someday soon. She paused in the run, paused to take a minute to rest, on the bridge in Wicks bridge. She leaned on the railing looking out over the water down below. She watched the dark reflection of the nearly black water wavering as the cold wind blew past, enough cold she’d have been freezing if not for the invigorating run and well, being a vampire. Though, she was one of the quietest vampires. She didn't get out socializing as much as the others did. Somehow she didn't see herself as the besties, best of buddies’ type of person. Silence, when there was some, was a good companion. Often weeks would go by without her saying a word.
Standing on the bridge, not bothering to look out over the edge any longer, she jumped up and down. Next she stopped the up and down motion replacing it with shaking out her hands, limbering up her legs by pulling them up behind her stretching a bit more. Her shoulders rolled, pulling the ear bud out to get her next heading of where to run. She looked back from where she came, never turn back though, and go to new places, run about the city before heading back home to the quiet apartment with her small room tucked in the corner.
