Slammer [ invite ]

Post by Lorde »

Melody was a killer, even a little bit mad at times. What she had done though was outrageous. A killer, giving herself into the human police, granted she was weak for the lack of blood. Blonde curls covered the woman's face blood splattered features. Blue eyes cast down to the ground watching flecks of dust off the pavement fly by. "You have the right to remain silent" they told her, as they shoved her body against the cold hood of the car, and handcuffed her.

Blue eyes seemed so far away, lost in thought that she didn't know what was happened, her cheekbones had become so gaunt. She looked starved. Melody said nothing as she was shoved into the car, the door closing behind her. The engine stirred to life and drove away taking Melody away, leaving nothing but tire tracks.

:: Month later ::

"Guilty" Melody said, facing the man who wielded the wooden hammer. "I sentence you to 15 years." Melody smirked. 15 years was nothing when you have immortality. She let the men in the black uniform take her away, her cold eyes studied the mass of people within the room as she was taken into another room where she was instructed to remove her clothing and replace it with a rather ugly orange 'onsie' "Orange isn't my colour" she told the woman, elbows pressed against the table. "Put it on." The woman replied, not entertaining Melody.

Melody did as she was told, she undressed in front of the woman, she wasn't shy, she was quite prideful of her body and slipped her naked form into that orange suit. She gave the woman a sleezy smile.

"Want to search me now?" Melody lifted her arms. Inviting the woman in, the sleeve of her shirt fell a bit, revealing the brand on her wrist - the branch that would never fade away - that symbolised her eternal love for her wife. Eilidh. "Are you carrying drugs?" The woman asked, In a bored tone. "If I was, would you search me?" Was the witty response.

:: Month later ::

"Mel". The blonde woman turned to look at the red head, "Zara, Helen and I were thinking about ditching this place." Melody raised an eyebrow, looking away for her freshly painted nails. "How are you planning on doing that?" The red haired woman looked sheepish.

"Well, you have that strength." She said. Since being in this all girls prison, Melody had become top dog she fed everyday. Most of the in mates knew she was a vampire and because of that they fell at her feet. Some even begged her to turn them. Melody agreed, though she'd never carry it out she asked for their blood in exchange to keep her young and to keep her strength up.

She often thought of her wife, but she could no longer feel the woman close to her - their link got weaker which made Melody act out, she used women for her own selfish deeds.

"You in?" Melody nodded her head. It had only been a month and she was already bored of seeing the same four walls each day. The woman got up, dusted down her jump suit, and followed Tina back to her cell to plan out their escape.

It's about time she returned to Harper Rock, to her sire at least. She could still feel his link.

:: Four days later ::

Sirens buzzed in her ear, she was out. She had to take out a few guards on her way to the main gates. The screaming, the shouting all got a bit to much for her delicate eardrums. Her group followed her out trailing behind quite close - watching in awe of her strength and agility as she broke one neck, and then moved onto the next. Yes, she had broken the masquerade in this place but she couldn't care she wasn't in Harper Rock. If anything this place was like a vacation for her. She had been so quiet when she was taken in and now she seemed like her old self. Melody got to the last gate and turned to face her 'friends' she smiled. "This is the end". They all whooped and clapped Melody on the shoulder, what they didn't expect was their deaths. Melody killed all three of them swiftly. She felt slightly sad killing them, they had amused her. Getting rid her lingering emotions for the humans she jumped over the gate and ran off into the darkness of the woods, ignoring the sounds of the prisons alarms.

She knew now she was an escaped convict, she couldn't go by Mel anymore. If anyone knew her name well she'd have to kill them, so she'd give herself a new name. She'd go by Lorde now. It was simple, sweet and very different from Melody.

After a couple of hours worth of hitch hiking, she was back in Harper Rock. Well. It hadn't changed. She breathed out and headed towards Cherrydale.

Enver didn't particularly like the catacombs, but Keara seemed to be drawn to them. In the end it didn't matter where he was, so long as he was with her. With his phone he could run his businesses, check the crownet and on the rare occasion he could try and find a few relics that Keara may need later on down the road. And when he found himself getting bored with the routine of the catacombs, or sitting around, his wife was always good for keeping Enver entertained in a variety of ways.

Not long after Enver took care of some business with the theatre and then with his boating company, the male skimmed through the two family crownets he had access to. Something caught his attention. There was something going on in River's family, so out of curiosity the male skimmed the forum. "Huh." Was all he said after reading the post, then started inquiring about some things. Sure, he let his creations do whatever, but that didn't mean he didn't see what they were up to from time to time.

What was said didn't make a lick of sense! Enver could have sworn Melody was off with her wife doing what married couples did. Hell, he was sure he even told Keara that Melody was probably off in Scotland with Eel. It seemed to be the most logical thought to him when the male couldn't 'feel' his creation anymore and didn't hear from her either. Not that he could blame her much, he had gone quiet in the past few months given his life with Keara and her family.

"Melody's back." Enver rubbed at his jaw as he inquired where Melody was in the family Crownet, his attention moving to Keara. "I think she's in trouble." He didn't sound disappointed, quite the opposite. Trouble seemed to follow River, him and Melody, so it was something he was just used to. "I've got to help her get sorted." The male stood, put the phone away after he asked Melody where she was and looked over at Keara. "Might need some help. Think you can leave the cats a while?" He'd leave it up to Keara in the end, but the offer was extended to her. There were some things Enver just couldn't do, that Keara could do and it'd be smart on many levels to ask for her help.

'Melody?' She began trying to recall the name. It should have been instantly recognisable to her but she was kind of focused on the noises in the chamber to her left. That and she hated him mentioning other women and had quite likely tried to repress the information as to whom the name belonged. Once the connection was made, she turned her full attention to her partner, sheathed her sword and folded her arms across her chest as she listened.

"All too willing am I for this place to leave if elsewhere needed I am. If think you do that my presence productive would be, then happy I am for you to follow."

She cut her words off there as what she'd said was quite sufficient and she didn't think he'd want to stand around and discuss things further, especially since his words seemed to hint to the fact that he didn't have all the information. A part of her was hesitant to go with him, as she hadn't met any of his immediate family, besides River and her she knew before she even met Enver. It wasn't that she was worried about what Melody would think of her, well, not exactly, she just wasn't sure how she was supposed to behave around her. When they were at home Keara could be herself and when they were alone in the darkness too but around non-family members, that was when she tended to get herself in trouble. She hadn't acted as she should at the ice-skating event Enver had helped organise and while the night didn't end on a bad note, it had been fraught with tension and high emotions. Misunderstandings between them were still quite common and she didn't relish the idea that she might say or do something wrong this night and upset him or his childe.

She uncrossed her arms and reached to take his hand, only before she made contact with him she quickly withdrew her hand, placing it back down by her side. “Whereto are we going? Need we home return for our destination to reach?” She was asking, as reaching out to him would be of no use if they had to use their tomes to get home. However, if they were to be walking to their destination then she would be able to keep him close to him.

Lorde headed for the mausoleum, only to find yellow tape all around the building, and a fair few built police men around the place. She took a quick swerve and pulled up then hood of her jumper, hiding her features unsure if they would recognise her, she didn't even want to take the chance. She headed for then sewers, pulling the lid to the side and dropping down landing on the damp ground. She hated the sewers, it always made her uneasy.

Wait

Lorde looked around, left to right before heading north towards the sewer entrance to the mausoleum. She made her way inside, her blonde hair cascading down the side of her face. Lorde lifted the tips of her fingers to the wall, and dragged them along the surface of the wall. The scent of death and dried blood filled her nostrils, it was comforting - an old smell she had been friends with once.

Lorde moved silently through the catacombs, pulling out her phone as she pulled up the family CrowNet. Her eyes found a topic which caught her attention, Enver was married. She replied to her topic with "Congratulations daddio" her common nickname for Enver, and yet he somehow tolerated it. He replied to the topic almost instantly.

Shocked, she told him where she was; the catacombs. She'd told him she'd been arrested, so whilst she was waiting for him she began to pickpocket.

Her skills in that area weren't the best. Her hand reached into a woman's pocket unknowing that the pocket belonged to Keara, Enver's wife.

His grin was one of relief when Keara agreed to help. Enver wasn't so sure she would come help him sort out whatever needed to be sorted with Melody. It wasn't anything specifically about Keara that made him think that about her, Enver was just used to asking for help in a roundabout way and few people actually doing much to help him in anything. So, Enver usually stopped asking and tried to sort things out his own way, be it the right or wrong way in the end of things. The lack of asking for help was a big hindrance in a 'relationship' he had before he had met Keara. So he learned from it and offered an olive branch of sorts for Keara, his wife to help him if she wanted to. if not, Enver would do what he did and figure it out on his own. Not a big deal.

His phone went off, which left the pair of them from being locked at the hands for an even longer time. "She's in the catacombs. Southern." He informed Keara, as part of him wondered why she decided to go there of all places first. Why not the theatre? Or River's place? Or any of his places? He discarded the thoughts and figured it didn't matter. She'd been gone a long time and in some place Enver couldn't imagine Melody ever ending up at. Jail. What in the hell happened? Where was Eel and had she been in jail too? "Come on." Enver replied to Melody, his steps taking him away from Keara as his mind got to work. Find Melody, bring her home, let her get sorted and then hear what happened and how bad it was.

While he was busy getting to work, Enver didn't realize just how fast he was going, or the fact he had left Keara standing there as his celerity kicked in and brought him smacking in to the doorway of the northern and southern catacombs. "****." He growled out as his phone met the surface and smashed between he and the wall as the two collided.

She was still waiting for a reply as to where they were going when his phone rang. This wasn't anything new but it kept him distracted from her and caused him to become lost in whatever it was he was doing and then, then he was gone. Keara stood there a little dumbfounded as to what had just happened, a look of confusion mixed with concern on her face. Had he been summoned away? Had he tomed home? She didn't know, then she recalled how quick he could be when he wanted to and realised, or rather hoped, that he'd simply run off. Though the fact he may have run off left her with a new mix of emotions, the more dominating of them being anger, as it seemed quite rude of him to go racing off ahead without her. She folded her arms and contemplated exactly what to do next. She debated simply going home and letting Enver sort things out on his own, half convinced that he had changed his mind and no longer required her assistance. But then she knew a little of how he worked and began to wonder if him racing off had even been intentional. She was yet to come to a decision when she felt someone trying to pick her pockets.

"Prefer I would if do that you did not," she said reaching out and grabbing that assailant by the wrist. "Perhaps so kind you would be for your name to give, so that a name to your face I can affix."

She didn't really have time for this, as she needed to head off towards the southern tunnels and find out what happened to Enver and if he had in fact left her behind on purpose. If she had, there would likely be hell to pay later when he got home. If she even allowed him home that was. Somewhere in the back of her mind she was making a note to see if she had the ingredients for the ritual to uninvited people. Being the sort to ask questions however, she decided to allow a few moments to try and gain obtain the woman's name. It wasn't that she wanted to chastise the female, (it seemed to almost be a game of sorts among vampires to see if they could lighten one another's pockets), but rather that she preferred to know who it was that had been so close to her, and more than that, had been so careless as to have gotten themselves caught. Even in that brief moment as she looked the woman over, her wrist gripped firmly in her right hand, there was something about her that seemed familiar.

Jonah had ended up at the sewer entrance for the catacombs, as he often did. Almost a year of traveling primarily through the sewers and he still didn't really know them. Probably because he didn't really "travel" through them. It wasn't as if he used them to get from point a to point b. And he rarely tried to get to a particular part of the sewer. Some would say he wandered but he did not have a description for what he did at all. He just...moved from one paladin to the next.

As much as the assault on the paladins that filled the sewers was needed, Jonah had other needs to fill as well and cash was decently high on the list. The items he was able to salvage from the paladins caught a decent price but there had been a request for items that could only be found on the monsters in the catacombs and arriving at the entrance to the area reminded him of it.

Walking through the entrance, he kept his gun and sword out as he moved from room to room with little luck but that was normal for him. He had always preferred the southern part of the catacombs for some reason. Like the sewers, his knowledge of the actual layout of the area was sketchy at best but he thought that the door between the northern and southern parts was in the next room over.

He had started to let his guard down when he heard shuffling and a hard crack and an expletive. Something was going on it seemed. Bringing his gun back up, he walked in to the room and leveled the weapon at the general vicinity of the door. It took a few seconds for the shape he was looking at in the darkness to shift in to something recognizable and when it did, he hastily lowered the weapon. "Everything ok Enver?"

Lorde's hand was snatched from the pocket. Oops! She was caught.

She cursed to herself. Muttering words under her breath. She found her ocean blue eyes looking upwards to the woman she had just tried to pickpocket, she offered her a sheepish smile. As if the smile itself would let her go, but no such luck the woman's grip only tightened. The woman spoke then, her speech was weird. She talked in third person, which made Lorde's mind boggle. She wanted to mock the woman, but something made her hold her tongue, she evaporated strength, just like Mircea did and found her water coloured eyes looking anywhere but at her face.

"Sorry" she mumbled. Sorry wasn't going to cut it she knew, with a bit of a tug and a wrangle the woman yanked her wrist from the woman's vice like grip. Her hands automatically went down to her orange jumpsuit. She hadn't had time really to get out of it, so she looked odd, and very much like a convict. Then her long, bony fingers found their way to her hair where she smoothed the features, running the tips of her nails through the knots.

Name.
This woman wanted her name, Lorde shrugged her shoulders.

"Melo-" she began, forgetting she had to change her alias she quickly coughed and said the correct introduction. "Lorde, yourself?" She finished. She pulled that back like a pro, the smile was evident in her features. She was proud. But her blue eyes focused in on the other vampires, curious as to who she was. The killer wanted to know who caught her.

The male looked up at the wall, stunned that he had met it so quickly. More so, how he came to meet it so quickly. "Damnit." He muttered, internally kicking himself as he realized what had happened more or less and how Enver still had failed to master the path of the Killer and a power that he rarely used, unless his emotion or thoughts were tied to getting to a place quick for one reason or another. "Huh?" Enver asked as he heard his name, his head reeling around to see Jonah with a gun. A gun in his direction.

Normally that would put the male on high alert, but he and Jonah had quite a long conversation a while back and Enver knew where the male stood on some things. Like Keara. And being Keara and he had just recently gotten married and things seemed fine between them, Enver wasn't worried that they had a problem to sort out. He and Jonah that was. And while Enver was aware of the fact that Jonah was now part of Tytonidae due to Velveteen, Enver knew he had been a 'good boy' and wasn't going around doing what he normally did. Mostly because Keara had kept his nights fairly busy (not that the male minded). So really, Enver wasn't phased by a gun in his direction.

"Who the hell put a wall there?" Enver tried to brush off the fact he had just had a moment of ability malfunction to an embarrassing degree and pin it on fault of the wall. He then looked past Jonah and then whipped his head around to the other side to see; well, nothing. No Keara, or no Melody. "Damnit." His stare returned back to Jonah. "You didn't happen to see where Keara went to, did you?" Enver asked rather sheepishly before clearing his throat and hoisting himself up off the ground.

That Enver was confused was obvious. "Umm...It has always been...there?" Instinctively, he looked around for some sign of Keara for an explanation of what was going on and why the other man was acting so odd but apparently Enver didn't know where she was at either. Lowering the gun the rest of the way, he walked in to the room more fully.

"I haven't seen her but I haven't been to the south side yet." He guessed that that was where Keara was since that was where Enver was trying to head but in the odd state he was in...well, nothing was certain.

He tucked the gun in to its holster and stepped up, resting one massive hand on the other's back and directing him through the door, careful to avoid sending him in to the wall yet again. Pulling his phone from his pocket, he sent Keara a quick message.

I'm with Enver and he's looking for you. Where are you?
