Ryder: Ryder ambled round the place quietly, cleaning up the empty tables before getting ready to clock out and head home for the night, the pink haired waitress barely slowed down as customers came and went, cutting her off as they walked past.
Madison: After the email correspondence with Ryder, Madison was already hesitant about this potential renter. She hadn't given Madison a lot of information to work with and hadn't answered the questions that Madison asked directly. But that's what this meeting was for. It wasn't the best to make snap judgments about a person from an email correspondence. Text had no tone or emotion to it which could easily be colored by the personal opinion of the one reading it. Madison tried to keep her mind open and off the thoughts of how much she had liked the other girl she had interviewed as she walked into the Pentacle Teahouse. Her throat tightened as she noticed that there were a decent amount of customers still about this time of night. She didn't like crowds.
Ryder: Ryder looked up as the door tingled, letting her know another customer had either entered, or left. She was supposed to do the greetings too, so without hesitation she offered the woman a smile. Unashamedly leaving a vast collection of tattoos on show, including a black rose on the back of her left hand, the ink was cause of much discussion among customers who weren't used to such displays of colour. Despite the woman's gaunt appearance, she seemed cheery. ''Hi! Welcome to the Pentacle Teahouse, is it just the one? I've got a table spare in the corner if you'd like? Or I could find you something a little more open?''
Madison: The blonde forced an awkward smile to her lips as a pale woman with pink hair greeted her. She gave a quick look around, realizing that she hadn't sent Ryder a jpeg image file of herself so the other would know what she looked like. But no one that was sitting by themselves in the teahouse appeared to be waiting on anyone. A sheepish look crossed over Madison's features as she responded to the waitress, "Uhm, no....I'm meeting someone... I hope." Her tone dropped some as she mumbled the rest, "A potential renter."
Ryder: Ryder 's face turned to one of confusion at the woman's words ''A renter?'' The question was more for herself than for Madison, gently ushering the woman into the corner booth ''I'll be back shortly Miss.'' With that, she slipped into the crowd and promptly clocked out, taking her 'lunch' break now whilst the time was right. ''Sorry Miss. I think you're waiting for me? 750 a month yeah?''
Madison: The pink-haired lady led Madison to a corner booth and she took the offered seat. As she slipped between the table and booth, the waitress took her leave quickly. Madison stared after her quizzically for a moment before getting distracted by the amount of people nearby. She felt awkward sitting there alone. Her pale blue eyes flit from person to person, always expecting someone to be staring at her when it was she who was doing the staring. It was probably a good thing her hands were in her lap, below the table, where people couldn't see her picking at the cuticles of her fingernails. A nervous habit she'd only started noticing recently.
When the pink-haired waitress returned a few moments later, she couldn't help but furrow her brow when it was revealed that she was the one Madison was waiting for. Madison smoothed her hands over her jeans before bringing them above the table, "Yes, but you can call me Madison.... I'm not taking you away from work am I? Seems kind of busy in here."
Ryder: Ryder looked round then waved a hand idly ''Eh, I'm sure someone can cover for me for a bit. I was due to take my break soon anyway.'' She stuck her hand out to the woman and grinned ''I'm Ryder.''
Madison: "Nice to meet you Ryder," Madison responded while reaching out to take Ryder's offered hand. Now that she knew who she was dealing with, the telepath took a closer look at the woman before her. This one wasn't human like the other girl. No, Ryder was a vampire much like herself. And from what Madison could tell, a relatively new one at that. That was actually a check mark in the positives for her. Though if it stayed there, that would yet to be seen. "Are you new to Harper Rock?"
Ryder: Ryder shook the hand gently and shook her head with it ''Nope, been here for a while now.. moved around a lot though.. but recently I found need for my own place, yanno?'' She smiled warmly, despite the ink on her fingers forming the word 'hate' Ryder seemed to be quite happy.
Madison: While she had noticed that Ryder had quite a few visible tattoos, Madison was spending more time paying attention to the woman's face than what her tattoos were of. It helped her in social situations, even one with a stranger, to focus on their face. It kept her mind and eyes from wandering. Her blonde head nodded slightly as she brought her hand back towards herself from across the table, "I suppose it is considered a pretty big milestone to call someplace yours for the first time. How long have you been working here?"
Ryder: Ryder bit her lip at the question, she'd bounced around jobs like a pinball being smacked by the flippers. How long would she keep the job would have been a better question, though the answer to that wouldn't be much better than the one she had to give. ''Here? Only a few days..''

Re: Possible Tenant #2
--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
Madison: "Oh..." That was a mark in the 'Meh' section. At least this one had a job....though Nelle had offered her more than what she was asking for in rent and to pay a few months in advance. But reliability would be key in this situation. Madison didn't want to have to go through the court process and paper work of evicting someone months down the line because they had broken the contract by not paying their monthly rental fees. Madison forced a small, seemingly non-judgmental smile to her face, "And before then? Where you out of work for long?"
Ryder: That was the question she would have avoided if it were even possible. The answer was one that would surely fail her so she hid away behind her brightly coloured hair, contemplating how best to put her answer before very meekly whispering ''I got fired a lot.. they didn't like my ink, or my hair, or me.. I was late sometimes.. but I did work really hard when I was there!''
Madison: 'When I was there.' Madison could understand employers having differences about hair color and the visible tattoos, but showing up to work was kind of vital as was being there on time. If Ryder wasn't reliable for work would she be reliable for paying the rent? Madison wasn't so sure about that. Instead of voicing her thoughts, her blonde head nodded sympathetically and her face portrayed the same, "Have you ever had any bills in your name?"
Ryder: Ryder chewed her lip as she thought about it, then pulled out her phone, the thing was battered and beaten, and probably dropped a few times into the bath for good measure. ''Only this..''
Madison: Her pale blue eyes looked down to the poor abused phone. She hoped its condition meant that Ryder had owned it for quite awhile. If not, that led to more worries about how well Ryder would treat the apartment should she move in. "Somethings better than nothing," Madison looked back up at Ryder before pulling her messenger bag closer to her. Flipping up the flap, she pulled out a manilla envelope. "Do you have a pen on you?"
Ryder: Ryder 's phone was only a few months old, but it had seen a lot of use. She had it in her hand nearly all night, and before she turned, all day and most of the night! ''uh.. pen..'' She padded herself down looking for the device she used so frequently in work, eventually fishing it out of her pocket ''Yeah, here ya go.'' She pushed the pen across the table and smiled.
Madison: "Thank you." Taking the offered pen, Madison slipped out two sheets of paper that were stapled together at the top left-hand corner. Setting it down on the table, she turned the pages so that Ryder could read what she was showing her easily. Using the pen as a pointer as well as a writing tool, Madison marked an 'X' next to the vital bits of information that she needed from the other woman. "This is a form that allows me the ability to get a background check. I'll need your full name here, your current and previous address, telephone number and most importantly your social insurance number and your signature at the bottom."
Ryder: Ryder sighed as she read through the form and heard what she needed to give. Biting her lip hard as she filled in the part of her name, progressing down the form slowly, reading each line as if she were about to hand over part of her soul. Leaving out her signature as she looked up at the woman ''This Previous address.. probably won't give me a good reference, they didn't like me much.''
Madison: She was quiet the entire time Ryder was filling out her information. In her head Madison was fighting herself not to fidget. Her legs felt electrified, as though every muscle in them was firing off nerves that told her she needed to move. Her hands had slipped back into her lap, fingernails picking at the others. Every now and then her periwinkle orbs found themselves wandering around the establishment, wondering if she was taking too much of Ryder's time while she was supposed to be working. When Ryder spoke, Madison's attention turned back to the woman. "Oh, uhm, I may not even call them. Depends on what the security check comes back with. Is there a reason they don't like you?"
Ryder: Ryder bit back a dry laugh as she finished signing her name on the line before pushing the form back to the woman, pen left in the middle of the table ''Yeah, they're my parents.''
Madison: "Oh," Madison chuckled a bit but the sound was off, tainted by seeming forced and anxious. "Say no more then. I don't have the best relationship with my dad either. Haven't spoken to the man in going on three or four years." Taking the pages, the telepath put them back into the manilla envelope which went back into her messenger bag. "I'll let you get back to work then. Either way, I'll call you and let you know my decision to move forward or not. If so, I'll need a time when you're off of work so you can come see the apartment and make the final decision on if you actually want to move in."
Ryder: Ryder nods with a smile and stands, collecting the pen as she shifted her apron slightly ''Thanks! Would you like a drink before you go? I'm sure I can find a takeaway cup to hide it..'' She smiled more and skirted round the customers to get behind the counter, rooting around quietly before producing a plastic mixing cup ''All I can find.. I suppose it'll have to do though.''
Madison: Before Madison could tell Ryder that she was fine, the girl was out of her seat and disappearing behind the counter. With a sigh the telepath made sure she had all her things and slowly slid to the edge of the seat before standing. She gave Ryder a small, close-lipped smile as she accepted the small plastic cup of warm tea, "Thank you, have a good night."
Ryder: ''You too Madison, do come back!'' Ryder grinned and waved the woman out before clocking back into work and began her cleaning again, making room for the newer customers.
Madison:Madison smiled and nodded before heading out the door. When she was out of sight of the teahouse, she dumped the cup Ryder had given her into the first trash bin she came across. Finding a secluded section of Honeymead Market, she pulled out her tome and took herself home to the Den.
